Strange feeling in chest after taking Ecstasy.

Firstly some background, so I took a dinger for the first time on 3 Saturday nights ago. It was a white star with brown spots throughout the pill. They turned out to be somewhat duds as I was feeling it and coming up but instead of peaking was left without feeling the effects at all except for a little. Ended up smoking a couple of cones (I am indeed a seasoned weed smoker) which resulted in me enjoying the rest of the night. I don't know whether that was due to the THC interacting with the contents of the pill or whether it was just me getting really high after a 3 week T-break. Pupils were incredibly large even after the effects of all drugs could not be felt.

Now onto my question, as I am overweight, although not too badly (6ft and 108kg/238lbs, 18yrs). I went into it aware of the possible effect it might have on the heart. I have no problems with the heart whatsoever and never have but I found my heart rate to increase while I was on the E, which I can expect to be somewhat normal. But the thing is that I had this strange feeling in my chest both to the far left as well as more centralised towards where I think the heart is actually located, but I would not describe it as a pain, the only way I could describe it would be feeling as if my heart is actually "there" (maybe a bit heavy) rather than normally not actually feeling that your heart is where it is, I don't really "feel" that my internal organs are where they are. I know that is confusing and a strange description but that's the best way i could describe it. On and off this has persisted for the following day and a half.

Curious as to whether anyone can relate to this or if this is normal? I definitely want to try it again at some point to experience what should have been a wonderful experience but I don't want to mess around if this could be a serious issue (which it most likely isn't). Just looking for some opinions and experiences to be thrown my way from some mature people who do know their shit about taking these cocktails of unknown substances accompanied my MDMA that we get off of bullshit and untrustworthy dealers these days.

Thank you for your responses. :)

UPDATE: People seem to be answering this question in relation to the bud affecting me, I am a regular smoker and have no concern about marijuana increasing my heart rate. My concerns were directed towards the pill. Thank you! :D

hey dude welcome to bl :)

sounds like you are a little consciously/subconsciously concerned about your weight, diet, and heart health. if i were you i would probably make an appointment with my G.P. to have a check up.

did you test your pill before consuming? dont eat random pills because there could be fuck knows what in them, and often they are filled with shitty stimulants that are often are lot more strenuous on the heart than mdma. test your gear so you know what you are playing with.

as far as the saliva test you should be fine. it is hard to give a definitive answer to your question, though you only consumed a small amount so it should pass from your system rather quickly, whatever it was. iv got mates that iv been out with and have consumed many pills over the course of the night and the very next day pass saliva test, so i think you will be fine.

all the best Shardz

Drug testing questions aren't allowed on BL, sorry.

If you got a bunk pill, then who knows what the hell was in there.. you're lucky all it did was make your chest feel weird, there are some truly malicious pills out there that can get you very sick. A lot of drugs could cause that though, and it wouldn't be of any good to guess which one it was.

I think anyone that knows their shit wouldn't mess around with unknown chemicals to begin with ;) Get a test kit man.

Sounds like your heart was just working harder than normal, which is a typical effect of MDMA, cannabis, and other drugs. If, as you say, you have no history of heart problems, then this isn't alarming. Do you exercise much? Try going for a run or working out for a few minutes, you can expect to feel the same thing.

Like Folley said, get a test kit to avoid taking bad pills in the future.

^Could be true in a way mate. I used to get anxious on weed, and usually when that happens the high takes a different path, feels very stimulating, heart pounding like crazy.

oh ok so does your heart really speed up or is it just you think its speeding up cause your paranoid?

when i exercise my heart rate increase, iv been told this is a good thing?

to say ganja puts a strain on the heart is funny imho.

Cannabis can increase heart rate, and make you more aware of the heart itself, to the point where it seriously (SERIOUSLY) feels like your heart will jump up your throat... I've been there. Thought I was gonna have a heart attack. This only happened in my beginner days of cannabis tho.

If you feel weird sensations around your chest/heart area after doing drugs, It could be related.. but probably most due to anxiety. If you didn't test your pill.. who knows what it was. It probably wasn't MDMA tho, if you didn't really feel anything special (cause you should). Some people are more sensitive, a friend of mine dont get as strong effects like me off the same dose, even his first time wasn't like super great, even though I felt like I was in heaven my first time.

Stay away from pills you dont know what is... It ALWAYS leaves you speculating if something is strange.. and that can produce anxiety
You will probably be fine man, but get exercise, eat healthy and get some sunlight : ) and always test your dope

Does ganja actually increase heart rate or is it just in your paranoid head? A link/referenc supporting the claim the ganja increases heart rate would be appreciated. As far as I'm aware it would be placebo/mental.

Some of the short-term physical effects of cannabis use include increased heart rate, dry mouth, reddening of the eyes (congestion of the conjunctival blood vessels), a reduction in intra-ocular pressure, muscle relaxation and a sensation of cold or hot hands and feet.[46]

It's the first thing mentioned man.. it's not really a debatable side effect. Marijuana may feel like a downer to you, so hearing it actually increases the heart rate may come as a surprise. Pure THC actually is quite stimulating however, and if you've ever had it (medical THC pills for example) you'd know it's quite a different high than your usual weed which has much more cannabinoid which has the downer effect you're thinking of.

Weed strains these days get crazy levels of THC though (20%+), yet still only contain .5-1% of CBD. Obviously this can cause problems for those that react better to CBD, and one of the main side effects of THC is increased heart rate.

Have you ever seen the video of the lady injected with pure THC and CBD? For the cannabinoid, she LAUGHED HER ASS OFF. Most stoned I've seen anyone lol... completely faded. For the THC she like flipped out, was obviously not enjoying it. It's worth watch aha

Interesting. Are there any other references besides wiki, where did wiki get that info from?

I have never experienced an increase in heart rate from ganja and tbph I am very surprised to hear that.

Do you think it's possible to increase the hearts rate by just thinking about it, sort of like placebo? I know with focus and or meditation techniques it is possible to slow ones heart rate. Heart can be closely linked to breath rate?

The use of cannabis has all kinds of physical consequences. The most important ones are:

Increased heartbeat. Generally, it slows down in about 20 minutes.
Drop of the pressure in your eyeball.
Change of blood pressure.
Sense of cold or hot hands and feet.
Discoloration of the white of the eye to somewhat pink because of dilation of the vessels in the conjunctiva of the eye.
Relaxation of the muscles.
A dry mouth.

These effects are temporary and mostly disappear after a couple of hours.

A lot of propaganda sites love to point it out, but I can't find any actual study describing something so basic as it's just a well known side effect.. An increase in heart rate is not necessarily bad, and in some cases (like when running) it is good.. but if you're just sitting on your ass with a racing heart all the time, obviously it's not a good thing.

Let's get back on topic though! There's probably a lot of info over in CD about it if you search Laugh, and if there isn't maybe make your own thread if you're so interested? :)

i would imagine anxiety would worsen the feeling of a racing heart, yes. But it IS an effect of cannabis, no doubt. I'm talking from experience here, so its not bullshit : )
