Heroin Is there any way to control use?

I want to try and do a bag once a week every thursday night. I have things that prevent me from using regularly and Thursday night's are the best time. I really can only get bundles and I have to go the city so I can't just get one bag. Every time I buy some I say I am going to save it and don't once I'm high. I know there are safes out there that are time locked to open at whenever the user sets for which I would love but there at least over $100 and I can't afford that. Any ideas of how I could accomplish this? I don't have anyone that could hold it for me.

IMO it's going to be difficult for you to control your use to only once a week if your going to be buying a bundle every time you cop. Not only that, but many people don't have a lot of success with sticking to an opiate using schedule they set for themselves. I'm aware there are exceptions, but from what I've seen most people can only stick to their plan for so long before they are using way more than anticipated. It can be a very slippery slope.

All I can really think of would be to find a friend who wants to keep the same using pattern as you to split the bundle with every week so you don't end up with so much leftover from your weekly session. If you don't have any extra dope in your possession after your session you'll have a better chance not using on back to back days and fucking up your plan. In a perfect world you and your friend would be able to keep each other in check and you could keep each other to your using regimen, but again I truly believe it's playing with fire.

I think you've gotten to that point where already you're struggling to control your usage.
Me, I would hide my stash and because I was fucked up the next day or sometimes weeks
after tearing up the house found it. I would do that with money too. It's easy to say you want
to slow it down but opiates get a grip on you like no other.

I just discovered heroin. I just took it for the second time.

Do you know what I think?

EVERYONE is addicted to heroin.

Most people just haven't tried it yet.

Seriously, this shit is way more addictive than amphetamines. It doesn't just make you confident, productive, and happy. It does so much more.

First off, you pretty much don't feel high, you feel like these emotions are genuine. It's like being 80 years old, looking back on a life of accomplishments and loving people, and being at peace with the world. It's like what you HOPE to get out of life. It's your hopes and dreams coming true. It is the feeling of now being able to die in peace.

And heroin is a MASSIVE FUCKING SHORTCUT to this state of being. And that's scary. Really, really, REALLY scary. Be scared. I mean fucking terrified.

You've discovered the shortcut.

Good. Fucking. Luck.

Edit: Anyone else agree/disagree with this description of it?

^ Even though I don't agree with your statement that everyone is addicted to heroin as some people just don't get the same positive effects that most experience from opiates in general, I do agree with the general idea of your post. It is very hard to forget about how wonderful you feel during your first good high and it becomes something that many have a difficult time abstaining from. Chasing the high is how many become dependent/addicted.

You're chasing a borderline fairy-tale, man. The percentage of heroin users that are able to use like that with any regularity or semi-long term status is soooo small. You might be able to pull it off for a little while, a lot of people do, but then you slowly start breaking your own rules... using twice a week, three times, etc etc... and then one day you wake up dope sick with a habit. Welcome to Fuckedville, USA and heroin is the mayor.

I'm not going to add anything else, because you've got (IMO) lots of experienced answers. I just wanted you to have ONE more post saying I think it's pretty much impossible. Maybe deep down you know this, but it's helpful to have your fears/concerns validated.
Good luck, O.P.

There is, you must have a personality which prefers being high on life/stimulants tho. I know guys who chip demerol and hydromorphone since like 30 years. They never needed bupe or methadone along the way cos they would only use the stuff to sleep/comedown. I'm sure you know vaguely what kind of people I mean and no it's not necessarily meth heads.

It is very hard indeed to control heroin use, I couldn't do it and no one I know could either.
Like most addicts I started with only using it as a Saturday night treat. Kept it like that for a little while and then it was Saturday & Sunday.
Then its weekends and maybe a Wednesday as well, slowly but surely it creeps up on you and before you know it you are using it every day and are addicted.
I bet every addict started thinking they could control their heroin use but the vast majority end up addicted.
My weekend treat turned into a 12year daily use habit. Stop while you still have the chance to.

The guy I mentioned shot up the pure pharms, which imo is stronger and easier to do hefty doses of than heroin. Heroin isn't the strongest opiate out there and it's mostly illegal status in the world is a relic of another time. Almost 3/4 of opioids one can be scripted is as strong or stronger than heroin when IV'd. And they still managed not to fall into the trap, they're the kind of people who are surrounded by friends, girlfriends and a "party" kind of personality who love cocaine and speed + alcohol more than anything else and shoot up those pharms to relax like a chipper at the end of particularly heavy parties.

One of my best friend is like that, I wish I was like him sometimes. But no, now on 60mg methadone and soon will go on suboxone.

The sad thing is I never saw heroin in my life. It is very rare in Montreal because it's just too damn expensive. Think 3 times what someone would pay for a g in NY. Just not worth it when Hydromorph Contins, Dilaudid, Demerol and MS- IR's/Statex flood the market.

Word of truth.

Like everyone else said, it's not going to happen. That point can't be driven home enough. If you have to ask yourself, let alone someone else, you're already at the event horizon.

Best of luck with your decisions, though. I hope that you do end up being able to control it.

Absolutely not true. My girlfriend, for instance, has received IV shots of heroin from myself on many occasions and never showed even the slightest sign of becoming addicted, ever. Not a single sign. I've probably shot her up with heroin about 10 times, and now that i quit she'll probably never even see it again. Which is fine, she never thinks about it all.

It's actually a psychological imbalance that happens shortly after birth. Tim Leary calls it the biosurvival circuit. People who have very positive psychological imprinting at this stage of development will likely never be in danger of becoming addicted to opiates or escapist drugs. Heroin turns on that area of the mind that is associated with a mothers nurture, or the security of being in the womb, and there are plenty of people who don't need a drug to feel secure.

yeah i def agree i did the same thing for years used once a week and never had any withdrawl symptoms nada, its just hard to keep that up, and not do the two times a week, every other day, everyday, oh wait im fucked cycle

Yes, Jack Burton is the main character from Big Trouble in Little China, great movie.

The only way I can even remotely think of to keep heroin use recreational with the constraints you have (no friend to hold, buy a bundle at a time) is to not go the IV route, but even snorting or smoking it is still going to go past recreational at some point. When I started I could make a bag last 4 days through insufflation, but 6 months later I had to give that up due to doing 2 bags at a time. Enter the needle, and the rest is history. Took an OD 8 years ago to finally get me off that particular scary-go-round.

I suppose you could have a friend hide your stash in your house/apt if they dont want to hold it, and only tell you where a bag or two is once a week, but if you're anything like me, you'll tear that fucker apart looking for it if you are fiending bad enough, or blow up his phone until he gives in and tells you where it is so you'll leave him alone.
