One of the problems is the chain from grower to your average dealer seems to have got a fair bit longer these days. I get on reasonably well with my guy and we often have frank chats, he does about 2.2g 20s most of the time, and said this is normally the most he can do cos the guy he gets it off charges about 220+ an oz normally. And this guy buys the weed off someone else, price goes up and up the further down the chain it goes. Until about 6 months ago had a lad selling full 3.5gs for 20, but that was because he was mates with some people running a huge grow op, which got busted
 
What your dealers tell you they pay per ounce as they hand over your 0.7 is likely to be higher than what they actually pay.

Even if the dealer is your mate.
 
I'm sure it must be the case in some situations that it's simply gone through many hands pushing the price up, but that simply cannot hold true for everyone. £10/0.7g seems to be more or less standard across most if not all of the country now. Other than a few folk who presumably have known their dealer for years and/or are buying reasonably direct from source. I know prices on ounces I've been quoted here can get sillyhigh. £10/g all the way up at one point 8(

So true haha, I first got into weed proper back in '05 and 3.5g for 20 was pretty standard with cute little 1.5g 'ten bags' for the kiddies who'd been good and saved up their pocket money. People would complain if they 'only' got 3.0g

How it doubles in price in 8 years is beyond me, certainly not in line with the rate of inflation. Should complain to the weed council or something.
 
Somewhat bizarrely, the only people I know of round here who still smoke weed fairly regularly are kiddies, Inso. Is pretty hard to get booze for 'em as there are so few shops selling it and such a small place everybody knows who's underaged. Much easier to get a tenner together for a bit o' weed for the night and it's still enough to keep a coupla kiddies happy for the night. It's the adults who're getting priced out the market. Very high unemployment here so everybody's skint and no cunt can afford to smoke anymore. Don't really know anybody who smokes weed regularly other than schoolkids and the dealer tbh. Ridiculous state of affairs :\

PS: Not suggesting anyone sells direct to kiddies, mind. Older brothers/sisters/mates probably actually buy it.
 
its fucking frustrating having to deal with under-weighed bags the majority of the time then getting real top notch stuff straight from the source a few times a year. It always seems that all the nice stuff is available at the same time then its mostly damp buds that haven't been flushed or grown properly for the rest of the year.
 
You would think that unless you are close to the grower/op then your not gonna get the prime buds, and at any rate people will be buying that stuff up in quantity knowing what people will pay for very average skunk.

If it was your mate I'm pretty sure you could trust him to tell you. You'd probably see him counting up the money to buy his next oz when you're round his house and shit too.
 
My regular dealer doesn't tell me what he pays (I wouldn't ask, none of my fucking business) but I do believe him when he tells me that he needs to charge what he does (£60 a q, slightly overweight, to me. £10 a g to others) for it to be even slightly worth his while. He apologises almost every time he sells me some. I know for a fact that he doesn't have tons of cash so can't be making loads. Someone is taking the piss, but I don't believe it's the £10/g guy, it's someone higher up selling bulk at horrendously over-inflated prices.


Edit - I also know that he only sells it because he smokes it. He wouldn't waste his time doing it purely for money as there isn't enough to be made (for him).
 
Oz prices for weed here now vary from....

Silver Haze (old) - €250/oz
Blueberry/Mazar - €300/oz
Amnesia Haze - €350/oz
Chocolope/Critical Kush - €400/oz

Maroc Polm - €200/oz
 
I know that's been an issue here in the past, PTCH. Is a tiny place (I may have mentioned that once or twice) and everyone of a certain age/type is a wannabe dealer. Just ends up with 'em basically cobbling together enough cash for a pretty small amount really then selling back and forth to each other (with the price going up and the amount going down cos they dip the fuck outta it for personal use) until it ends up with everybody paying stupid prices for underweight deals. Got so silly that even the local kiddies don't bother trying it anymore and there's just the one guy selling to everybody - but the deals are still shitty and overpriced :\
 
It would make perfect sense of the 0.7 for a tenner shit. 1.0 for a tenner. 0.3 for yourself. 0.7 to someone else for a tenner.

I know that's part of the reason "grams" of coke were sold at 0.7 round here. Buy an 8th but sell 5 grams. It then became normal for people to expect 0.7 minimum as a gram. Even having it weighed in front of them, as long as the scales went above 0.70 then they were happy with their gram. Some folk would step their game up/undercut the competition by saying "My grams are 0.9" as a selling point haha.
 
Hahahaha! Yup. Have had that sales pitch too - "I'll give you 0.8 cos you're a mate!". Gee, "thanks" 8)

Can see how it could get to 0.7 cos amateurs are just helping themselves to a freebie each time but higher up the chain that kinda shit doesn't tend to fly. Is odd that it's become so ubiquitous at more or less any "street level" type dealing of any and all drugs sold in grammes. I guess once the extra profit/free drugs got noticed and nobody much was kicking up a fuss people just carried on with the free lunch. Buyers made doormats of themselves so dealers wipe their shitty feet on 'em :\

Pricey indeed. But availability and variety seem to be pretty damn good. Although I'm sure the absence of both in my case is purely cos of where I live. Suppose it must be better in more populated areas in terms of having some idea of what it is you're actually paying for - and maybe even having choices 8o - rather than here where it's "Cheese/Blue Cheese" no matter what it is. Tis usually pretty decent weed but certainly not always and it makes sod all difference to what you have to pay neither :\
 
Btw, as far as weed is concerned, I have a mate who got away with a possession charge, as opposed to dealing, for 8 ounces. So to hear people talking of 'dealing in grams' just sounds a little...wrong.

Doesn't dealing start at 4 ounces? I'm not talking legally, I'm talking accepted street definitions.
 
One bloke i know sells .8 for a tenner of decent weed, i asked him what he pays for a oz and he said £180. If he isn't bullshitting it means he would make £100 per oz if he sold full grams, what a cunt. I used to make £50 a oz max when i sold it years ago. I know of another dealer that buys 2 or 3 kilos at a time and he rekons he pays £160 all the way. He sells it on for £240 all the way so he's making £80 on every ounce, what a cunt. From what i've seen it's not the grower taking the piss.

The quality of the weed is still really good at the moment though, i haven't seen shit weed for a long time it's just all over priced. Still better than cheap shit weed though imo.
