Anyone else see the story on channel 10 news in Perth about PMMA being passed off as ecstasy? Nice to see a Pill Report on the evening news :)
 
nope, was at work when the news was on.. did they mention what pill contained PMMA? (through my circle of friends) there's not many 'dodgy' pills goin around at the moment.. if any really

what about those brown hearts at the NYE doof."they contain MDMA and tryptamine.they make you mung out like mdma for and you trip out for about 2-3 hours"
 
Yeah supposedly they are white/grey with black speckles and the logo is an E. According to the police they are around in "large quanties" but I have yet to hear of anyone being offered any.

hahaha yeah forgot about them.. fuck, I nearly grabbed a couple purely because I thought they would be 2cb :p (I've never had 2cb and have been pretty keen to try it) that is, until she mentioned what she wanted for em :|

Looks like the same ones were going around in september last year. Dont know if they've reappeared or just that the police are sloooooow in releasing something about it.

LOL "im the ONLY person at the doof with pills."10 mins later we find pills but my dickhead mate fuucked up the deal n the guy sold em to somone else :( cant belive i went to sleep so early :( def made up for that at the last doof tho ;)

Deadly 'new' drug hits Perth streets - sold as ecstasy (PMMA)

A DEADLY drug which has claimed five lives in the UK in as many weeks and at least one person in Queensland has hit Perth streets in large quantities.

Police today issued a warning to the community about the dangerous substance which they say may be selling as ecstasy.

The dangerous substance is called para-methoxy-N-methylamphetamine (PMMA) and is typically sold as either grey mottled tablets, or a mixture of grey tablets and powder tablet fragments, or grey off-white powders.

Some recent samples of PMMA were stamped with an “E” and there has been one reported sample which detected methylamphetamine along with PMMA.

The first positive result in WA for the drug was in September 2012, but that has now risen to nine samples which have returned a positive result.

PMMA has been attributed to the deaths of five people in the United Kingdom over the past five weeks.

The death of a Queensland man was also attributed to PMMA in September last year.

PMMA is a prohibited drug, meaning it is a criminal offence to possess, sell or supply it.

“Anyone in possession of such substances is advised to avoid taking the drugs and to destroy them immediately,” police said in a statement today.

at least the cops had the decency to actually describe and publish pics of these on the news sites, I tip my hat to them.

Just had a quick browse of pillreports and noticed theres no reports of these as yet. I wonder if it would be prudent to put a warning and pics on there?
 
Yep, would be a good idea. Surprising they haven't been reported on over there. The student 14 is a mod over there, he might doit, or you can if you have the time, I'm sure it would be appreciated.

The police say they are in large quantities so I guess these would probably be in other states too.

thanks for posting this dude u could of saved some lives :) they look fucking rank i would never but them.they look like they have poppy seeds in em haha.THIS is why i dont use pills anymore (well the odd pill off my VERY trusted dealer and after regant testing them) its just too much of a risk using pills without testing them these days you dont know what your getting.even if you do get a positive result for mdma u still dont know whats in them.if you using the 2 main testers (mandelin and marquis)
 
I remember that report now, the guy that died is from around my area. The effects sound fucking horrid!! due to the initial time of 10-15 mins to start feeling effects, PMA usually takes much longer, I wonder if theres some MD in them to fool testers?

I think a new report on PR would be a good idea
 
PMAA was sold in 2011 in the UK as Benzo Fury in mass and there were heaps of people who went down after taking a "Benzo Fury" TM pill over the summer festival season. Cheap and easy to produce compared to 6-apb it flooded into the UK from China and ED's were flooded with the results. Sounds like PMAA as PMAA is reported to be subjectivly more similar to MDMA but like any para-analogue it's fucking toxic shit! Hope this stuff is not going to flood the ozzie market. Thanks for the pill ID you may have saved some people a trip to ED or worse. Fuck MDMA I've given up on the stuff. To depressing after a big night out, the rollbacks, nausea, lack of coordination at least for the first few hours (until the MDMA metabolizes to MDA anyways YAYAY!!) Just a bit boring and not worth the risk of suicide. Also cops hate dealing with OD's as they are often the ones on the scene with the paramedics while someone fights for their life due to a toxic reaction to a toxic drug. It is in their best interest to publish this info as it comes to hand. Trust me police hate having to be involved in paramedic situations such as assults, OD's, MVA's, psychotic mental health clients etc. They have bugger all training and knowledge of these situations other than very basic life support and maybe a day seminar on mental health. I do repect their job but it ends once they dump the person in an approved mental health facility, hospital ED or anywhere else but the watch house. Duty of care ends and it's now another departments problem, the health department. Nice to know when Qld nurses are being sacked from all major and some rural hospitals. Fuck working in the Royal Brisbane on Saturday night in ED! I have so I know what goes on and how hard the poor medical staff have to work to try and save these people and lack of education about the thousands of new RC's becoming available is causing misdiagnosis and poor treatment outcomes due to lack of proper identification and treatment regime for drug x rather than assuming drug x is MDMA, treating it as such and the patient does not survive their OD.... Food for though health departments.
