How many mg of ritalin orally.

So I have 9 pills each 5mg each, all together 45 mg. If I take all of them orally will I achieve a nice high, I can't snort them because I have a very stuffed up nose.

Assuming you don't have a tolerance, 5-15mg is a good starting dose. We don't cater to "how do I get the most high?" type questions here but we do discuss dosing in general. I'll move this over to Basic Drug Discussion since its just a dosing question.

I recommend that you do not take all 45mg at once.

Methylphenidate does not produce a high for most people. Follow ^ protocol until you get the desired effect, if you do at all.

the methylphenidates eh? Let me tell you what. if those are IR I would be taking around 30mg orally and bumping the rest nasally as the hours go by :s

To reiterate what neighbourhoodthreat said, with no tolerance around 10mg would be a good starting dose. Also, compared to other stimulants methylphenidate doesn't create quite as much euphoria but it really all depends on the person.

I definitely wouldn't start with 45mg if you aren't experienced with Ritalin. It can have some nasty side effects and different people have very different sensitivities to it, so I would really recommend around 10mg like others have said. Honestly even 10mg doesn't agree with me and gives me an awful come-down, but I am extra sensitive so 10mg should be ok for most people.

I've taken ritalin like 5 times. the last time I did it I snorted 6 pills(30mg) but I know that you dont get as high when its orally so i was gonna take 40 or 45 mg

45mg at once isn't worth the horrid comedown, take like 10 or 20mg and boost 5mg doses

edit: just got done doing 360mg of methylphenidate TimeRelease concertas over like 40 hours or some shit.. you won't die but high doses come with big comedowns if you dose too quickly.. and it gets compulsive

edit2:you CAN die i mean, I think it would be a waste and shitty comedown to take 45mg at once.. unless time release

I say stick with 30-35mg orally. Any more and you're just going to increase the negative effects without adding to the positive ones. Methylphenidate isn't that great anyways.

PLUG THAT SHIT!

Plugging is the way to go for ritalin! I recently had a bunch of it with no tolerance, I had to take 4-5 to get high and would only have to plug 1-1.5 maybe 2 once I got used to the drug. Absorbs into your blood very quickly and peak effects are achieved within 20-30min. The bioavailability for oral ritalin is rather low, the the rectal BA is very very high! I was calling it 'the next best thing to shooting' when I was doing it last. You get so much more out of your ritalin, no other way is worth it really. It was oh soo easy to speed through all 48 of my 10mg pills, plugging away into the night... a week straight untill they were all gone (I'd stop and sleep). Man that fast onset was fucking nice.

45mg not ok starting dose for IR pills, will almost guaranteed cause anxiety. Start with 15, 20 tops I think.
