Drug use and appearance

How is it rude to move your thread to a more suited place?

And also, I don't know what meth heads you are around, or if you're just watching the meth noy even once adverts, but 99% of them don't have "fucked up faces". Don't generalise on a single person.

You mods are sensitive, i wrote the word rude and you guys get so offended. Well i apologize for saying "rude" i just can't think of any kinder word than that. Also it is normal for meth addicts to have scars/acne, and not the best teeth in the world. Therefore almost every one of them that i knew, did not look the most amazing, they had yellow teeth that were falling out or crooked from meth mouth, and they had scars on their face from what i think was from picking at their face.

I've definitely always been told like I don't look like a drug user at all. I guess people have really strong ideas about what addicts look like and so the couple people I've informed about my heroin use just don't believe me because I look 'normal'...ie clean and healthy. Well I have massive shadows under my eyes and my eyes themselves usually look pretty weird and glazed (not to mention the pinned pupils) but I guess people just think I don't sleep much. It's cool cuz it means I never get asked uncomfortable questions when I'm trying to buy drugs OTC =D

dont judge a book buy its cover some people clearly look like total heads. than theres other people that are hardcore crack heads or pill heads and you wouldnt be able too telll at glance people that totally look like some professional. my bud new a meth head that tweaked all the time. this guy ate healthy always worked out and other wise treated his body like a temple he was a meth head you never woulda known though

Yeah, "normal" for Meth addicts who have been strung out for years and never bothered with hygiene after they discovered the power of the substance.

My old Meth dealer was like that. Hed smoke a bowl every few hours of the day everyday, had a good job, worked out, ate healthy, normal sleep cycle, all that jazz, and he had no repercussions of a 7 year Meth addiction. If nothing crazy happened in his life, Im sure hes still going at it today.

I always have the experience of being surprised how good i look in the mirror on meth expecting to look more fucked up like how i feel. Just those eyes fascinate me, i cant look any relatives in the face most of the time.

Never noticed any scars though.

Anyways, interesting title. Another interesting question would be how many meth users have scars on their hands.

Wow. Okay, so, I'm currently addicted to both meth and heroin. The only thing I've noticed is that the higher I am, the more time I spend on my appearance. It's like I have to make sure the mask is in place. When I'm sober, I don't give a shit. And one of the things I first liked about H was how it pins my pupils when they're all dilated from smoking meth. I've used meth off and on for about 20 years, and heroin only for the last 2. I've always made a point of taking care of myself though. Sleep every night,(or at least every other night,) drink lots of water, and eat every day. Showering and brushing my teeth just goes without saying. But when I'm really high is when I'll spend hours doing my hair & make-up. Anyone who's known me for a long time probably realizes that the nicer I look, the more f-d up I am.

I don't know, I look pretty good on amphetamines, even after going out dancing for hours and hours! I don't look good on MDMA though.

Sometimes i stare at my reflection for a few minutes thinking i'm the shit on amps

The only people I can't get a good read on are the ones who have their drug use down to a science and have it in good balance with every other part of their lives.

This is how I like to think people view me. I've been a white collar professional for over 30 years and I keep it under wraps pretty well. You'd really have to know what to look for to have any idea I'm on Opana and Oxy. No one other than my family know what I take, legally of course, and I try very hard to keep it that way. Who needs others knowing that and scrutinizing your behavior and ready to call you on it. NOPE, not doin' it.

Physical appearance: The only time I get caught with suspicion from family is when I do real stupid shit, like opiates or meph 5/7 nights in a row. I try not to do that shit anymore.

As for how I dress, stoner garb I guess? Usually jeans or cords with a black hoodie... I do rock the bic'd noggin, sadly no more long locks for me. I couldn't give a fuck if someone thinks I'm a pothead though, seeing as how such a high % of the population indulges.

I only look different when I've been up a few days slamming the goods. However, when I return to work you can't even tell that I look differetn except for some minor weight loss. I gain that weight back within two days after I come down. I slam large doses while I'm using for the hard rush I enjoy, so I get super fucked up.

no one looks at me and guesses I would even smoke weed. I like to keep it this way. Nice clean polite white boy

same here. clean cut, glasses, plain clothes. no one would guess. Little do they know i smoke TONS

i prefer to keep it this way. I've never had an employer drug test me.

Drug use has certainly affected the way I look and the way others around me look. The main culprits are Meth and heroin, oh and even more than those two drugs alcohol and tobacco of course. Actually alcohol is number 1 in my books and smoking 2. You can tell an alcoholic a mile away. Of course this doesn't apply to all alcoholics, many go their whole lives as addicts while keeping up their reular appearance just the same as some people manage their heroin and meth use and still look normal.

Its not the drugs themselves that make people look different but its what the drugs make people do that's what changes them. For me the drug that has affected my appearance the most is meth due to sleep deprivation and not eating for days at a time. When I was a full-on opiate addict the thing that made me look so bad was mostly that id choose the drugs over food and sleep so I got skinny and started looking the part(ie like a junky).

Now I still look older than I am(im 23 this August) but I look much better than I did and the reason is because I now eat healthy food and get as much sleep as I can. When im using meth I make myself eat and sleep and that makes a big difference. Meth is a hard one though because even if you do eat and sleep, it eventually makes you look pretty crappy, well me at least. To someone who has a good eye for it would be able to tell if Id had only one shot of meth the day prior because it takes so much out of me, this is mostly due to the fact that ive used a ton of meth in my lifetime and the negatives have become much more pronounced over the years. Its important tht I take vitamins as well as food and sleep because most of the negative physical aspects of post-use of meth comes from a lack of some kind of vitamin and the persons own responsibility of cleaning their teeth, showering etc I inject my meth but for the people who smoke it ive seen those people lose a whole mouth full of teeth in a year. I brush my teeth and take magnesium so that im not grinding and clenching my teeth(I mainly take them everyday for restless legs syndrome(RLS) and it works wonders) and my teeth are still pretty good.

With the opiates which are my main thing, I can use and look normal the next day. As I said its just the eating and sleeping that I need to get enough of otherwise I look pretty crappy the day after. When I was using everyday it was definitely noticeable that I was a "junky" but that's because I didn't take care of myself, not because of the drugs per-se. I didn't eat or sleep, didn't brush my teeth much, didn't shower as often as I should have and so I ended up looking like crap.

Much of the damage people do can be reversed, sometimes it cant but now that I take care of myself I look a lot younger and much healthier than I did when I was using often and not taking care of myself. Sometimes it makes me a bit sad when people think im 25-30 but I think a part of it is that I looked older than I am before I started using drugs. Smoking cigs and pot have also contributed im sure, not good for your skin or anything really.

Anyway ive gone pretty far into this so my short answer is yes drugs can vastly change your appearance in a relatively short amount of time, it just depends on what kind of drugs your using. Ive never seen someones appearance changed due to psychedelics so yeah, theres a lot that comes into the equasion when a persons appearance is changing because of drugs.

I look about ten years younger than my actual age and have a very innocent look about me. But I usually wear black t's and jeans and cut my hair short and dyed it an "unnatural" hair color. So I guess it depends. But about a year ago, no one would guess in a million years that I even knew what a drug was, just judging my appearance. Now a days, I'm not sure what people think.... Probably still have the innocent look. No one I know suspects I do drugs at all.

When people see me on an H binge though they constantly tell me how tired I look and ask if I'm sick. I once got asked by my mom if I was on drugs because I was scratching but I just denied it and gave her a weird look. I'm not sure if she even knows that scratching is a side effect of drugs or just happened to ask or what.

I'm very ashamed to say that when I'm on meth which is my doc along with opiates but anyways I go with out bathing I lose everything i own 2summers ago I lost my only pair pf flip flips and had to walk around bare foot with fuckin track marks and filthy clothes and it makes me so sick lookin back . I have been of it for a year now minus a one week slip up four months ago.

Look better on Adderall?

I have had an adderall prescription for almost half a year (20mg), and I take off and on, but I do in fact have a solid tolerance built up.

Anyway, in the first couple hours after the come on, I feel like I look a lot better (yeah towards the end I look like a zombie). I know it dehydrates you, so it reduces face puffiness, but that isn't all of it I'm sure. There is something with the eyes. It's not like intense pupil dilation. If my pupils are dilated, it is hardly noticeable, but I feel like I look much more alive and there. It's almost like my skin tone has improved as well. Does anyone know the cause of this? I know people that have super healthy diets and juice every day can get better complexions and such. My diet is pretty good even if not varied enough. I subsist on chicken, fish, eggs, almonds, broccoli, green beans, extra virgin olive oil, extra virgin coconut oil, and occasional protein shakes (Universal milk & egg blend) during the week and eat more crappy things on the weekend. I also take a good mult, vit D, and fish oil every day, so I would think I should be healthier than most, but I still look better when I take the pill. Does anyone know the answer to this? If you just meditate a lot and become naturally happy with a good diet, is it possible to get this full of life look to you? Or close to it? I have started mediating a few weeks ago, and it does help some, so I will be quitting adderall after a few weeks when I graduate. Just looking for theories on this. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure it's all in your head that you "look better". Adderall (and pretty much all stims) release large amounts of dopamine which make you feel good/confident/euphoric. When you feel good, you radiate positive energy which is maybe why you get compliments, etc.

It's all fake, and caused by the drug, which is why amphetamines are so addictive. Don't get me wrong, if you take it as prescribed and you didn't lie to your doc to get it it probably will benefit your life, but as you said, once you start abusing you "look like a zombie."
