Hash Oil Causes Blast, Hurts 3 Near SeaWorld in SD

An explosion tore through a hotel near SeaWorld San Diego where a couple was allegedly extracting hash oil, sending guests fleeing for safety and putting three people in the hospital, authorities said.

A 22-year-old man in the room suffered life-threatening injuries in the Wednesday explosion at the three-story Heritage Inn Sea World Hotel, authorities said. Also hurt were a woman in the room and a young man staying next door.

Investigators found several boxes containing canisters of butane inside the room where the blast occurred, police Lt. Joseph Ramos said.

The butane apparently was ignited by a cigarette, Fire-Rescue Department spokesman Maurice Luque said. The second-floor room looked like a "war zone," he said.

But good weed is often 15% THC or more nowadays, so how could a drop or two of hash oil be as potent as a joint?
I think this number must be wrong.
My other evidence: smoking a few drops of hash oil in one large hit (my first time smoking hash oil), I got so high that I could only roll around on the floor for 2 hours. I felt like I was on LSD. After 2 hours, I came down enough to just feel like I was "really stoned".
 
Hash oil is generally more than 50% cannabinoids by weight, if it's prepared correctly with a nonpolar solvent.

This is why i always tell people, no fucking open flames near butane. I don't care how hot a cigarette ember is, I don't want to take that risk.
 
Yea # is some bullshit 15% THC wtfever.... People wouldnt waste the time making hash oil if it was lower than their fucking weed.
 
ive stayed at that hotel acouple times, makes me wonder if ive met the people involved cause i use to no someone over there that was doing the same thing

when i was learnin n doin oil i learned from tokecity,com

not even sure if its still up but it had a lot of good info n alot of experienced knowledgable poster

one of the best/most reveared posters was HMK who is the dude who invented the ti pad/bell curve for smokin oil outta water pipes

he was gettin shit that was 90% pure THC ( i think it was 90 n if it wasnt 90 then it was some higher number, been a few years since i was around TC so i dunno)

i know sayin i saw some dude on some forums online who was claimin 90+% isnt official at all n sounds stupid but this dude was legit

i kid i used to work with was makin oil at a buddies house a month or so ago n fireballed the kitchen/ coulda blew up the house, dumb ass was usin a gas stove to purge the shit, A FUCKIN LIT GAS STOVE. i tried to tell him how to make oil properly n offered to give him a tutorial (aside from usin flames to purge ge was usin a goddamn modified rx pill bottle as a tube) n he declined n said he didnt need help or instruction, dude doesnt like me cuz he knows i had a thing for his girl awhile back ago even tho i never really made a move cuz i was in a relationship n thats not how i roll but there was alot of sexual tension b/w me n his girl for awhile but that died down

but its these people like him n the dude n the story SMOKIN A CIG WHILST EXTRACTING that make hash oil such a dangerous process n there for illegal n some places (obv hash oil is illegal everywhere MJ is illegal but didnt the cali med dispensaries pass some law saying BHO was illegal at dispensaries n that the oil sold had to be CO2 extracted?) even tho i doubt all the dispensaries abide by that, i would assume alot just get BHO n say it was CO2 extracted
 
i think ive read hash oil recorded from 10% up to 80-90% (budder hitting the 90s range). I thought butane mostly got THC rather than cannabinoids and that ISO got more cannabinoids but i don't really know the chemistry. I do QWISO and it works fucking amazing, get almost clear oil but it is fucking dangerous to make if you don't know what you're doing.

If you are stupid or high, you should not be making hash oil. I stopped doing it once i realized i had really shitty ventilation in my kitchen. i was also really fucked up one time and making hash oil in the middle of the night with a bottle of ISO sitting next to the stove but i caught myself before i accidentally spilled it or something. Needless to say i don't make hash oil very often.

butane is even more safe than iso as it evaporates at normal temps, so u can just leave it outside or something, how someone blows up a butane extraction is beyond me, with a cigarette that is stupid and reckless.

i dunno bout that personally, i mean BHO evapes faster n all one needs is warm water underneath to speed up the process

but Iso alc ivapes pretty fast as is at room temps, i mean you may be right but i dont think you should be making oil peroid if your in that much of a hurry n are that desperate to speed up the process

just chill, smoke a bowl (AWAY FROM THE SOLVENTS N WHERE YOU'RE WORKING) be patient n enjoy the fruits of your labor later
