UK - ‘Exorcist’ danger drug 2CB just a click away on net

The media never demonize alcohol like they do with illegal drugs even though alcohol destroys the lives of 120 million people worldwide. Whenever an issue with alcohol comes up the media simply say we need to educate the public.

It's no different to abortion really. I've never heard the media ever demonise abortion.

But they demonise homosexuals/lesbians (they still do albeit to a lesser extent than before) and "illicit" drugs. I say "illicit" as in technically illegal, even though I don't give a fuck about a drug's legal status. As if any of these are worse than abortion?! Sorry, abortion is at least an order of magnitude worse than these other issues, yet it gets ignored. To 30% of the population it is cold blooded murder...and I'd agree with some of those sentiments because there is a certain degree of planning involved. NOBODY chooses to be a homosexual, they have as much choice over their sexual orientation as someone has over their fucking eye color. Abortion, on the other hand, except for the marginal cases (<2% ) involving certain compelling justifications (rape, medical), is most assuredly a freely determined choice.

I'll bet dollars to donuts that many cases of substance abuse are not really choices either, but rather some attempt to stop psychological pain either to escape or as some form of coping mechanism. That's not what I'd call a real choice either.

It's my view that abortion is part of an agenda...or there is too much money involved...most likely BOTH. Like alcohol - there is too much money being made for the media to dare criticize it's use and abuse.
Either way you slice it, it looks like the so-called "neo-nazis" are winning...but how long will they be winning? Hopefully they start losing their unwinnable war and their unjustifiable agenda.

Attempting to stop psychological pain is not a choice? This makes no sense to me, but if it is not a choice, then neither is abortion, which is also an attempt to stop (perceived future) pain. Abortion is most definitely escape (from a particular fate and the pain/problems associated with it).

I see both as choices, without any doubt in my mind.
I consider abortions to be sad, but can enjoy and appreciate drug use.
However, I understand that not everyone will share my opinions.
Both issues are similar in that they are subtle and both sides are easy to argue, and therefore one cannot declare that one's moral standard should apply to all people.
Therefore, both should be legal, with careful, science-based education freely available so that people can decide for themselves.
This is the meaning of freedom.
This is the meaning of the right to the pursuit of happiness.
