haha, no stealth editing, I have always thought I was self aware.

I'm a bit :sus: about the film thread reappearing, or maybe I really just did miss it on the first page of EADD, nevermind, beef over, thread found, posted in it.
 
you mean the recommend a film thread that tanked. there's a normal film thread, you could just post your recommend in that, it's where everybody posts anything film related after all
 
I had high hopes for that film club thread. Unfortunately it coincided with me losing me interwebz access for a while (again :|) or I'd probably quite happily recommend films to meself and then discuss 'em with meself even if nobody else joined in.
 
Might just dig out the old one at some point. Would be better for me when watching films is less of an irritating prospect though. I suspect less general faffing about and getting straight to the point a bit quicker may help it stay afloat if resurrected. Or not but maybe worth a try.
 
This thread's gone like the coat room at a party... mugz and shambo talking and edging closer on the bed while people pop in, clock the scene and duck back round the door :D

Told ya, Mugz. I'd have to keep stopping the film to let me lappy cool down which would do my noggin. Spoils the flow, dontcha know. Things may be looking up in that area though so will get back to ya.
 
How would that work as I'd still be needing to play it on me lappy anyway unless I burnt it to disc which I never do cos I never watch 'em more than once really. Although you did just remind me that I may even have such cables around somewhere. Might not come in handy right now but might well in future. Would be great to watch stuff on a proper telly again instead of on me lappy screen.

Hopefully my immediate 'puter woes are coming to an end in the not hugely distant. But y'all know how I love a good moan so will milk the misery for all it's worth in the meantime ;)
 
hey mugz is it as simple as plugging a hdmi/hdmi cable from computer to tv and then selecting the source input or do you need anything else?

you could then rest your lappy on a surface with vents or lean it on the edge so it doesn't get too hot and you could watch the whole film without it bursting into flames

pretty much from my experience yeah, if you are using VGA you need a audio input/output cable too. HDMI should cover both though.
 
Ah! Well it's already propped up with all vents clear. It's just the heat from being on at all with no fan to cool it down at all. Gets hot enough to heat the room up even with plenty air around the vents and shuts down at regular intervals if I don't intervene beforehand. On the plus side at least it cools down pretty quickly so could be worse.
 
Wtf is this thread about? All i can see are declarations of love for meat.
