no way man! i think Sansa and Bran have less chances of making it than Arya does. Arya the Lone Wolf, Queen in the North is total Endgame.

Ye and Ned was Lord of Winterfell, Warden of the North; [spoil]Rob was KING in the North[/spoil]. It's GRRM we're talking about!

Well, someone important and likable is gonna get it.

^ This would be total, optimal, awesome outcome.

I just picked up the novels and am going to rewatch the first two seasons after I finish A Clash of Kings. That'd bring me up to where Season 2 ends, ya?

if those are GRRMs guidelines, the series will end and there won't be a single person left standing in all of the seven kingdoms, even Hodor will eat shit.

It seems to me this is basically what he's doing. He's written himself into a corner and his solution has been to just kill more characters and then invent new ones, leaving most of the characters and plot lines that hooked us in the beginning to dangle hopelessly (or vanish entirely, into death) while forcing us to sift through literally hundreds of pages describing what people ate at a particular meal. This show is going to quickly catch up with the books, and then I really have no idea what will happen. George R. R. Martin should pull an epic act of metatextual commentary, kill himself (no one saw that one coming!) and let someone else finish the series in a timely fashion and with less effusive descriptions of the Salads of Westeros.

IMO, A Dance with Dragons was devoted almost entirely to untying knots, so that he could bring the plot to where he wanted it to be for the final two books. I believe he has already written himself out of the corners he made for himself, and that the series will return to at the very least Clash of Kings style epicness in Winds of Winter.

I heard the other day on a YouTube video that the book author George RR Martin wants to ''disappear'' when ''a certain episode'' airs television. He fears fans will be mad like they were when daddy Stark was killed off near the beginning.

I think I know what he's talking about but not posting it here, for fear of spoiling if you have not read the books.

Note the original title of that was supposed to be: [SPOIL]A Time for Wolves[/SPOIL]

NSFW:
Wolves of Winter, actually.

Yeah, I'm a goddamn superfan too!!

Are you thinking of the forthcoming Dunk & Egg novel? That's She-Wolves of Winterfell, IIRC.

The Westeros Wiki claims the 7th (now) book was what I stated. I said 6th book, so I was mistaken, it'll be the 7th book now (although the # of books have changed before, and may change again).

Oh shit, you're right. The Wolves of Winter was something I read on Westeros.org, where somebody happened to be misquoting the original title. This was before She-Wolves of Winterfell, so it was just an error.

it's getting real y'all.

HBO just released some season 3 pics. What do book fans think of the new cast members? At least, now that some of them can be seen in their GOT's garb?
IMO....... The Queen of Thorns looks perfect, Blackfish doesn't really fit the mental picture, but OK. Thoros of Myr seems wrong in a lot of ways, but the actor still looks kind of cool. Dondarrion looks about right.
Jojen looks just about perfect. Little Grandfather. But, Meera? NO. Not at all. She doesn't look right, and in the picture she's got a bow? There's not many characters with stronger ties to their weapons than her with her spear and net. To somehow bypass that would be weird. Not horribly so, but somewhat.
