I know a lot of people say when they abused the drug they would get brain zaps.
Would it be possible to get it after just doing it once?

Possible? Maybe, if you take a heroic dose. Otherwise I'd say it's very unlikely.

Maybe yeah after a long session, they go away after a few days though nothing to worry about.

I got them after a long break and then being greedy, funny at first but then annoying. Took a fortnight for them to stop, towards the end they only happened if I was tired, high off weed,or just woke up. Get plenty of rest and look after yourself.

I've had brain zaps from MDMA use but it was due to sheer exhaustion and sleep deprivation. Stimulants keep me awake a long time after the high wears off so I have to be careful of the dose otherwise it gets kind of tweaky and zappy. For me these tend to accompany unsmooth transitions in the visual field when I look around.

The one and only time I've ever experienced true brain zaps was after about the 8th or 9th time I'd used, but like Foreigner I think sleep deprivation and exhaustion played a part in that too, since I'd been at a festival and on the go for about five days. Since then I always take an omega 3 and 6 supplement and magnesium in the days following a roll, and no repeat incidents since.

I got zap a lot of times when I was using (Haven't in a few years).
I got them a lot, but I also abused a lot, I got mainly from MDMA and got it a lot...I was new to drugs and totally freaked out when it happened quite a lot, actually ended up in hospital...

I got it really bad though.
My abuse was beyond abuse though, 3 sometimes 4 days of steady MDMA, normally mixed with some speed and coke.

It does go away though..it isn't anything I would worry about if you don't abuse, but I do think I had more long term effects, the zaps were 1 warning to tell me to calm down.

After a large dose of MDMA you may very well get brain zaps. For example with these Dutch beans kicking about now (150 to 210mg) Id' say if you had 4 or more of those you may get the zaps regardless of whether it's your first time or not.

Not everybody gets brain zaps. I have binged on MDMA a lot and never had them. It is a person to person thing and unfortunately we cannot tell you how likely it is it'll happen to you.

I think it also has to do with the kind of MDMA you take, I would get them after a certain type of molly and never after mints

i thought md was md? if its not md then its not md?

can someone please define 'brain zap'? is it just slang for feeling off/ill is wha?

Nah, a brain zap feels like, well, a brain zap. When I experienced them, it was on about the Wednesday or Thursday after having taken MDMA the previous Friday and Saturday. As I was starting to fall asleep, I'd feel like a jolt of electricity passed through my brain, accompanied by a loud 'Bzzzt!' in my head. The zap would cause my whole body to twitch, and would temporarily disturb my vision and coordination. It wasn't painful, per se, but the feeling was very disconcerting because it truly does feel like your brain is being momentarily electrified. I went from having one every minute or two that night, to bigger spaces the next night, and so forth. Luckily I only had them for about three days.

Have never had brain zaps thankfully and I abused the hell out of MDMA... Havent heard of anyone getting it from doing MDMA once, itd take a bit of a dose and repeated dosing atleast to get it first time. Nothing to be really worried about though in your case, you should be fine

Just experienced my first "brain zap" while laying down trying to have a nap... Thought I was drifting off into sleep then all of a sudden like a quick electrical zap feeling in my head - not uncomfortable just aware of it it was a wierd sensation and happens extremely quickly. Could hear it aswell. Relised that it was actually a brain zap a few seconds after. Also sort of blanked out right after it happened for a second.

Ive abstained from MDMA use completely aswell... still suffering slightly from the after effects of slight depression and bits of anxiety but it is fading and is no where near as debilitating as it first was.

You can get "brain zaps" (or a neuron misfiring) even if you have never done ANY drug, so yes it's very possible that if you are already at risk for them that you may get them after one use.

I have never had one though, and I was a rather heavy abuser for quite some time.. most people don't get them I would think.

One time? Meh I doubt it but possibly sure. Depends too if you take anything In the SSRI or NSRI family which is a big big no no

Over many years of using E I have been very fortunate to have brain zaps only two or three times. Each time I had only one to three zaps after an E session, but they made me really feel for people who have to deal with them. They happened while I was falling asleep and would get this feeling like something buzzed my brain and hear/feel this simultaneous sound like PAFF! with a sensation like something struck my forehead but from the inside out. It was so unpleasant that I feared trying to fall asleep in case it would happen again. I can't imagine dealing with this for days or weeks.

I had also been been on sertraline for 5 days but got off it for the best... SSRI's are poison in my opinion if you want no sex drive go ahead! That was 9 weeks ago and could have caused it... read omewhere brain zap after SSRI use can occur upto 8 weeks after.

I think it could be serotonergic neurons misfiring or a rewiring in the brain... but thats just speculating and basing it off nothing, im curious to know what really causes it
