Obscure, unknown drugs that should take the place of current popular drugs

Nah man im sure you need the cyclizine with the Dipapanone for that amazing rush. But I understand why you don't want the cyclizine with it. Maybe vials of Dipap/cycl instead of tabs with the sillicon shit in them.
Palfium has replaced Tramadol
Quaalude have replaced Etizolam
Glutethimide have replaced Lunesta

Uncommon or unusual drugs

Hey all, I didn't know where the best place for this would be, and I'm not sure if there is already a thread on this, as I couldn't find anything here or elsewhere, but I would like to pry into your, and your friend's, experiences to compile a small list of drugs that we, most likely, have not heard about, but that can be used recreationally.

For example, my friend's father stumbled upon pregabalin (Lyrica) and gabapentin (neurontin). After searching and finding MUCH debate over the two substances on the world wide web he decided to give both a go. Although he expressed nothing noteworthy about gabapentin, my friend claims that not only was pregabalin a VERY interesting and unique drug (comparing it to heavy alcohol intoxication with a slight MDMA buzz), but that it also helped him with opiate comedowns.

The same friend's father also claims zolpidem (ambien), if snorted, can produce a benzo-like effect on the user.

I personally had never heard of either drugs being used recreationally until my friend's father told me about it, and it did not fall into my preconceived category of narcotics, that is the pain pills, anxiety, and ADHD medications. I assumed that there are other drugs like this out there, and next time you search through your, your mother's, father's, or friend's medicine drawer I suggest you keep a look out for pregabalin.

So, has anyone stumbled across unusual, or simply not widely known, drugs that one has found suitable for recreational use?
Stay away from the well known substances, such as:
marijuana
cocaine
heroin
oxycodone
hydrocodone
codeine
LSD
ketamine
PCP
mushrooms

Usually if drugs are recreational, the fact becomes known relatively quickly - pregabalin for example has been used recreationally (by myself and people I know) for a good few years, probably a lot longer than that by people who knew of it sooner =D it's all about personal education about the drugs, usually if you do a bit of research on them it's quite easy to discover if they are or not.

This might not be what you mean, but if you are looking for "unusual" drugs then research chemicals might be what you want.

There is a warning in the name though: Research. A lot of RCs are still being researched and their effects and dangers aren't fully documented. If you are still interested in taking some then you should do some searching online for trip reports and any side effects that are seen. The more you know about a drug, the safer your experience should be.

Remember to start off on a low dose and work your way up.

I agree heavily with the warning with regards to research chemicals - you can make a vague estimate as to the dangers of such compounds by researching the risks of related compounds.

However i found that Etizolam was rather enjoyable - i may well be purchasing some more soon off a REPUTABLE vendor (make sure u find the right supplier for these things; that's REALLY important; otherwise it's not worth doing tbh)

I may give MDAI or methylone a try at some point also

Well I don't think that pregabalin is really that rare - it's uncommon in that its not prescribed for much but over here in the UK it's approved for use for general anxiety disorder hence why I've been able to get my hands on it quite easily. It's a pretty smooth and nice drug, especially when combined with opiates as it adds purely to the euphoria and not to the CNS depressant properties of opiates which is beautiful. It also mixes nicely together with benzos - it gives them a slightly more opiate type tingle yet even on its own in high doses it provides a somewhat pleasant and mellow high. Tolerance however is a rapid, pesky and annoying son of a bitch. Builds so quickly you can't enjoy it for more than a week!

Same goes for zolpidem - not really uncommon but hell does it produce weird and annoying effects if you snort it. Horrific hallucinations, and leads you to do some really fucked up stuff you won't remember

As nAON said, once the fact a drug becomes known to the public for its recreational use it spreads like wildfire very quickly in users. Personally the rarest I have stumbled upon (and actually my all time favourite drug) was diconal. Can't compare it to anything else apart from pure bliss and heaven in a tablet form.

This isn't really suitable for BDD, we're a HR forum and we don't do "rummage through your medicine cabinet to get high" type threads (check our guidelines) - but there's a similar thread in Drug Culture so I'm sending it over there :)

BDD > DC

I wish 4-FA would replace all the other bullshit that goes into fake "molly" and e pills.

I would definitely be pleased having Alchohol replaced with GHB.

No doubt! I remember the good ol' days when you could get GBL easy even in the U.S. and mix up your own nice pure GHB. The irony of labelling it the "date rape" drug, when alcohol has always been, and probably always will be, the drug most associated with nearly every date rape! Today I can't throw a rock without hitting a liquor store, but GHB? Prolly never get my hands on that one again :(

Welcome to the Hipster Drug Dimension. The mainstream drugs of choice have been erased from the earth and you have to replace them with an equal or better substitute.

Name a few lesser spoken of/unknown drugs that should take the place of current popular drugs.

Phenmetrazine (Preludin) taking the place of amphetamines.

Methylaminorex taking the place of Methamphetamine

GHB taking the place of Alcohol.

Phenmetrazine would be popular. I heard it when injected it causes an amazing rush and when taken orally it's a very functional stimulant that cause less side effect than amphetamine but less euphoria. I heard it's great for weight loss as well. I wouldn't mind trying it at a weight loss dosage.

Methylaminorex would become the crack cocaine to Methamphetamine users. It lasts longer than Methamphetamine and have much more euphoria. The government put a squash on that drug early on and it's good they did. That stuff had a high addiction potential.

MXE is just like Ketamine and PCP. I could see people in the club and rave scene using it as a replacement for such.

Yeah, but those drugs are vastly inferior to the ones they are replacing :\

See, I don't think so. Well, I haven't had any experience with LSD, so no comment there, but I have experience with both mdma and bk-mdma, and I have to say that I enjoy the bk-mdma better. (shrugs) It's probably just me....

I would love to see the Thiambutenes make a breaktrough on the european maket, heck as long as I am dreaming why not replace APAP as the OTC painkiller of choice.

Dextromoramide , dipipanone or ketobemidone wouldn't be bad either.

^ Makes me wonder if you've had good MDMA haha.. methylone just doesn't touch shit on MDMA's euphoria. Maybe if you're just looking for a light mood lift at a party or something, but when I roll I want to be laid out on the ground petting the concrete and telling this stranger I just met how much their company really means to me..... BK just doesn't do that, and I mean that's kind of what makes it a unique drug, in that it's just a VERY light roll.. but it's sure not what I'm personally looking for :\

Besides, these days methylone has already taken the place of MDMA in "Molly" :\ and it's definitely not something I am happy about.
