Hi,

I finally got a nice glass bong but i'm finding cleaning it to be quite a chore. Especially since it has a percolator chamber in the middle. Ive tried filling the whole thing with rubbing alcohol but there are still bits of resin stuck in places that I can’t get to with a Q-tip.

Any pointers or tutorials?

Mods please close if there is already a thread dedicated to cleaning, didn’t see one though.

Did you try blowing down hard to flush out the percolators with alcohol or did you just fill it up and shake? I think when you really get the alcohol flowing through the entire perc with a lot of force it will flush out more. Try this a few times and just recycle the same alcohol + salt if it isn't too dirty.

I used to have a 2 chamber double 3 tree perc piece a year ago and this would get it pretty much clean along with shaking with salt. Don't worry about it getting stuck in your bong, if you have to you can fill it up all the way and pretty much let it dissolve or it will eventually flush out. That abrasive action really helps though. It doesn't leave any residue, my piece was clear and there was never any color change or noticeable salt left behind. Should get it looking brand new:D

Higher proof alcohol helps, and acetone absolutely destroys resin but sketches me out personally.

The coarser the salt (to a certain extent) helps.

Also you can use rice, but I avoid this in 3+ chamber bongs.

If you want that never had chemical taste in your bong take a long HOT shower and bath. Pretty much boiling but much more romantic ;]

Haven't tried blowing the solution through, will give that a try. I mainly just shook it around like i have done with all my bowls.

Thanks

Salt + isopropanol, as others have suggested.

However I will impart with you my wisdom: The pieces I own and use, do not have percolators. If I'm trying to make vapor smoother, I get my skillet and extracts out, instead of using a percolator with weed smoke.
