How much Zoloft would I take to increase the amount of time I can last during sex?

Pretty self explanatory...I heard you can use Zoloft to last longer in bed and you don't have to take very much.

Zoloft creates a range of sexual side effects including decreased sex drive, ejaculation failure, and impotence. As a one time thing I doubt it would reach a reasonable blood plasma level quickly enough to make much difference.

Taking it on a regular basis is likely to end up causing more unpleasant side effects than desired ones IMO. If you feel this issue is very important to you, perhaps talk with your doctor about the options that are out there, but to my way of thinking, this approach seems a bit extreme.

Also in regards to lasting longer in bed you might be able to get some insight over in Sex Love and Relationships.

Best of luck to you,

Haha!

It's an SSRI mate, and as someone who benefits from it as an antidepressant, I can tell you that when I am on moderate to high doses of Zoloft I have no interest in intimate relations whatsoever. 0. Zilcho. Nothing. In fact, when I am on Zoloft I find that I actually find sexual things quite disgusting. I guess it effects everyone differently, but my doctor said that it's pretty common as a side effect.

Beautiful side effect really. Separating yourself from lust is such a fantastic feeling. Much better feeling than any sexual fulfilment than you will ever be able to imagine or experience.

This^ is mostly true for most users of ssri's even though in low doses they are prescribed for extreme cases of premature ejaculation. As Bronson said, try another route before you down this one, there are OTC creams and gels of all assortments for this purpose and some of them work quite well.

Good luck

i don't think zoloft is the best idea to use for this kind of problem as deadhead stated it takes about a week or two for it to have any effect and then it has a whole host of side effects that go along with it that you really don't want. if you're really after something to make you last a long time in bed and kick in for a short amount of time, tramadol works wonders for that. i've also heard that a short acting SSRI called dapoxetine is now available to be prescribed for treatment of premature ejaculation, but i've never tried it myself, and ive heard no reports about it working or not.

There are many anti-depressants that can work for this purpose, among the most effective ones are: tricyclics (specially clomipramine) and SSRI's in general..However, you should use then on a regular basis, and wait several weeks for them to work...on the other hand...you could use dapoxetine (a short acting SSRI) or tramadol before sex! .....Actually, many drugs can be used to delay ejaculation, like opiates, dxm and others...just pick the one you like

I also dont think Zoloft is the best option, because is a longterm treatment, you would have to deal with several side effects (specially at high doses) and SSRI's have a lot of drug interactions! ..I think is better to use a drug just before sex.

However, if you have sex frequently/everyday it might be right for you

Agreeing with psy123, SSRI's work over time and will not neccessarily allow you to last longer after one use. Also, other side effects that come from SSRIs may be undesirable, and could prevent you from being able to get it up.
Personally, a moderate dose of any opiate works significantly better and will not make you feel as weird as some anti-depressant medications may make you.
If you have no tolerance, a perc 5 or two will let you go for a long time

I was prescribed Zoloft and took it for 4 days at 25mg followed by 2 days at 12.5mg and. 50mg is the minimum recommended dosage.

BUT. Even at my age of 18, after the second day I was not able to orgasm at all and was not able to get hard as easily it absolutely killed my libido I didnt even have an interest in it. It took a full week after the last dose for things to start working again and I still to this day question whether my libido is actually back to 100%, id say 90% some people actually get permament dysfunction after quitting SSRI's.

If you do, start with a super low dose Im talking no more than 12.5mg.
