Your question (and posts) present me with a dichotomy. The only answer I have that works within that and answers your question, is one that just explains that I have different perspectives to you on the points you raised.
Hopefully this answer achieves that and there are no hard feelings.
Why not just move on, as you promised to do several posts ago?
That'd be just fine by me. And everybody else, I think.
It was a rhetorical question, and I even answered it to make sure there was no scope for it to be interpreted as anything but. Said answer being there were no 'edits' as such on that post, save for the ones made in progress.
For those as puzzled as I am as to why we're still on about this, the post in question is #968.

fukin ridiculous . They are sending a swab of the Puss to a lab to see why it won't heal . I would never of thought that a simple operation could cause so much pain & require hours of nhs time .

Marmz i have been getting it dressed 3 times a week by a nurse . Looking after it as best i can , not getting it wet doing all the right things .
I have the Iodine dressing on it you know the ones ? Problem is the bottom left of where the nail has been removed is still infected & it's taken until now for someone to realise this .
Since the 4th of December i have had 2 7 day courses of 4 /500mg fluclox a day .
I am just back from the walk in centre which luckily is 5 mins from my flat . The results of the swab will be back next week . I have appts. on monday & thursday for further dressing changes & hopefully a solution to this .

two TV adverts have blown my mind this week; one is the trippy Butlins advert featuring the floating family and which has Trolololol as the music (seriously funny as despite going Butlins once when I was a kid, my only real memory of the place is at Bloc, when the place was shifting and dissolving much like in the advert, especially in 2008 when Trololol was a viral video and I overdid the liquid acid) THEN the second one is the new Go Compare advert, noticed they had adopted the Skoda tactic of taking the piss out of themselves, but in the latest one they have recruited Stephen Hawking to 'banish' the singing opera twat with a black hole, what the fuck, seriously 8(

If it's infected, walking, even to have the dressing changed, really ain't gonna do it any good. Any pressure on it at all wont be good for it.
But 2 courses of antibiotics should surely be enough even if you have been walking with it a bit? Eh, maybe they'll give you an IV drip if it's still bad by the time the swab gets back?

The Nurse i just saw did seem a bit more on the ball than the others i'm guessing if it was the normal one she wouldn't have even done the swab.
The Bloke at Podiatry is completely incompetent thanks to him i got the pre op infection that was another course of antibiotics making it 3 in all . I forgot to mention that in the first post .

Brimz, put in a formal complaint bout it, i fuckin would
lucky enough never to have had an infected body part, as far as I can remember.. sounds like a bummer, although have had to had wounds splashed with Iodine before, wasn't as stingy as I was expecting
I don't have TV at mine, but my gf's house mates watch it quite a lot, and she has one in her room.. I think occasionally it is OK, I like 'reading' or de-constructing the messages coming out of the screen, but make it a habit and it does start fucking with your head.. Mainly cos it's so repetitive!

Well that is the main reason it's repetitive, the same adverts over and over.. My mate's mum got re-married and had a kid, who is about 7 now, and he still doesn't understand the concept of adverts.. Whenever his show stops for an ad break he gets really stressed out and has a little moan

Yup, infections in key places can be pretty scary not to mention really inconvenient.
When my sis was on dialysis 5 times a week, she had two button hole injection sites in the crook of her arm made, which were the entry points for the needles she used to dialyse with, which basically form the site where she injected into her fistulla (which is a part of an artery and vein which have been joined together to get an huge increase in the speed of the blood flowing through them).
Those sites are really really prone to infection tho, because they had to cope with having needles the width of straws being inserted in opposite directions (about an inch apart), and then the huge pressure of the blood being pumped in and out of the fistula to the machine and back, and all for 3 hours+ and without being able to bend her arm .. it had to stay solidly straight. This was for 5 days a week too.
Jebus, the pain she used to go through when the site got infected, because she still had to insert the needles even tho it was infected because otherwise she couldnt go on the machine at all, and obviously she'd die if she couldn't dialyse. No painkiller either ... just a light injection of lidocaine, but that never works on infected tissue.
Always used to be an insanely worrying and pretty dismal time when she got an infection. Lowest times ever. And depending whether she saw a local doc or one of the specialists (same for nurses) a lot of them didn't really understand the nature of how important it was the infection was eradicated. Nothing worse than having to deal with an inexperienced nurse or doctor in that kind of situation.
And watching someone wriggle around in agony for 4 hours and not be able to do anything about it .. eh .. bad times.
eh, the mental and physical exhaustion in having to deal with the problem itself, often means you don't have the energy to do this kind of thing after. You're just so bloody relieved that it's all over and want to distance yourself from it and grab a more positive headspace
I'd agree with that, think I should have complained for being discharged without so much as a yellow after having a potentially lethal seizure.. Surprise surprise I had another severe one about 2 hours after leaving CDU, pupils fully dilated with a torch in my eye, apparently
a friend's mum who works in the NHS wanted to find out the name of the consultant that wouldn't give me any medication but by that point I was just happy it was over
