Bupe Help. IV suboxone film gone wrong?

I always IV my suboxone, it's nothing new to me. I haven't done any suboxone in maybe 2 weeks(+/-). Tonight I shot less than 1mg. Shortly afterwards I began to feel really hot. I started getting hotter and hotter. My face got really red and hot and I could feel a lot of pressure in my face. My heart started racing. Now I have a headache and I just threw up like 5 times (i hardly ever throw up on suboxone). What the fuck is going on?
 
Even if you use clean equipment, you can still have a "dirty" shot. All sorts of things can cause an immune reaction, even cotton itself, fibers or bacteria getting in the shot, inactives from the film, etc. "Cotton fever" was originally termed that because of bacteria that can be present on cotton (now the term is generally used more loosely to mean any rapid immune reaction from bacteria/fibers/contaminants).

Another possibility, as Captain Heroin said, if you haven't done any Sub in 2 weeks, maybe your tolerance went down and it was too much for you?
 
Doesn't cotton fever last awhile? This only lasted a couple minutes. I feel fine now, pretty high. It just scared the shit out of me. I thought I was going to die lol.

That wouldn't be a "dirty hit" per se, it would be a reaction to the naloxone, which I suppose could happen if you are allergic to it, but that doesn't seem likely if you've injected Suboxone plenty of times before.

Have you used other opioids recently? Buprenorphine can cause precipitated withdrawal in people dependent on opioids if you don't leave enough time between the opioid and the Sub, but your symptoms don't really sound like precipitated withdrawal, precip WD is just like extreme opioid withdrawal symptoms.

Micron filters are the best, you can buy them online or get them from some needle exchanges in certain parts of the world (not sure where you live). Some micron filters are also known as "wheel filters" or "syringe filters". If you can't get them, Sterifilt filters or other similar filters designed for filtering drugs for injection are your next option. Next choice after that would be the kind of cigarette filters used for hand-rolling cigarettes, and next choice would be sterilized cottons from a needle exchange or other harm reduction program. But really you should order some micron filters if you inject drugs regularly, especially if you inject things that are not intended for injection. See: Micron Filtering Mega Thread and FAQ

Just saw your last post now (guess I was typing mine when you posted). Do you mean it literally only lasted 2 minutes? (I don't think you can throw up 5 times in 2 minutes ;))
 
The initial bad feeling lasted maybe 5 mins or so. That whole time I felt rather nauseous. I began puking after 90% of my symptoms were gone. And it was just non-stop puking lol
 
No needle exchanges here. I dont think the US has them :(
And I was always under the impression that cig filters are horrible. Because they contain like fiber glass or something? IDK theres shit in the filters that doesnt belong in your veins
 
There are needle exchanges in the US, maybe you live in one of the few states that doesn't allow them.

There is no fiberglass in cig filters, that's a complete myth. They're made of cellulose (cotton is mostly cellulose).

Dirty shot symptoms can be short-lived, but I can't know what caused the bad reaction you had, it's possible it was the buprenorphine or naloxone itself, sorry I can't be of more help and glad you're feeling better :)

Oh did you get any pain or swelling etc when you injected?
 
I was reading some stuff on that micron filter mega thread. will talc eventually get cleaned out of my lungs or is it permanent? is the damage done by talc permanent?

Well maybe saying "few" was an understatement, but at least 35 states have a legal/official syringe exchange program, 13 out of the remaining allow the purchase of syringes without a prescription at pharmacies, and quite a few of the states that don't have a legal/official needle exchange have private/covert needle exchanges or other harm reduction programs. So that leaves just 2 states where there is both no legal needle exchange and no availability of syringes from pharmacies. Pharmacies most likely don't have filters, so they're not really relevant to this thread, but I was just trying to point out it's wrong to think the US doesn't have needle exchanges :)
 
so how do needle exchanges work? I go there and give them used needles and they give me clean ones? do I need to have a prescription? because without a script, possession is a class D felony here.

You won't need a prescription. You can easily get a prescription for needles FYI.

That is the gist of a needle exchange; you bring in your old ones, and they will give you new ones based on how many old ones you bring in.

As far as I am aware, it is permanent. Your lungs can't get rid of it, it's trapped in there.
