Sometimes i read online of people saying they like the beautiful sun and sky and thats why theyre happy. I believe this is bullsh1t happiness. The most genuine happiness i know of is when swim gets opiate if you take that away from his life he is depressed even if he willingly chose to quit. What other kinds of genuine happinesses do you know of?

(We don't use SWIM on bluelight, it's annoying to read and doesn't protect you from anything).

I don't think any sort of happiness is more legitimate than another. If the sun can make some people feel happy, then good for them. It doesn't work for me personally but I don't think I'm in any position to tell them they're not feeling something.
It's normal for you to feel depressed after quitting opiates. Depression is part of withdrawal and it takes a while to get back on track.
Watching my Led Zeppelin movies makes me genuinely happy. It can be found in small things.

Find happiness in smaller things.
Music? Are you artistic at all? I'm not really artistic at all but even I find happiness in listening to some really good music!!
Friends and family can make you happy.
Pets too. My hamster makes me very happy. If I had a bad day at work, I can spend some time with her and feel better :). I wouldn't recommend going out and getting a dog or a cat or something that requires a lot of responsibility right away but a smaller pet may be something to consider.
Food makes me happy too. Like cooking or baking something delicious - that myself and others really enjoy (and that looks good too). There's something about that feeling that makes me happy too!

The happiness that other people find in anything, big or small, is because they open themselves to that feeling, that experience of simple connection with something outside so that it can touch something inside. It could be a dog or a cat, music, a person, the whole world. You have opened yourself to a pill, to a drug; you allow that substance to make you happy. Someone else tells you to try the things that make them happy but that will not make you happy unless you open yourself to them, too. Food, sex, exercise, a hobby, an art--it can make you happy, it can make you miserable. The thing most people can't admit is that they hold the reins, they hold the keys. It is a choice to be happy. It is a choice how much happiness you are willing to let in. Everything exists as itself outside of our experience of it--whatever it is-- you have to open to what it has to offer.

How is it that opiates are the most geuine happiness you've ever known of, when it's your friend who's done them and not you? :-/ How come nobody reads the Bluelight User Agreement? BLUA TL;DR? Here's a synopsis: You can only post as yourself in the first person.

With that being said...and having an opiate addiction under my belt as well..

I have found true and genuine happiness in moments. I am truly happy when I have the ability to make someone laugh. I feel happiness when I am cuddling my dogs, I feel happy when I make a new friend.

I have less moments of happiness since the time before opiates, but the moments are starting to return more frequent the longer I am clean :).
