Any one out there every exprience psychosis from weed? Or is it just me.. im feeling legit insane atm..thoughts..paranoia...cant eat even tho im the guy who can eat and eat and eat...suspicious of everything...a new girl im seeing atm which is going well is causing me anxiety on top of this because i have never been in a "healthy" relationship and im trying to act right and not scare her off and push her away or be clingy(even though i have been had my share of relationships)... im at work and just losing it big time, and have been for serveral weeks now but its getting worse.... im smoking 3.5 gs a day and tapering down off valium 40 mgs a day (i was on have been on for 2.5 months, its my 3rd benzo w/d exprience).

Aside from stopping or taking a break (which im going to do) Any tips how to get through this and how long it may last. I have felt shitty b4 during breaks but very minorly, it was lack of being able to eat much and insomnia/anxiety for a couple weeks... i feel like im psychotic i can barely hold a convo i look like im about to murder someone ( a co worker said this)

Even 40 mgs at once of valium wont calm me down.,.. wtf?

I need to function or im fucked.

tips? expeirences?

thanks

Edit-btw i know its the weed because even though im messed up regardless... i smoke entirely to much and have been for 11 years. im changing that tho.

Well you're certainly smoking quite a bit, but it's probably mostly the valium taper tbh. What are you tapering from--to at the moment? Perhaps you should try one taper at a time to help better diagnose what you are feeling?

I would very actively pursue exercise and diet. Make sure you are getting a good workout everyday (if possible). The importance of daily intense exercise cannot be overstated. Diet is also extremely important. Just try to eat very healthy for a few weeks and see how you feel.

Besides adjusting diet and adding intense exercise, I would look into taking a good multivitamin and some Lysine. Lysine has helped me tremendously with my anxiety and daily pains.

diet, exercise, and supplements are changes that you must make actively, yet the benefits will be noticed passively. What I mean is that the benefits can come on slowly and manifest themselves at unexpected times. They are unlike a pill or a bowl where you feel instant change. Anyway, don't give up on it!

Also, it may help to look into medication, yoga, & breathing techniques.

Make sure your getting all your essential Vitamins you get a Blood Test by the Dr. Recently?

right now im dropping from 40 mgs to 35 mgs per day in 2-3 doses depeding on how im feeling atm. I dont smoke cigs (i quit a year ago after 10 years use). I excersie 4 times a week. I do a split type weight lifting regiment (chest/tris, back/bis, etc).

I am trying to eat better and recently have beeen doing better with that but even tho im not fat all ( and look in shape even though im not) i ate like shit for most of my life and still do half the time.

I take a multi vitamin and vitamin D everyday...and i will look into Lysine thanks

yeah im no stranger to benzo tapering/cold turkey... it feels simular to when i stopped cold turkey after 2 years on clonazepam 4-6mgs a day...i felt like i was dying but didnt seize luckly.

So i guess my options are to quit, ride it out and check out that Lysine.

Thanks guys,
Chris

40 mgs is alot? i read that 5 -40 mgs per day is the max dose daily..my doc told me so to. so im not even taking recreational doses. Im done with those days.. i would take 15 mgs lorazepam at once. i DONT even feel 40 mgs.

well that suggests to me then you have a very high tolerance of valium and i would suggest leveling out levels, i think beyond 20mg in a day is a lot really.

Even 5mg a day would be noticeable after a while. (but you say you have taken other benzos)

I dunno if that was me though id make my prime goal to come away from benzos slowly, until you would feel a 20mg dose say.

Yeah I agree, I'm sure the weed dependence isn't helping your sleeping or eating patterns but I'm willing to bet almost all of your symptoms are related to your valium taper.

valerian root extract is a very good benzo alternative doctors have been prescribing it for years for those that have to take benzos such as xanax and valium for an extended period of time where addiction could set in

this is probably due more to the benzos, or the interaction of benzos + weed... or the fact that you smoke an eighth a day... it takes me at least 5 days typically more like 1-1.5 weeks to get through an eighth even if i smoke several times a day every day...

i say this because i have a friend who takes quite a bit of xanax daily and has a pretty high tolerance. he says if he drops the dose even a little he starts to get paranoid/panicky, and if it gets bad he can have severe panic attacks, etc. (no this isnt me this is actually a friend i have. ive only ever tried benzos once, and i dont remember much of it due to a hefty amount of vodka. i did feel extremely flat and sort of zombie-like the next day. this was with .5mg lorazepam and 2mg diazepam)

I went though a similar phase a while back.

The best thing to do now is decrease your consumption of weed by a lot. It's a bitch being back in the mundane-ness of soberness, but you'll get through it.

I went cold turkey from 1-2 g/day (about 3-4 sessions) and the first week was horrible. Couldn't eat properly, couldn't keep focus, had a sense of "fuck life its so fucking boring" but it all goes away. Your brain is too used to the psychedelic manner of thinking that weed brings on you, and you're stuck in a shitty thought loop of sorts. If you can meditate, you may be able to resolve it without quitting.

Twice I've had a somewhat similar experience to you. I still haven't really figured out what caused it as I'm positive it wasn't laced because everyone else was fine, but these two times I had taken an over the counter pain medicine shortly before smoking (because I'd had a headache). Main difference is I started throwing up a lot during my 'bad trips'. Btw I was a moderate smoker at the time.

From what I've learned trying to figure these terrifying experiences out, this just happens sometimes. Maybe if you had an empty stomach or were slightly dehydrated? I guess if things are a little off the body reacts strangely. Taking over the counter pain meds in my case- also one time my ex took just half a Vicodin before smoking and freaked out, ended up driving to the hospital lol. So could be little things triggering it.

Next my head start telling me I was dead, and that my eternal punishment was going to be living through this.

I had almost the exact feeling, I imagined I was in some sort of limbo and I could be tortured by my mind for eternity. I even thought if I had means to kill myself in that moment I certainly would do so.. although I'm not at all a suicidal person. JUST from weed &ibuprofen! So scarey.

Stay away from Garlic. Also other neurotoxins. They make you feel this way. Check your diet on what you're eating.

I have had the same exact symptoms. Make sure it's not laced (Probably not because while you're crazy everyone else is normal), Flushed properly and grown right.

Also some strains have different effects on different people bro. I learned this.

Check your strain and seriously stay away from garlic.

When I went on my t break for sinus infection I ate a lot of garlic and got fucked. Seriously was out of it in the hosp. EEG would of shown that I had encephalopathy.

Had nothing to do with weed.

Stop smoking weed.

Seriously.

Paranoia is horrible and you admit yourself it's getting worse. Just stop smoking. At least until you finish the taper.

and that bad feeling you got from garlic during an infection is called a herxheimer or detox reaction. You are killing whatever is infecting you and when the little bugs die they release toxic shit into your bloodstream before your liver can deal with it. Activated charcoal, bentonite clay, vitamin c, triphala all help with this.
