Does anyone have any idea why some drugs stay in one country (USA) and don't make it over to the UK. I am sure some people in the UK use methamphetamine but I have never heard of known any, and I am from an area that is riddled with PROPER heroin and crack addicts. The kind that have limbs amputated from getting gangrene and stuff, so surely if it was over here, they would have it.

Same with PCP/Angel Dust. I have only ever seen that on American TV shows and films. I have never known anyone in the UK to have claimed to have used PCP. Why is this? And what are they like? I can imagine methamphetamine is just extra strong speed, but Hollywood and CNN tells me that PCP makes people think they are chicken and want to cook their new born children in microwaves... Surely there must be some GOOD sides to it. What drug could it be most likened to??

Are there any drugs you have heard of, but not in your country? I know in Thailand there is Yabba, but I think that might be just another name for Meth.

I know people in the UK who are surrounded by meth heads.
Maybe it comes down to who you know with the goods.

Yabba is a term for meth.
Yabba is Methamphetamine and Caffeine in pill form which is smoked.

PCP absolutely reeks of markers, stinking up everywhere it goes. It would be near impossible to smuggle that anywhere, as far as "typical" smuggle methods go.

I live in serbia, and there's alot of stuff here. Except for methamphetamine I guess, and some RCs.

Even though PCP might make you do some silly stuff, you should realize that the media often exaggerates when describing the unwanted effects of drugs. I think I once saw a commercial where a teenager once steals his parents money and stuff to buy MDMA, looking like a big-time addict from a bad movie.

And I don't think PCP is comparable to some other widely known drug. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Oh of course. I know that. I was just being a bit facetious in trying to find out what the good effects are. It is strange though how a drug can be isolated in just one place.

I wish my country had a drug all of its own.

REALLY??? That is mad. I have not heard of a single person taking it in the UK ever. I know loads of people who are speed heads and inject normal speed but I have never known anyone take Meth. I don't often bother with hard drugs any more but I think if I got the chance to try meth just once I probably would. Knowing how hard it would be for me to get it again I couldn't get addicted so I reckon I would try it. I'd make sure I had a HEAP of sleepers and downers though. Apparently it can keep you up for 3 days or more.

Normal speed is bad enough but I always make sure I have valium knocking around on the rare occasion I take that.

Its a step up from a K-hole on the dissociative totem pole. Its the only comparison that I can think of. High dose MXE (or smaller repeated doses) of over 200mg gives a little glimpse into what PCP can be like, but not a full view just a small aspect of it.

I think meth heads are very rare in the UK..... Its nowhere near anything like in the USA, there is meth in the UK and some people do indulge (gay community plays a big part) but it is nowhere on the scale as america. Like I dont know a single person who has taken meth, or where to get it, but lots of speed everywhere, mostly from eastern Europeans.

I surpose different countries have different cultures, Ket is huge in the UK I imagine so much bigger than in the USA. I cant think of any other ones off the top of my head, but generally USA is a bit behind in the RC culture. We had the mephedrone and methylone boom looong before it got started in the US, but I think they are catching on.

Never heard of PCP in Aus, Meth is the Number 1 drug here though.

It's almost more acceptable to rip out a meth pipe over here than it is to pull out a 10 pack of pills.

I've never seen meth either, and I'm in the US. It really depends on what state you live in, but there are a number of states where meth is extremely rare, and is only really used in the gay community. So certain drugs can vary by state just as much as they do by the country.

Meth is rare in Europe, but certainly not unheard of. I've had some a few times. PCP on the other hand I've never heard about being sold in Europe. Ketamine is most certainly much harder to get here than in the US too.

One that bugs me a lot is the absence of hydrocodone from drug prescribing formularies almost everywhere (I think Luxembourg or some other country might be the only one in Europe, for example, that has it). As a result, there's a HUGE gap in analgesic potency, the niche which hydrocodone fills in the United States - a moderately strong opioid analgesic.

In most other countries, the analgesic scale goes NSAID -> Codeine/Tramadol -> Morphine/Oxycodone/etc.

I myself have often been in a situation where tramadol simply does not cut it but there's approximately zero chance of getting prescribed morphine or oxycodone by most doctors. Last time I had an accident (last week) I was very lucky to get prescribed a minimal amount of morphine after being released from the ER.

EDIT: Cyanoide: Ketamine is fairly rare in Northern Europe in my experience, but that area has a fairly... bare and unique drug market anyway, in terms of supply. In Finland the IV opioid of choice is buprenorphine, as other strong opioids are very rare and expensive. In central Europe ketamine is fairly easy to come by.

^^Never had the chance to try it. I had psychedelics though so I don't think I would like it? More of a body high or hallucinating??
