Prevent floored effect/more energy for dancing?

Hey guys, long time lurker and a big fan of this forum (you guys have been extremely helpful), but I finally decided to create an account to make this post because I'm really curious/struggling with this issue.

I started rolling back in March (my first time was for Ultra), and on the last day of the festival I took a cap that of friend of mine had left over, which she bought from another dealer. The roll I had from that cap was extremely different from the first two days and any roll I've had since. Not only did I feel more friendly and open (everything I saw amazed me and I had no problems telling anyone about it), lights were incredible to watch, my body felt hyper sensitive in the best way, but I also felt extremely energized. I peaked during Bassnectar and I couldn't stop dancing to save my life.

Since then each roll is bit random. Often I feel the love/openness/euphoria, most of the time I get the body sensation and the lights, but I've also usually been getting really floored (especially when I got really really pure MDMA). My legs turn to jelly, I don't want to move, I just sway with the music. Which is, you know, great because I'm still rolling face lol. But I really want to roll again like I did that last day.

Any ideas? Was there something else in the cap other than just MDMA (Meth, MDA)? Can I take something else with my MDMA to give myself more energy? Should I switch to beans? Honestly, anything you guys could tell me would be helpful if it leads to a more dancy/energized and euphoric roll. Thanks guys.

I feel you man - my rolls as of late have been more flooring regardless of dose. Often I find its a smooth comeup - mellow, floored peak - then a more energetic, social feeling which is more enjoyable - then a gradual comedown.

I think the best way, providing you have pure MDMA, is to just reduce how much you take initially. Alternatively, try a long, long break - my most euphoric, loving, energetic rolls have been the ones with the longest moderation - typically 3 months. Once I did it a few times monthly I noticed the peaks being more mellow and flooring regardless of dose.

Although i've never tried, some people suggest caffeine helps you to feel more energetic but make sure you dose low as they're both stims and will potentiate each other's negative side-effects e.g. anxiety, shakes, heart palps etc. This could ruin your roll so play it safe.

Some good advice from JWills there. My two cents:

First it sounds like you're not testing your product. Get a test kit. Dancesafe and eztest are good sources. It's very probable that the reason you're rolling inconsistently is because some of the drugs you're taking are NOT MDMA. Testing is the only way to know for sure, and anyway you shouldn't be putting any unknown white powders in your body. Some of them can kill you.

Second, it sounds like you've tried to roll three times in three days. This is not healthy and taking real MDMA so frequently can cause brain damage. For safety's sake, take a break of AT LEAST one month between rolls, preferably two or three.

Last, the part you want to hear: My very first roll was on a pill that showed up on Ecstasydata.org as cointaining two parts MDMA to one part caffeine, so about 100 mg of MDMA and 50 mg of caffeine. It was a great time, plenty of energy and euphoria. I'd recommend it, but remember to be careful and dose low when mixing stimulants.
 
@JWills: Thanks for the advice. I definitely think that starting with smaller dosages will help. The first time I took real MDxx (tested really, really dark blue with my friend's kit), I capped with a .2 at the comeup was so intense that I threw up. Smaller is definitely better. And I'm dedicating myself to a good, long break. The last time I rolled was Nov.9 for EDC Orlando, and I'm making myself wait until Ultra Fest (Mar.15) before rolling again.

@Clocktower: I have a reagent kit from Dancesafe now, as does another one of my friends. Most of what we get here has some MDxx, although once we have gotten 2C-I, which regrettably we decided to take (slept for sixteen hours after the comedown, horrible, horrible drug compared to MDMA/MDA). The problem though is that I didn't have it to test that cap at Ultra, so idk what the hell was in it that made the roll so good. Any ideas? Also, thank you for the safety tips, they're really appreciated. When it comes to big music festivals (3-dayers) I usually roll and a reduced dosage (.1-.125) the first day, take nothing the second, and then roll at my normal dosage (.175) for the last day. Then I wait a good three months before rolling again (this is what I did for Counterpoint). I realize it's still a bit extreme, but I given the infrequency of big music festivals (one or two a year, three at the most) and how much I pre/post load with antioxidants, I think I should be relatively okay. Still, your concern is appreciated :)

I've been thinking about trying it out with a low dosage off caffeine, and that combo sounds perfect for a first trial run. Thanks guys! I'll let you know how it goes come March.

You sound like your on the right track to harm reduction, that's good. To answer your main question I've heard of and seen people drinking 5 hour energy drinks during their come up, it has something to do with the b-vitamins and caffeine in it. Folley seems to know a good chunk of info on it if he ever passes through here maybe he can shed a bit more light on how it fully works. :)

On a side note how did you enjoy Counterpoint? I flew down from Vancouver for it an boy was it worth it! My favourite sets for sure were Feed Me, Porter Robinson, Pretty Lights (was still rolling decently hard for their performance), Skrillex (I didn't really like him before counterpoint, his performance really got me into him), the few minutes I saw of Zedd were sick, Zeds Dead (actually seeing him again this week!) and a few others that I don't have time to mention. Definitely going back next year! What were your favourites, going back next year? :)
 
5-hour energy seems like it'd essentially do the same job as a caffeine tablet (crush 50mg and add it to the cap), but something about it seems a bit more extreme in my mind. Still, maybe I'll try with half a bottle and see how it works/how I feel. The B-12 seems like it'd help a lot though actually, a good combo with the caffeine.

Counterpoint was one of the best weekends of my life actually. I went up there essentially by myself as all my friends couldn't make it (school, work, etc), and on the second day I was adopted by my current rave family, some of the nicest humans beings I've ever met in my life. I loved it, hands down one of the greatest fests I've been to. Just wish there were less ants, lol. For me the best sets of the weekend were Feed Me, Adventure Club, Bassnectar(I peaked just as his set began AND as I found my rave family in the croud, mind blowing), Zeds Dead, PL, and sort of Skrillex(took acid for the first time that day, and my trip went a bit south during his set). I'll absolutely go again next year! For 2013 I wanna do Ultra, EDC Vegas, and Counterpoint. Those are my big three that I'm saving for.
 
@adam west: That's actually something I gotta work on, so thanks for pointing it out. Still, the big meal thing also makes the rolls vary. When I took the really pure MDxx that I mentioned before, it was for my birthday. My rave family had a big party at one of their houses and before we rolled we had a really big meal, still felt floored and I actually threw up (although I also attribute that to take a .2 of really pure shit all at once).
 
I had much the same experience to theravemoses last time I rolled. Had a big meal before leaving because my previous roll was stopped in its tracks when I completely ran out of energy after a few hours dancing. Was slower coming up and didn!t feel like I was peaking so impetuously keyed the 0.2g I had left and almost immediately threw up! My roll did hit harder but still got the sudden lack of energy which hit me out of nowhere after a couple of hours.
Might try the caffeine suggestion next time, and possibly some form of energy gel/glucose supplement. I never feel like my roll is over, still have euphoria and visuals, just a complete lack of energy

5 hour energy is certainly better than caffeine by itself. There are extra nutrients and vitamins that give your body the fuel it needs to make that energy naturally... the caffeine in it is just an added boost.

I recommend half a bottle if you plan on it. From my experience it's much better than caffeine, and a LOT safer than amphetamine which just gives you a shitty roll anyways. I'd give it a shot.

Glad you enjoyed it as much as myself! I missed bassnectar sadly, got a little too drunk and ended up going back to the tent. :(

I went with a friend from high school who goes to Belmont University in Nashville, I ended up flying to Nashville from Seattle (cheaper to fly outta Seattle than from Vancouver, saved about $350!) then took a greyhound from Nashville to Atlanta and took a cab to the venue. Even had to hitchhike from the West to the East camping entrance because we arrived when the East camping generator died. Luckily for us there were 3 kind soldiers willing to give us a ride, favorite quote from that car ride, "Duuuude! You spilled my beads! Gahhh turn off my orbit!"

As I said I never really used to be a big fan of Skrillex but I took some MDMA (tested with marquis) during his first song and came up over the course of his set, really made me appreciate his music more haha. Then of course straight to Porter Robinson after that during the peak! :D

second this advice, the b vitamins are almost more important than the caffeine. no more than half a bottle, too much caffeine takes away from the roll
 
Thanks for the advice you guys! I'm debating whether I want to experiment with this in January so that I can see how the 5-hr affects the roll, that way my first time playing around with it isn't for Ultra. Good idea, or should I just wait the five months and give my body a really good amount of time to recover from the last few months (I rolled a bit more than I should have in October/November).
 
I totally relate to what TheRaveMoses has experienced. I usually take 160mg (cause of tolerance, I really did roll to much last 2 months), and I get floory for an hour, then I just get dancy but near the end I just get a sudden lack of energy, it's kinda a roll killer, it feels very mellow maybe it's because I've reach the comedown phase but still want to dance lol.

I'm taking a good month and half of break, until NYE.

you could be taking any number of things. i've heard stories of people having different reactions to the same pills on the same night too.
