From what's been reported, the charges against DLT have nothing to do with Savile or paedophilia and relate to allegations he jiggled a female announcer's titties forty years ago. Never liked him much but hardly seems worthy of a dawn swoop and the attendant blanket publicity. Easier to focus on a has been celeb than mess with anything untoward down the corridors of power, possibly..
 
DLT's arrest relates to TWO individuals by his own (honest) admission Charlie. So maybe a bit more than a jiggle of a breast. Coz that would be alright obviously.
 
No, groping is not to be encouraged. But, like Travis said, a secretary of that period would not expect to get through a week in the office without at least a patted butt. Male corporation man of that era was a pig, there was no legislation and it was only in artistic society the girl would have had the hutzpah or the support to whack the offender's face. Remember the women who demonstrated against the Miss World contest were considered wide eyed revolutionaries at the time. And, whatever way you look at it, allegations that men in positions of power took part in the organised abuse of children under state care are far more serious; let's hope the police are diligently and thoroughly ivestigating them.

I read today that they had to pull an episode of TOTP2 the other day as it featured DLT.
I hope this doesn't mean we no longer get to watch old episodes of TOTP as I do enjoy seeing the bands from when I was a kid. But if this BBC scandal gets any bigger then I guess they probably won't show it anymore.
Less repeats shown though.
 
I never quite understood that - even before Saville when they showed old TOTP they didn't have the presenter guy on did they? I thought they had a voiceover guy like Steve Wright introducing the bands instead.

Nice line by the author of a book about Jimmy Saville - says he wrote the real story years ago but no-one wanted to publish it. Says he was going to call it "Apocalypse Now Then".
