Local characters / weirdos

me and spade think of each other at the same time (simultaneously)

incidently there are a high proportion of strange people living in birmingham...there was one used to busk with a cardboard guitar outside the jobcentre/pub/mcdonalds/casino shop block... he had a ghetto blaster playing music, would hold his cardboard guitar and shout at people.....

me and spade think of each other at the same time (simultaneously) - Must be love

I laughed so much at "Mr guitar" what stuff would he shout at people?.....

We have a guy round our town that I remember as a kid and he's still going. Everyone calls him Twiggy as he roams his local area picking up twigs ans stuff off the road. He clearly has both learning difficulties as well as some physical challanges, but he must be tough as old boots as he roams around, now with a frame for hours ...doing his thing.

I few of the local shop keepers and at least one pub see him OK with refreshments etc, he is well loved and the town would not be the same with out him.

In one of the towns near to me there's a huge local rasta character. He looks like the hardest bastard you've ever seen, apparently he used to be a boxer, but he kind of 'went off the rails a bit'. He doesn't walk on the pavement, he likes to walk right up the middle of the road. Suffice it to say, no one beeps their car horns angrily at him, or yells "Get off the fuckin road, you dick !"

Oh and there's me. Im not calling myself a character, but have no doubt many people think I'm weird. Ive accepted myself for that, some of the people i meet also do so, some don't. Sod them. Had enough of hiding who i am.

""I had the bun on my head, and then a girl came running round and knocked me over, and the next thing I know it's on his head," he explained." haha brilliant

This is such a good thread lol.

Round my area theres a guy called 'mad john', who is the nicest guy. but he shouts wierd sayings at anyone and everyone:

Also dunno if anyone knows about the wizard guy in sutton. the guy is a nutter. thinks he is a genuine wizard. sometimes has a cat on his shoulder, and walks with some mad wizard cane.

Omg, WIZARD MAN! <3 and Jesus man (R.I.P), and penny lady. Good old Slutton. I miss it.

Did you see the picture of wizard man protecting town during the riots last summer? Hah

I used to live on the same block as wizard man. He used to roll around this fucking tough as hell estate all geared up with his purple (obviously) gown, hat, staff and all the crucial wizardy bling, and crucial cat (a familiar I believe it is referred to).
Initially he got load of stick but he is proper part of the furniture now. A true Sutton hero! And predates Harry Potter by some margin!

However the fucking CUNTS up top have completely demolished most of that land now. Some families had been there for generations. Disgusting. The comp they got offered was of course derisory.

@ Kace did you used to live round those parts? I have spent a lot of time in the Morden, Sutton, etc

Currently we have two fairly elderly Jamaican ladies who love to wear red lipstick ALL over their faces, it looks proper daft on dark skin im telling ya. Walking up and down the high street chatting gibberish. Some people take the piss, some get scared, some just turn the other way, but you can tell that these cunts people ain't from Camden because all us locals respect the two old dears. God only knows what terrible life they have had to end up "redding up" and sitting at bus stops all day :( Funny thing is though they are never together! But those reds all look the same so...

And anyway its not as is if Kentish Town needed anymore freaks! Still heart it though NW5<3

Ah yes, I lived in Wallington for years. Spent a lot of my teenage years in Sutton up near bandstand and the park opposite the gaffers haha. That's crazy you lived in the same block as Wizard man backroll! I'm glad now so many locals now accept him. I remember when I was younger kids did used to be mean, but by the time I'd left school, he was known as a legend. Kids even painted him in art class lol. I hope his dog Gandalf is okay, I heard one of his animals died in a fire :(. Also that is horrible they got rid of the housing. I hope they at least hoped house the occupants.
