The eccentric software entrepreneur is on the run, a 'person of interest' in the murder of a neighbour in Belize. But who is the man behind the headlines? He gets in touch with the Guardian to protest his innocence.

Since then, McAfee has attracted saturation media coverage. Is he "bonkers" as the Belize prime minister said? Or is he oppressed? Or has the former addict returned to drugs? In 2010, McAfee posted about MDPV, a psychoactive stimulant found in bath salts, on a drugs message-board. He found it "the finest drug ever conceived, not just for the indescribable hypersexuality but also for the smooth euphoria and mild comedown". More recently, MDPV has gained the alarmist soubriquet "the zombie drug" after a user chewed the face of another man in Florida. McAfee posted about how he was producing MDPV but then told Davis this was all an elaborate prank to try to generate 1,000 posts on the web forum. "My life is fucked up enough without drugs, and always has been," McAfee told Wired magazine. Most recently, McAfee blogged: "I have repeatedly stated I do not do drugs and am seriously opposed to drugs."

Unbelievable they still drop references to that Miami face eater any time MDPV or generic RC "bath salts" get mentioned. Not ten bloody minutes ago there was an ad on tv about some segment on "bath salts that literally turn you into a zombie," seems it doesn't matter how many months after something is disproven if it makes their story sound better they will throw it in. :\

Is he "bonkers" as the Belize prime minister said? Or is he oppressed? Or has the former addict returned to drugs?

Do we have to choose a, b, or c? Are they even roughly comparable choices?
Is having "returned to drugs" (an interesting metaphor where drugs are a location) the explanation for being called bonkers by a prime minister of a country?

I am glad I've never reached his level of permanent crazy via drug use.

Never or haven't? ;) Dude is 67. I'd say for that age with that kind of appetite for MDPV (or MDPV "tan" yada yada) he is doing pretty well! Has a sense of humor at least. And certainly an inflated sense of self importance!

To BlueHues - read his thread. That's his whole gig.

hahaha i love that quote, straight from BL too i think.

he's probably nuts, who cares, funny as hell though.

He was crazy and his brain was fried even before MDPV/bath salts, and his anti-virus software sucked. No I don't care if he reads what I wrote since it's true, and he's probably lurking here on bluelight but just not logged in as Stuffmonger or he could be under another name.
