Congrats on the job Baddy!

I hate to say it but I went to see the final 2nd part of Twilight's Breaking Dawn, and it was awesome. It was the first movie I've gone to at a theatre in probably 3 years. Yes we spent $20 on very mediocre popcorn and soda--it was deliciously satisfying. I'm also pretty satisfied with the "ending" to the teen romantic drama.

Oh stardust, if only you had saved your money to go see Skyfall you would have been so much more pleased ;)

Thanks all by the way :) i only work 4 hours today but i work 8 tomorrow, but its all well worth the money.

Oh no way I don't think anything could have topped Twilights ending!!!

I'm off today and tomorrow and then I work everyday for the next week :|.

Please, please please tell me Bella was torn to pieces very, very slowly by the Vulturi cos they'd finally had enough of her self-obsessed, whiny, juvenile angst and Kristen Stewart's appalling acting and so Edward made a massive funeral pyre for her and threw himself on it in despair screaming 'BelllllaaaAAAAaaarggghhh' cos who else would have the poor sap now Bella was gone, and then the Vulturi and the werewolves all joined hands in a circle and danced round the bonfire singing about how happy they were this interminable saga was finally over, threatening to hunt to the ends of the earth anyone determined to carry the thing on still further with this whole Kristen / Robert will they / won't they crap that passes for news in some papers, and the whole world breathed a huge sigh of relief and started looking forward to the second installment of The Hunger Games instead . . . .

That what happened Stardust? =D It was bad enough forcing myself to read the bloody books in the first place ( just for pop culture reasons, being down with the kids and all, you know!? :sus: ) but stringing them out over five films has tried my patience a little too far! ;)

8o Sepher, I've never seen this side of you before! Reaction invoke a Twilight does? I'm really happy Twilight is over and imma let myself finish praising the last movie but StarWars was the best saga of all time.

They all died. D:

I think I must be having one of those days Star. On another forum I'm on someone said that Star Wars episodes 1-3 were way better than 4-6 saying, and I quote 'the originals are rubbish'. 8o I pretty much threatened him with the Spanish Inquisition and a burning as a heretic! Seems to be a bonfire theme developing? :\

Tacky, we are as one on the Twilight issue then. Very good. I didn't mind Harry potter, except for the first part of the last film, which was basically a camping documentary. Some of it may have been filmed in Yorkshire at Malham Cove I mentioned in the TDS photo thread but still, that doesn't excuse things. ;)

^ i was able to read all the Harry Potter books... not because I liked them but because a big part of me wanted to see what happened next...
As for Twilight somehow I suffered through the first book but it was soooo boring then i started the second book and it was .... wait for it..... really really boring
and i couldn't even sit through the whole first twilight movie
ok i get it unrequited love can suck blah blah blah

Yeah, dull and leaden stuff IMO. How Stephanie Meyer managed to fill so very many pages with so very little is beyond me. Was she paid by the word or summink? Least J. K. Rowling can develop a plot and flesh out characters till they become real enough to actually care about but Twilight's characters and the situations they found themselves us were just completely banal. Bella being sexually frustrated for whole chapters at a time does not make for interesting reading. I'm like FFS girl, go and have a bleedin' wank will you, get it out your system for a bit! Cheer up love, being ripped apart by vampires before you get the chance of a shag might never happen. Sadly. Pfffft! ;)

I am glad to hear that Twilight has come to an end. I read the books only so I would have a basis for my rant of why I hate Twilight. You just can't argue without knowledge.

I agree that the original Star Wars are epic and I'm sad to hear that there is a Episode VII in the works. Damn You Disney!

Time to post my unpopular opinion which I've been hiding from all my fellow lit students (though I'm sure they all secretly feel the same seeing as it's 90% female): I loved the Twilight saga! The books mind you, hated the movies. I really think the books shouldn't be criticized as much, seriously. They're not particularly well-written or anything but they really are enjoyable and just fun to read. =D
Unpopular opinion n°2: I hated Star Wars... :(

^hey, I'm defending you on the twilight front, don't boo me! :P
I do like seeing young Ewan Mcgregor in the star wars though. He's gorgeous <3

eh Star Wars just makes me feel ambivalent
if we are on the topic of series...
Lord of the Rings would have been a lot a lot better if the ending of the last film didn't last 2 goddamn hours
I do like the Underworld Trilogy and Pirates of the Caribbean
Captain Jack Sparrow... Please come take me away

Episodes 7-9 planned if you can believe this shit, and without Lucas on board I believe? 8o There've been alleged scripts kicking about for episodes 7-9 since forever, skim read something purporting to be that very thing years ago but really, three more episodes? Too much now, leave it, let the old girl keep some of her dignity. Some things should be really left alone. Whether they stand up as well these days or not ( and I think they do! ) Star Wars to Return Of The Jedi are jewels of their time. Not just nostalgia. Who's gonna say that about episodes 1-3 in 30 years time? Noone, that's who. I suspect the same will be true of episode 7 and on. :(

Ah, now, LOTR I can watch and watch and watch. Same as I can read the book hundred times ( and probably have done! ). Can't wait for The Hobbit though was stunned when it looked like Peter Jackson wouldn't be involved for a while. Think he did an immense job with LOTR. If anyone remembers the animated film made in the very late 70s I think it was they'll understand my trepidation about them being filmed in the first place wondering how he'd pull it off, but fair play to him they stand as an excellent series of films in their own right I think. Not just for LOTR fans. The Hobbit should be out soon I think shouldn't it? Ooooh, just checked, it's 13th December in the UK. Excellent! =D

I loved the Underworld and Pirates series. Pirates moreso because they are based on a popular game series that I grew up with (although it's never been publicly admitted the links are far to obvious) and Johnny Depp is amazing at what he does.

Lucas is being retained in an 'advisory' role.

As for anything Disney gets its hands on retaining dignity:

Hey guys hope all is well here in TDS.
I have been partying in the desert for 7 days in North Qld, Australia, in celebration of the recent solar eclipse which we were blessed with on Weds morning.
It was the most amazing & beautiful thing I will ever lay my eyes on.
I have some photos to share but they will never do the real experience any sort of justice.
Today we head to the Daintree Rainforest for another 7 days.
It is the most lush rainforest in Australia and probably most of the world.
I will get some photos for you guys. I am bound to run in to many animals, including more crocodiles!!
Take care all <3
