Yep its friday!!!

I have to be in the right mood Dan like most music i suppose . Your right about his voice though . Did you see that U GoD album I posted ? N you PT your a Wu Tang fan .
It really is one of the best i've heard in years .

ok cheers you amazing peoples gonna give them a listen. i fooking love piano stuff

you like Edan dont you brimz? do you like Edan PTCH? do you like Aseop rock? i aint too sure on this aesop guy

Aesop Rock - Daylight
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dd_W_x3nclY

i love the way that starts, the beat and everything, but cant decide if his voice gets on my tits or not. do like the chorus a lot on that

This is the one as far as Aesop goes. Aesop Rock & Murs - Happy Pills

I get what you mean by his voice though, can be a bit annoying at times.

If you like that American indie hip hop stuff then get into more Murs (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYUG4Dump-A). His albums with 9th Wonder on the beats are brilliant. One's called 3:16, can't remember the other one & there was a new one released just the other week.

jesus fuck that Jean Grae - Keep Livin tune is a right belter indeed. instantly fallen inlove with this. right uplifter of a tune. tunes like that are why i love hiphop

%) Fucking cracker of a tune. I listen to that all the time. Probably at least once a week.

I've not got that album. I'll get on it. I was always more Ghostface & Raekwon when it came to Wu solo stuff rather than U-God & Cappadonna. I don't think I've got any U-God solo stuff actually.

Aye man, you've put some Foreign Exchange stuff up before.

Nicolay (the producer) is the shit. As is Phonte (the rapper), who isn't on your link as it's the instrumental.

This is where you can follow the trail backwards & get into other good stuff. What you do is go "Who are Foreign Exchange?" then you go "I wonder what else Phonte has done?" which puts you on to Little Brother (rappers Phonte & Big Pooh with producer 9th Wonder - who I mentioned earlier when talking about Murs). 9th Wonder would then lead you on to Murs, Jean Grae etc.

9th was the cunt that got a beat on Jay-Z's Black Album that he'd made on Fruity Loops %). Threats.

Do you know the script with Foreign Exchange? Phonte & Nicolay had never actually met each other when they recorded that first album. Nicolay is from Denmark or Sweden or somewhere like that. They did the full album by internet.

That's what you got to do follow the timeline like what you did to find Little Brother .

If you check Duckdown Records n Mc Buckshot you will find some of the very best Hip Hop just by joining the dots as such .

That's not how I found Little Brother (it was probably the other way around, I probably got into Foreign Exchange through Little Brother. 9th Wonder put me on to so many good rappers, because I loved his beats when I first heard them years ago & chased down other tracks he'd produced. It was cool to hear an "underground" producer you'd been into for a while getting on something as big as The Black Album) but aye that's what you do. Research folk you like & it'll turn you on to a lot of other stuff that you'd never have heard of otherwise.

This works particularly well for underground stuff. There's no point checking out Def Jam's new big name & seeing what other new big names Def Jam have signed, but with the more underground stuff it can put you on to some absolute gems.

Hip hop wouldn't be hip hop without old Def Jam.

It's not just Def Jam that's fucking up though. 99% of mainstream hip hop is sell out shite. It's sad, but that's what sells. The good stuff is still there, it just doesn't make money the way Rick Ross does, na mean? I blame the fans.

I'm just glad there's still lots of shit hot rappers doing it for the love & not for the money. Cunts actually knocking back major label deals & struggling selling stuff by themselves so they don't have to jump on a Swizz Beatz track to keep the label happy lol.

Label samplers from indie labels are a great way to find new things you'd never have bumped into otherwise. There are some gems on Stone's Throw, eg Peanut Butter Wolf's Jukebox 45s and Chrome Children comps, eg No $ No Toke by Jaylib.

Got two job interviews this weekend. One at HMV, one at Vue cinema. Hoping I get the HMV one more, definitely...either way...Gonna be earning cash money this christmas hopefully!

this is amazing, serious talent, why is Niki minaj and shit like that getting all the limelight. mainstream music is all so wrong

That's the thing.

Mainstream music isn't always bad it's just overplayed.

Try cutting radio one, etc out of your life and if you own a TV, throw it away or sell it.
It makes it alot easier to appreciate music you'd probably dislike had it been forced on you.

"This is a Stone's Throw Records promo only. Not for retail sale." (or something similar) has haunted me for years. There's one album I've got on here (can't remember which one of the top of my head) that's excellent but has that all over it lol.

Cornish - I don't watch TV or listen to radio. I have to be specifically informed about the latest mainstream "hit" by someone. People mentioning the shit that gets played on Radio 1 normally gets met with a blank stare from me & they're almost always incredibly shocked (or don't believe me) that I have no idea who they're talking about.

Wu Tang have always been pretty good to their fans in the whole i think give or take the odd dodgy concert i think you have been victim to one of their Dodgy shows as well ?
.I do believe they do it for the luv of the music . Next year will be 20 since 36 Chambers was released fuk time flies . Still sounds crisp today mind.

Anyone heard Peanut butter Wolf & CharizmA ?

CHARIZMA is dead he was shot but the stuff they did put out was dope

Yeah, I've got a Madlib album like that. And Jehst's latest, and Percee P's I think, which is a nightmare as it's on about every fifteen seconds.

Brimz - 36 Chambers is timeless.

I have been a victim of Wu-tang's general unreliability when it comes to showing up for gigs but I still wouldn't call it a dodgy show. Method Man & one or two others dropped out one time when it was specifically billed as being the full team. They still tore the fucking roof off though, and not one of us was surprised that a couple of them were no shows. Every time I've seen them (no matter who has or hasn't shown up) they've killed it.

Jan - My MF Doom VV2 album is like that. "Media play only, not for duplication" every 30 seconds lol.
