Whats your plans? <3

Well turns out last night at the casino and strip club I spent more than I should have, checked my balance today and it's not funny. So yeah, I'm basically skint as fuck, gonna stay in and watch films. Hope you lot have a more exciting weekend.

i get £2.67 for me efforts

We'll give you £3 from now on, and don't say we don't look after you. ;)

Dilemma - continue my boycott of the Swans reunion or accept the offer of a ticket and maybe face three hours of boredom as they play the overhyped, boring, ponderous shite on the new album?

I'm torn.

your into bands and stuff PTCH? only seen you mention djs and things on here before

Go outside & smoke fags while they're playing the shite new stuff? That's what I do if I go to see a band whose early stuff I was into but hate their newer stuff. The second that first chord hits from one of the new tunes it's a swift 180 & straight to the bar or straight outside to smoke.

Good in theory, and exactly what I would normally do.

Unfortunately they're 'only going to play new stuff' and maybe one old song.

And the new stuff lasts for half an hour or more on record, so were I to do that, it'd end up being a 3-hour fag break, essentially.

I am. Basically hip hop is the constant, techno/house has been pretty constant for the past 6 or 7 years as well, & I drift in & out of listening to other stuff. I like most genres of music. Just not bro-step or liquidpsypishyerpants-trance etc. I'm a "techno snob" according to one of my mates but I'm not really, I am a music snob though. I love dance music but mention trance to me & I'll spit in your eye. I love hip hop but try & talk to me about Lil Wayne's new LP & I'll kick you in the shin etc etc.

Fuck that then. Nothing worse than going to see a band that you like & hating it. I'd normally never advise you to stay in your wee wank den, but I think it sounds like the best option.

ahh cool. yeah same like most genres. apart from hardcore and shit like that

speaking of hip hop, havent looked up any for awhile, in the mood for some tunes, used to spend hours on youtube hunting around. might crack on with some boardwalk empire season 2 n have a lil look. recommend me some stuff to look for. think im gonna have a listen to some more DJ Krush tunes. never get bored of listening to Premo

Just in further reply to this. I've set iTunes to list stuff by most recently played. Having a look through it now to see what shows up that isn't hip hop or dance.

We've got:

A bit of Michael Jackson
Stone Roses
Kool & The Gang
Jamie T
The Libertines
Blur
The Music
The Doors

That's a sample of my non hip-hop/dance music in the past few weeks. Just on my laptop. Prolly listen to most stuff on my iPod though.

Re hip hop - You listened to Action Bronson? He's good if you like that New York, cocaine & guns rap without being too cheesy. Like Wu-tang. In fact, he sounds far too much like Ghostface considering he's a big fat bearded white guy lol. Get his mixtape/album with Statik Selekta

Check out this album Dan it's 2009 i think it's fukin brilliant U God Dopium ignore the re mixes at the end apart from tht it's classic Wu Tang

Scotty Watty is on the 1st tune one n i think he's fukin nuts gonna check some more of his stuff

Some decent hip hop for you Dan. Just did the same with iTunes but I set it to list them in order of most recently added to see what new-ish stuff I've got on there.

These are all full mixtapes/albums

Talib Kweli - Attack The Block
JJ Doom (MF Doom & Jniero Jarel) - Keys To The Kuffs (I love this album)
MA Doom (Masta Ace & MF Doom) - Son Of Yvonne (possibly album of the year, Doom only does the production tho, no verses from him on it)
Jean Grae - Jeanius (this isn't new at all, but I clocked some new stuff by her & it made me think of this.)

It's a sad state of affairs when almost all of you will know who Nicki Minaj is but probably not even 10 of you will know Jean Grae, let alone have any of her stuff. She's incredible.

Jean Grae - Keep Livin - I can't remember what track this beat originally comes from but it's a belter. Another %) as fuck piano sample.

Jean Grae - "Kill Screen" (Official Video) - Lyrically this is some next level shit. Probably a greater variety of words on this one track than you'll find on most entire albums.

ok cheers you amazing peoples gonna give them a listen. i fooking love piano stuff

you like Edan dont you brimz? do you like Edan PTCH? do you like Aseop rock? i aint too sure on this aesop guy

Aesop Rock - Daylight
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dd_W_x3nclY

i love the way that starts, the beat and everything, but cant decide if his voice gets on my tits or not. do like the chorus a lot on that

jesus fuck that Jean Grae - Keep Livin tune is a right belter indeed. instantly fallen inlove with this. right uplifter of a tune. tunes like that are why i love hiphop
