Well, what's the argument regarding wars in Iraq & Afghanistan then? You obviously know the score based on that comment. If there was no oil round there (& George Bush wasn't choking for a wee go at Saddam) then none of this would have happened.

9/11 would still have happened. I highly doubt the response would have been the same if there wasn't a massive payday for lots of people on the cards though.

I'm pointing out your flawed logic, saying "we shouldn't respect their human rights because they don't respect human rights in their country" is totally counter productive and backwards and makes us EXACTLY like them which apparently you don't want to be like. LOL at 'who started it'. Think about why the twin towers was attacked, this shit was going on LONG before 9/11 mate. Twin Towers was just a convenient excuse for war in Afghan. A war against a country who had NOTHING to do with the twin towers, most Afghans even today when shown a picture of the twin towers or the planes being smashed into it have no idea what it is. The Afghan people didn't attack the twin towers nor did the Afghan powers that be. It was, masterminded by Saudi born Bin Laden who turned out was hiding in Pakistan. So why are we at war in Afghan again?

I watched a docu on Al Jazeera about it, they went to Afghanistan and showed them pictures of the twin towers and the planes crashing into them and asked them what it was, none of them knew. They were asked to guess, they guessed it was something that happened in Kabul or Islamabad.

But thats the thing, how are they defending you ? their day to day work in whatever sand ridden shithole they are in has no real direct effect on your life or security, unless your willing to swallow everything these despicable politicians tell you.
I am all for a bit of capitalism, I would just like a politician to be honest for once, create a manifesto tell people ..aye if we go here , I promise you this is what petrol prices will be in x amount of years

I would have had far less objection to that than this 9-11 and WMD bullshite

Its like when 9-11 happened and 1 hour later they showed footage on US news networks and BBC News 24 of people in the middle east burning Isreali flags and US flags.

Turns out a few weeks later that the US news networks had used stock footage and these so called " celebrations" happened months beforehand and were related to something entirely different.
 
Didn't everyone here learn about propaganda at school and how it majorly affected public opinion and made it easier to go to wars, and now we are all eating it up as though we'd never heard the word propaganda.

I heard similar recently about the protests in the middle east (arab spring etc) that when they were showing footage supposedly about 'X' country protesting, half the time they were just using any old footage of middle eastern looking people having a protest and a lot of it wasn't actually from the country they claimed or filmed when they claimed it was. :\

Indeed, our day to day lives probably become more dangerous when we go to war because we end up annoying more people. It just builds more and more hate. It's not like you can even justify recent wars they've been bullshit and everyone was lied to about why we were fighting them.

The Nazis were the kings of propaganda. They practically invented it, at least in the way it's used now.

Was it Goebbells? I get them confused. Was he the propaganda master? Like actually producing full scale movies n shit.
