Is it that easy to get housing benefit? I'd have thought if I applied for it the now they'd just tell me that I can't have it as I'm not paying any rent & that if I said I need it so that I can start paying rent elsewhere they'd tell me to fuck off. I thought I would have already had to be living somewhere on my own when I lost my job & applied for JSA & HB.
I mean, I could probably quite easily rent a room off a mate if I could walk into the giro shop & ask them for the money for it. I wouldn't expect to get it though.
And aye, a second lulz to MM's one. They don't sort out anything right away.
A (female) friend of mine has just rented out a room to a complete stranger. Apparently with absolutely no interview process other than "Do you like the room?" "Have you got the money?" to some Irish roofer guy off Gumtree. She's off her nut. The cunt will probably be sound but you'd think you'd ask for some sort of references or something before giving a random guy the keys to the flat you live in. She's probably done exactly what I would do if I was looking for a female flatmate, simply thought "Shaggable?" haha.

I will technically be living there whilst I'm working at my current job in Cammbridge, although the house is in Portsmouth. The benefits place said to me that if I'm on a low income which I will be on half pay from my job in Cambridge whilst off sick then I will be eligible for housing benefit. Eventually when I do lose my job I will be able to claim JSA too and full housing benefit.

Never met him. Found out in a thread some time ago that we live 5 minutes from each other. From what I can gather rockstar ripped him off, and vice versa. I don't know him other than a few PMs

Why doesn't your mate pretend to charge you rent & go halfers with you on the housing benefit? As long as he keeps the supposed rent below a certain limit he doesn't even need to declare it for tax purposes (rent-a-room scheme, I can't be arsed remembering or looking up any more info on it but it's not hard to find).
We can't take action on hearsay, I'm very unhappy about this and have been for sometime. If someone can forward me a PM we will take action otherwise it's almost certain they will remain to rip off all and sundry

He is actually mates (apparently) with a more regular poster on here. MrBuffnStuff or something like that. I can remember MrBuff or whatever his name is mentioning ages ago that g_p had met his new bird. So, unless he can say anything to the contrary I wouldn't trust that cunt either.
Apologies to MrBuff if my mind is playing tricks on me (Geto Boys style) but I'm fairly sure I remember that.
