Hello, I am prescribed to Adderall IR 20MG. I only take half afternoon and do my school work.

But I have difficult time in sleeping... So I've recently was prescribed Zoloft but the side effects weren't working out work me... so my doc switched me to Celexa and ambian for sleep and anxiety aid. (my doc won't give me xanax...)

anyways, should I take celexa at night?
while, taking ambian when only needed to aid my sleep?

I don't want to depend on any drugs... (I had a bad habit of Oxy's before)
so, Adderall helps me with mood and energy... but the crash is harsh.. I feel depressed at night and very panicky and anxious.

Zoloft made me feel very "MUTED" so I didn't really like it... also it increased my insomnia.

Will taking celexa help me compared to zoloft?

and what can I expect from celexa +adderall combo (taking it together in the morning)

Also, I've never taken ambian before... are the effects similar to Xanax?

Celexa is just going to help you flatten out your mood OVER TIME but that's it. You need to request lorazepam/xanax/diazepam (any type of benzo) to help you with the come-down. If you are afraid about developing a habit/need for them and u said you had a problem before, you can request a beta blocker. But my question is If you are taking ambien, why do u still have a problem with insomnia when you were taking zoloft?

Then you need to find an alternative to benzos for your anxiety and stay away from benzos.
This is prob why your doc is trying the celexa.
Celexa is prescribed for:
Treatment of depression and prevention of relapse.
Treatment of panic disorder with or without agoraphobia.
Treatment of obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD).

Do you get anxious if you don't take any Adderall?

Only you would know after a few weeks, no-one else would be able to tell you this.

No. (try forget about the xanax).

Definitely take the Adderall earlier than you have been.
The Celexa can be taken morning or evening.

Celexa works good for anxiety in my opinion. I find it keeps me awake, but you can take it morning or night. Take adderall early, because if you combine adderall and ambien, you'll black out and prolly go to jail.

Your doc actually gave you Ambien with Adderall? I've never heard of that before. Mainly because Ambien and Adderall's mechanism of action are exactly the opposite of each other. I'm not sure of the half-life of Ambien (I'm going to assume at least 8+ hours) but if you took your Ambien, and woke up and took your Adderall, you wouldn't feel the effects of either one! - Not to mention that taking both of those everyday is horrible for your body because of the extreme increase & decrease of Dopamine, Norepinephrine, GABA, and Serotonin.

In my opinion, that combo of medications could potentially be very dangerous - especially if taken for an extended period of time. However, since I am not a physician, I can't say for certain what the outcome of such a combination could/will be. However, I have done hours upon hours of research on the brain and the way drugs effect it, and I can safely say - from the research that I have done - that combo is dangerous.

Does your doctor know about this?!? If he does, then he should be fired and investigated by your local county police! If you really did have an addiction problem in the past, he should NEVER have prescribed your TWO addictive substances!

If your doctor doesn't know about this. You should tell him immediately. If you are prone to addiction and have a history of medication abuse, you need to stop taking Adderall and Ambien and move onto something that isn't addictive or can be abused if you really don't want to depend on drugs.

If you honestly don't want to depend on drugs then your should stop taking everything as your body and brain will become reliant on all of your medications in order to live. However, using medication to co-exist is nothing to be ashamed of! Some people really need medication in order to live a happy and fulfilling life! Take me for example. I have diagnosed Narcolepsy and ADHD. I honestly can't go a day without taking my Adderall or else I can barley keep my eyes open! It really is something that I need in order to live my life.

You can role your eyes all you want at me, but you know I'm right ;P

Hell no, no offense, but I don't.

Your doc actually gave you Ambien with Adderall? I've never heard of that before.

Probably one of the most popular scripts, but if you say you've never heard of it before, who am I to argue.

2-3 hours

but if you took your Ambien, and woke up and took your Adderall, you wouldn't feel the effects of either one!

Firstly I don't think the OP would do this and secondly with a half life of 3 hours if you "woke up" then the ambien would be at the end of its half life and therefore if the OP took adderall he/she would definintely feel its effects.

I have diagnosed Narcolepsy and ADHD. I honestly can't go a day without taking my Adderall or else I can barley keep my eyes open! It really is something that I need in order to live my life.

The OP has explained that he/she has a valid medical condition and therefore is in a similar position to yourself,
"It really is something that I need in order to live my life."
the OP is also wanting to achieve the above goal.

I'm not even going to go into your attack on the doctor as this post would become much to long.

I can tell the OP first hand that Ambien is a scary drug. I can take 10mg and not fall asleep but I will end up doing some stupid shit and not remembering one bit of it. Somehow or another, it really messes with your memory (and probably much more). Eventually at night I just get tired around 2-3:00am and drop. I don't think the Ambien has anything to do with it. Now, if you take more than that at one time, I'm guessing you'd get more messed up but still I don't know if you'd fall asleep or not. Just be careful cause it's some weird shit!

It's a sleeping pill.
Take it and get into bed and close your eyes and go to sleep.

Don't take it and then think that you will go to bed when you feel it starting to relax you, this is what causes all the shit you hear about ambien and all hypnotics.
