Intoxication, drug overdoses lead to 22 minors hospitalized during Wallingford, Connecticut, USA.

WALLINGFORD - Nearly two dozen people were taken to various hospitals in the area for intoxication or drug overdoses during a concert held at The Oakdale Theater.

A total of 22, all described as "underage," were hospitalized throughout the night, during a show headlined by musical artist Pretty Lights, according to Wallingford Fire Department Captain Joseph Czentnar.

Calls for medical help began coming in around 9:30 p.m. and continued throughout the night, he said.

"It quickly escalated to 22 underage intoxicated or overdose patients who were sent to various local hospitals," Czentnar said.

The condition of the 22 taken to the hospital was not immediately known.

Two arrests were made in connection with the overdoses, Police Lt. Glen King said. They included Eric Rosado of 33 Trafton Road, in Springfield, Mass., as well as Nicholas Pettinelli, of 2 Rock Ridge Road in New Britain.

Rosado was arrested and charged with possession and sale of hallucinogens, King said.

He was released on $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 16. Czentnar confirmed that the hallucinogens included LSD and bath salts.

Pettinelli was arrested and charged with breach of peace, interfering with police and failure to submit ID, King said. He was released and is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 15.

Pretty Lights, whose real name is Derek Vincent Smith, is an electronic music artist. He headlined the show, which also included performances by Eliot Lipp and Keys N Krates, according to the Oakdale website.

Oakdale representatives could not immediately be reached for comment.

Not much to say, other than this was an absolute disaster and a shameful reflection of what used to be a good scene.

There were high school kids dropping like flies. Kids were all strung out everywhere. No MDMA love to be found, just strung out kids.

Truly a good venue, especially for the suburbs... decently sized, holds up to 5,000 people.

Sorry about the formatting everyone, was being a bit careless.

I guess the people who attend often make a party. was it a decent set up? I wonder why so many kids were dropping? 22 seems like an awful lot for 1 gig. How many people would have been there?

We have raves here for several thousand, often underage and it's pretty rare for more than a few people to goto hospital afaik.

Bad batch of drugs perhaps?

Yeah arrests were made for "bath salts" and "LSD" (likely fake LSD)

Agreed, the true underground events go off without much issue... seems like the mainstream electronic music scene produces more trouble.

the venue looks like it could be a great place to rave if it had the right crowd and set up and dj's/live acts. i had a look at the places website, they had some pics of it. looks pretty big inside.

Let's all go and surprise the hell out of people by using responsibly and not having overdose/freakout death-trips.

I hate these rave dealers, giving dangerous chemicals to clueless kids and giving gasoline to this neverending media firestorm

i guess thats why high school kids and raves dont mix well....
these kids clearly cant handle it thats why i like 21 and over shows or at the very least 18+

I bet loads of 25i were involved. If this weren't a harm reduction forum i'd say fuck those kids, they got what they deserved. But it is a harm reduction forum, so i won't say that
