I took dexedrine and don't feel anything! Is this normal?

I took a 15mg dexedrine pill around 3 hours ago, before which I had just eaten, and I don't feel anything. I don't have ADHD I'm mainly taking this because I have a huge midterm I'm studying for and my friend told me that it will help me focus and retain information easier. Apparently, it's supposed to decrease your appetite which I don't feel, and you are supposed to be much more focused which I have not noticed has happened, it feels just as how it does when I study without taking the drug. The only thing I've noticed is that time goes by quicker. Is there a reason why I haven't felt the affects of the drugs or is this normal because I thought I was supposed to feel it after 30 minutes to an hour. Please reply ASAP.
 
Dexedrine gives a very mild high in low doses, you probably wont notice it much, but seeing as your not recreationally using it, 15mg should be a good dose. I think it's relatively normal you don't notice any effects. Did you get a full nights sleep prior to taking this pill? There are a lot of things that may factor in.

If you're studying for an exam, you don't want to be "high" anyway IMO. It just ends up distracting from the whole reason you took amphetamines in the first place. Focus on studying and you'll be fine.

In all honesty, going by the rushed-sounding nature of your post and the fact that you didn't use paragraph breaks, it sounds like the Dexedrine is working...
 
Thank you both for your opinion. Yes, I did sleep the night before and I also slept last night too, which is weird because I heard that it causes high insomnia.
 
Have you been taking Dexedrine regularly? Tolerance to amphetamines grows rapidly. Also, are you taking the XR (extended release) or IR (instant release) formulation?
 
Nope, this is my first time. And I'm actually not too sure. I just bought them off of a friend who has a supplier for them because she said it helps with studying, similar to how adderall does (which I also haven't tried before).

Also, is it safe for me to take another pill now? I took a 15mg one at 10 pm last night, it's now noon.

Are they capsules with beads in them or are they tablets? The capsules are the XR formulation and the tablets are the IR formulation.

And yes, it is safe to take another pill now.

Adderall and Dexedrine are quite similar. Adderall is a mixture of dextroamphetamine and levoamphetamine, whereas Dexedrine is just dextroamphetamine. Adderall works better for some people and Dexedrine works better for others. If you're used to instant-release Adderall and are taking extended-release Dexedrine that may explain why you're not feeling the effects as much as you'd expect.
 
Oh, they're the capsules with beads so they're XR. I've never taken any other amphetamine or drug, this is my first time taking any stimulant so there's no way I could have a tolerance. My friend sold it to numerous people and they all said they had insomnia, no appetite and studied for hours.
 
That is quite odd. Are you taking any other medications (prescription or otherwise) and/or any other drugs? There are many things that interact with amphetamines and can cause their effectiveness to be reduced or even eliminated. Do you have any medical conditions?

Insomnia, lack of appetite and increased focus are the usual side effects of amphetamines. You should be experiencing them as well.
 
I took 2 Advil liquid gels about 40 minutes after I took dex but other than that I'm not on any other drugs. And no I have no medical conditions.

Not a problem. I guess you just have a natural tolerance to stimulants (some people do - it is not unheard of).

Do you use caffeine at all? I'm scratching my head here...lol
 
I do drink caffeine but none the day of, or even the week of now that I think about it.

I was just kind of concerned as well because could this be a sign that I do have ADHD or something similar which is why I didn't notice the effects of it? Is that a possibility?
 
It is certainly a possibility. But I'm not a doctor and even if I was I wouldn't give you an Internet diagnosis. ;)

Are you feeling increased focus and motivation from that second dose you took?
 
I took it an hour and a half ago and I don't really feel the difference.. Same as usual.

i tried aderall 3 diff times not to get high just to be more productive at work (my boss handed them out lol) and all 3 times nothing .. at all.. in fact i think i even went to bed earlier than usual on at least 1 of the nights... i was wondering if that meant i was adhd or add too... i dont really have any other symptoms of it tho... talked a lot in school and got bored a lot but i always thought it was cuz the work was too easy for me as i also have a high iq.... weird

I found 15mg of adderall xr (but I crushed the beads and parachuted), didn't have much of an upper effect. I actually just got easily angered and overall felt dull and a bit more anxious. However, once I took two 15mgs at once, so 30mg, parachuted and with some baking soda before, I got a much more productive, enjoyable stimulant high. So basically, at 15mgs I got no worthwhile stimulant effects, it could be the same thing for you, you may just need a slightly larger dose to feel noticeable effects.

hhm maybe... i have no idea if i am correct on the dosage i tried.. if they come in 30 mg caps with the balls i wanna say it was that.. i kinda parachuted i didnt crush up the balls i just opened the caps and swallowed... i got a kick out of the fact that the pill said "amphetamine salts" or methamphetamine salts or something like that
 
I remember buying 30 dexidrines and I was unable to get high off them and all I noticed was that I would get wicked tired about a hour after snorting or taking the pills. Then I pulled into a Walgreens parking lot at 9:00pm (didn't know if they were open or not) I had about ten dexidrine pills left in my wallet and three police cars surrounded my car with flashing lights, a spot light on me yelling things into a megaphone. For the next hour the policed searched the car and me, appartently the person closing the store at Walgreens called 911 and reported a burglary. The police didn't find the dexidrine because they didn't take my wallet out of my pocket when they were searching. When the police officer got to the side of the car I moved my hands and he said, "I'm gonna rip you out of the window if you move like that again." Other then that they were pretty cool about everything and let me leave with a rejection sticker and the dexidrines.

Unable to get high of these, Adderall, ritilan, etc but not Dexidrine and I noticed getting extreamly tired awhile after everytime I took them.

Yeah it would of said amphetamine salts, don't really see what's funny about it. Ontopic though, I've noticed that low dosages of d-amp or mph or anything like that really isn't that noticeable. Like there definitely is the effect there, but it's quite underlying, affecting you without you maybe even being aware of it. Also, when you haven't done something before you really don't know what to expect, so just with many other drugs, you might not think it's doing anything because you don't know what to expect and what to be aware of.
