I posted this information on my blog as soon as it became available, but wanted to post it here too because it seems like every week I hear about some overdose, freakout, and death from RCs where there's no toxicology data that's been released.

IN March, two deaths were attributed to the designer arylcyclohexylamine, Methoxetamine.

in April the UK Advisory council on the misuse of drugs cited these deaths as primarily reasons for banning MXE.

on 07/20/2012, the coronor's inquest report became available which stated:

Name of Deceased: JACKSON Angela Mary

Narrative Verdict - The deceased died after obtaining and taking Phenazepam and Methadone both obtained illeagally in unknown quantities.

Name of Deceased: PASCALL Anthony

Narrative Verdict - The deceased died after obtaining and taking Phenazepam and Methadone both obtained illeagally in unknown quantities.

To date, there have been no known fatalities associated with methoxetamine.

The U.K. must have had an awful itch to get the drug outlawed, if they are basing laws on unverified information.

we must fight for change, fight for easy access
outlawed for the capabilities it provides!

Do not get me wrong, I love MXE, but I think that this substance should be made illegal worldwide.

I know it really helps for us, experienced (or semi involved) drug users to change our habits/personality/perception, but this substance should be held in low profile.
People, who already know about it will always find a way to source it, but it should be hidden from mainstream society, at least in the near future.

It is really HIGHLY addictive substance, and this is not a substance to be tried by a person who has not tried other drugs. It should be not the FIRST drug.
Furthermore, it is a pretty new thing in the world and we are the guinea pigs, we can take the risks. I do not want for this magical substance be sold in headshops on the street, yet. Not all people are ready for it.

It gets out of hand pretty quick.. It might be a new epidemic. It causes mania/hypomania and used by disturbed people it WILL cause problems and do more harm than good.

I know it might sound crazy, it is just my personal opinion.
Cheers.

^ Profoundly disagree. Fuck anyone that treats MXE carelessly and gets burned (I somewhat include myself in this group :D). Pushing drugs into the black market causes responsible and legitimate users to be harmed by a number of factors including unknown purity, dangerous cuts, and legal issues, and the desire to nanny and protect careless users from their own stupidity is not a valid justification for any of these headaches.

So they've used same bull shit they did with 4mmc
And we can do the same fuck all about it
No loyers on the forum

And I suppose the drugs that only you personally enjoy should be legalized? Fuck this attitude.

How can it ever be right to send human beings to prison because they choose to consume or possess a specific molecule that you disagree with? I am a free being, and it is my right to choose what I want to consume. It no business of anybody or institution to decide what should or shouldn't be consumed and then act to enforce that decision by taking away the freedoms of those who choose to explore it.

What if I was a king and I decided that I didn't like the fact that you consumed sugar, and I decided to have you imprisoned in a castle for it? How does it feel to be behind bars for choosing to consume something which you enjoy, but which I arrogantly decided was wrong and as such everybody involved in it should be taken out of society?

Research into the humanitarian devastation caused by the "war on drugs" (such as 10,000 dead Mexicans every year and prisons full to bursting) and you might change your mind.

"To date, the mechanism of action of paracetamol is not completely understood. . Paracetamol toxicity is the foremost cause of acute liver failure in the Western world, and accounts for most drug overdoses in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand."
So lets ban that mxe!

Sorry I Hijacked the thread, do not take my jiberish too seriously.

No love for schizophrenic mind? :( (I should get a warning though)

To the OP: thanks for this info, very interesting. Deaths due to Phenaz and Meth make much more sense than MXE!

I actually posted a question in EADD asking if anyone knew if there had been any CONFIRMED deaths in the UK from direct MXE toxicity, so yours was a timely post.

Wasn't there also two guys that drowned while allegedly on MXE? Do you know anything about those? (I'd search myself but I'm on my phone and it's a pain in the arse!)

that was my 'hood.
story goes...
3 guys drink a lot and do a lot of MXE.
1 guy wakes up next to a pond, 2 guys are found dead, drowned in the pond.
the guy who woke doesnt remember his friends going into the pond....so why they were in the water will remain a mystery.

and it was deffo MXE they were on [ toxicology - see link ]

Yeah. I'm planning at some point of researching the deaths that have been attributed to the NBOMes and the 2c-x's in the US and Australia recently. I published this data in part because it was the misreporting in the UK on the actual number of fatalities associated with 4MMC that pushed through the cathinone ban in the UK. Mainstream psychedelic figures (ie. neurosoup --ish!) have been widely publicizing the NBOMe deaths and as far as I'm aware there aren't any tox reports available yet. This is totally irresponsible and disrespectful, IMO.

I was following the MXE death cases because of the theoretical pharmacokinetics of Methoxetamine was that it had opioid receptor activity and I kept emailing the Coroner's Office to comment on the acute cause of death (ie. if respiration / heart stopped like with an opiate overdose) so I could distribute any sort of info that would be relevant for harm reduction in a users dosing strategy.

If there are death attributed to RCs we need to know the acute cause of death so we can be aware of what the dangers are. We need to demand accountability in the media reporting too and demand for proof when a tragedy or mishap happens with RCs is reported. The Bath Salts Cannibal was only found to have trace amounts of marijuana in his system, and now Bath Salts Zombies are a mainstream meme. It's frustrating as well that people think cathinones are hallucinogens.

So far all these reports are doing is sensationalizing and damaging our community by pushing through legislation that intends to make us criminals. I likely won't have a lot of free time this month since it's the end of the semester, but if anyone else wants to help research the RC ODs and freakouts I think it would be an awesome community project.

reminds me of when those deaths were attributed to 2c-e, and as gymstud mentioned the days when every news story on drugs was about "meow". The government lied about drugs and the media just used there same stereotypical fear mongering. What else is knew?

Infuriating but I suppose it's not really surprising. Thanks for posting this OP.

Profoundly disagree in that I will not have violence used to prevent me from what I want to do with my body and what I put in it.
