Abandand mental asylum (haunted) and tripping

This made me laugh a lot. However, although I don't believe in ghosts at all, I am interested in all things gothic and horror related and I think it sounds like it could be really fun, although psychologically a bit risky. I agree with others that it would be a lot better with a least one other person, ideally a group. It'd ike an AR game of sorts, and the unscripted nature of the experience could make it either really fun or really boring.

Heh, if you find your cellar scary then an abandoned lunatic asylum is going to be terrifying! I love this idea for the sheer audacity of it, although it's not something I would do at this stage of my life. I'm too sensitive to dark shit. I can see how it might be psychologically useful in terms of overcoming fears of certain things, but you woulddefinitely need a group of people to trip with to reassure each other or have a good laugh with. If you're tripping solo in such a place you might end up running screaming from the building :D

The haunted hotel thing sounds better, maybe for a first try, because you don't have the insecurities that you have huddling in a sleeping bag alone in the middle of a rusty decrepit abandoned building. At least you know you're in safe surroundings and that other people are in the same building in case things go south (although perhaps that's the point of the original idea, letting go of the safety line).

I would take something friendly at first. I definitely wouldn't go eating a bunch of shrooms or ayahuasca because they are just way too introspective and headfucky, there would be no fun in it if that happens. My instinct would be to take a phenethylamine such as one of the 2Cs. Maybe even something like DOC, because emerging from such a place back to the relative safety and welcoming of familiar surroundings could be an even more beautiful thing if you are still tripping.
 
i would chose to trip on a dissociative in this kind of setting rather than a psychedelic.
the idea sounds like fun and doesnt sound dangerous in any way if you take common sense or a friend with you :) im interested in reading a trip report afterwards :)
 
Mate, I'm only a few hours train journey away from where you are and half tempted to take you up on that. The 2C-B sweetens the deal significantly I must say. I'm way too busy with work and studies for the foreseeable future though. Maybe next summer?
 
if your gonna do it use a psych thats going to mess with your mind and thoughts...2cb is more good for heightened sex drize and seeing pretty colours...if you want the spooky thoughts etc wouldnt it be better to use LSD? in my mind it would be sort of contradictory to use 2cb in an environment like that...dark, dull, and damp...each to their own
 
Alls i have to say is why? I dont understand what your purpose for doing such a thing would be. For novelty? I dont get it?
Set and Setting is all I have to say, this post to me just seems like your trying to be proud that you can handle a trip in such a place, meh good luck with this man.

I did this with my friend and it was awesome. Alone, i can't really comment on. You know if you like getting scared to hell or not, I know I do. I probably wouldn't recommend it to anybody though, I can see it easily impressing permanent psychological changes to the majority of folks.

It's clear you don't understand. I'd like to try something like this one day, and it's certainly not for dicksizing purposes. Why do people enjoy 'haunted houses' at theme parks, or horror films, or rollercoasters? So they can brag they didn't shit their pants? No. Some people like scary stuff. Taking a psychedelic in such an environment is a way of enhancing the experience.
 
a dissociative would be great in such an place(i feel the need to say once more :D )

Did you ever do this gymstud? A guy I know was into exploring an abandoned mental hospital before it was demolished but he did this sober, and he almost got arrested a few times. Also they said it was like alovesupreme wrote that it was not structurally sound in a lot of places.

i love urban exploration but i'd never do it under the influence of anything stronger than a joint and a 22 oz bottle of brew... basically what you are doing involves trespass and you are going to have a lot more difficult a time of being discreet and avoiding the attention of security/police/nosy neighbors when you are tripping balls... once you're in there, it's going to be dark and likely structurally unsound in places. you really need to be on top of your game to make sure that you're not going to fall thru a hole in the floor; that the stairs aren't going to collapse under your weight... you may encounter other people in an abandoned property with malevolent intentions; how are you going to deal with them if you're tripping? and when you're done, you'll just pass out there? or drive home? i hope not! plus there's all the unique risks of an old hospital: sharps, biological waste, god knows what... i think you'd be very irresponsible to go through with this. you should be at least nominally cogent when entering an abandoned structure.

LOL! My friend and I were going to visit the Mansfield Reformatory whilst on a small or medium dose of oral MXE. We planned to take like 30-50mgs and pocket a few 10 or so mg caps in case we felt like consuming more. Things got in the way though and it never happened, maybe sometime in the future though.
 
I think this was a fun idea but I've moved on from it
And ppl have pointed out some good reasons against it
When I was a teen I used to get stoned and or drunk
In delarict buildings that never turned bad but I was in my
Home town so its a bit differnt
 
I don't believe in ghosts, but why would you want to trip in such a location? This is surely an incredibly stupid idea bound to end very terribly, don't you think?
