The What's Good on TV Thread Vs. S'all Good Man

I like films / series where you can come to your own conclusion but what was there to interpret in the final episode of Sopranos? It seemed pretty straight forward to me, not really an ending where you could come to different outcomes.

watching this now: Rich Hall's Inventing the Indians

I like Hall a lot. He's doing a stand-up job of slating Columbus and immitating the Irish

[edit]
haha, he's just called Miley Cyrus a 'disneyfied whore' for having a dreamcatcher tattooed on her torso and for being disrespectful ... I think he also said something like she needed 'an achey breaky jaw' for the crime
S'on my "To Watch" list is that. Rich Hall's amazing :)
Absolutely loved Rich Hall's Fishing Show!

Was I just imagining it or did I see an ad on tv for a sequel to comic strips 'five go mad on mescaline' that is due to air soon?

Five go to rehab. UK Gold.

fantastic, thanks. Something to look forward to on tv at last, this on top of the new red dwarf is cheering me up a bit.

Sweet baby jebus there's a new series of superjail and it's already 5 episodes in. I thought there wasn't gonna be another.

YEEEEEEHAWWWW!

PTCH/Felix ... the new season of The League is 3 episodes in ... it's not bad either. Not as good as the last but still lulzworthy

When you mean the league do you mean the show about Fantasy Football? I love that

Currently watching Hurricane Sandy watch on CNN
That motherfuckers gonna be a bitch

yup that one. I don't even like fantasy footy but it's still accessible to me and shit hot scriptwise

gonna watch this in a bit. Dawkins can be annoyingly abrasive and sensationalist but I generally like what he's got to say ... need to see the first 2 eps, didn't know it had already started

Sex, Death and the Meaning of Life
- 10pm - 11:10pm More4 Series 1 - Episode 3

About this programme
3/3. Evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins explores why both religious and non-religious people can struggle to find meaning in their lives, as he travels from the casinos of Las Vegas to Buddhist monasteries in the foothills of the Himalayas. He also meets Ricky Gervais, who discusses how he finds inspiration, and the presenter himself reveals that scientific enquiry provides his own engine for existence. Last in the series.

Just watched this. Wasn't bad but Martina Cole's narration is annoying as fuck.

Martina Cole's Lady Killers - Series 1 - 6. Elizabeth Bathory

About this programme
6/6. The crime writer presents a profile of 16th-century Hungarian aristocrat Elizabeth Bathory. She and four collaborators were accused of torturing and killing virgin girls, with one witness alleging they were responsible for more than 600 deaths. Last in the series.

I love the league, big fan of NFL as well so like to spot the guest appearances from players
Used to play Fantasy football but its just too addictive and actually takes away from the enjoyment of watching the games, but can really relate to the show, the writing is razor sharp

This is just starting on More4. I think I've seen half of it before but not the whole thing

True Stories: America's Serial Killers 11:10pm - 12:30am

A sad parade of mothers tries hard to smile at happy memories of the laughing daughters in dog-eared family photographs. But these young women are dead, victims of a serial killer who murders prostitutes advertising their services through the American classifieds website, Craigslist.

Ten bodies have so far been recovered from Gilgo Beach on wealthy Long Island, but the killer is yet to be caught. The bereaved families tell similar tales - of girls heading to the big city (New York) to make supposedly quick and easy money. Then there is silence; the girls go missing, but police aren’t interested and won’t file missing person reports. Then bodies are discovered; first four, then another six.

Chillingly, the 15-year-old sister of one victim was telephoned and taunted by the killer in eight calls over a month. The last one ended with: “Your sister is dead.”

About this programme
Documentary exploring the discovery of 11 bodies in Long Island, New York, and how the online sex trade contributed to some of the deaths. With the killer still at large, questions have been raised about the safety risks of clients allowed to search for sex workers on the internet. Featuring contributions by witnesses, police officers and the families of the victims.

turned that off, it's boring.

just looked on radio times and it says these Comic Strip repeats are on Gold

Series 1 - 2. The Comic Strip Presents: War 11pm - 11:40pm Gold

Series 1 - 3. The Comic Strip Presents: Beat Generation - 11:40pm - 12:20am Gold

BUT when I turn on Gold, it says channel is closed. I don't get it. It's only a freeview telly and I don't have a sky or virgin subscription but I should be able to see it. Even if it's subscription only, it shouldn't say closed, surely?

You don't get Gold on Freeview Marmz do you, or I never did, I'm sure? Get it on Freesat which is the other free-to-air satellite thing but that's no bloody good to you at the minute, is it?

yeah, after further investigation, it's on freeview 'subscription' with about 5 other channels ...

hrmn, oh well.
