Worst European food

Vegetarian cig kofte
One of the most reliable, cheap, healthy, and delicious vegan meals in Turkey is çiğ köfte. Pronounced chee kuf-teh, this dish used to be made with raw meat (ew!) but, luckily for us, health regulations have outlawed this. Nowadays, çiğ köfte is a spicy spread made of fine bulgur, tomatoes, and red pepper paste. Still, before buying I always make sure to double check. Just ask “Etsiz mi?” (that’s pronounced eht-seez mee). I recommend you order it as a durum (wrap). Each restaurant will have its own particular style, but in general you can expect your wrap to be spread with the çiğ köfte and a spicy pepper sauce, then stuffed with parsley, lettuce, arugula, maybe mint, drizzled with fresh lemon juice and pomegranate molasses, and sprinkled with salt. Any of these elements may be eliminated at your request. A durum will usually cost you no more than 3.00 Turkish Lira (about $2.00). Çiğ köfte restaurants will generally only serve çiğ köfte or very little else, so they are pretty easy to spot and I’ve seen them in just about every city in Turkey, making them a convenient, quick, and cheap vegan meal.

Trust me it was 65% vile and I've had steak tartare before and that was lovely.
I thought it was meat initially as it looked red and raw lol.

How bad can it be if it's just veg?

Generally you add hot sauce to bland food to give it taste. Let's be fair European food such as Italian, French, Spanish is generally considered to be some of the best cuisine in the world.

Now that I think about it I've had sheep testicles in Syria, they're quite common in the Middle East, they tasted like shit and I could only eat a couple. That's probably the single grossest thing I've had.

ive seen it referenced in frasier that british food is terrible, idk if this came from returning GI's after ww2 or what but when i eventually face the death penalty cottage pie or bangers and mash with rhubarb crumble will do very nicely for my last supper

dog doesnt seem so bad to me, in india they eat them and protect cows - though i think we've got it the tastiest way round

Camel brain is pretty common in butchers in morocco, didn't fancy actually eating it though, it was enough for me just to have a look in the butchers window and marvel at such delights.

I still think scottish food is some of the most bland, dire, 'I'm only eating this so I don't die of starvation' shite not fit to feed to animals crap I've come across in europe.

I only been to Scotland once when I was 11, spent the summer in Aberdeen studying English, first time away from home. I was lodged with this very posh family and honestly for what little I can remember the food was great, in the campus they were also organizing barbecues and stuff like that. Never ate well all the times I stayed with families in England.

to all the brain munchers; didnt all the new guinea cannibals contract horrible disorders from consuming human brains? cant imagine animal ones would be significantly different

That's because they were eating human brains, same specie you get it by eating human flesh not just the brains. Actually the disease is simlar to mad cow disease, as the cows were being fed grinded up waste from beef production. I think you can only get it when you consume meat from the your same specie.

Not european but Balut eggs look pretty fucking disgusting, you wouldn't catch me eating one of those.

Personally I don't see anyhting wrong in eating dog too though I am a huge fan of dog's I would not think twice about eating one.

Beat me to it :(

Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease was some serious issue, put me off Burgers for ages :(

This isn't European, and I'm not sure if it's more suitable to this thread or the Jimmy Saville one but ... anyone tried one?

Doner kebabs fall into a category all of their own I feel.
When pissed they are one of the most satisfying foods that man can find to eat.
But trying to eat a kebab when stone cold sober is another matter entirely.
You realise how unlike meat the meat tastes like and how they try to disguise this with hot chilli sauce in the hope you won't notice the crap you are putting into your mouth.
Whoever really fancies a kebab when sober, they are deffo the food of the drunk.
