for me i been off and on the shit i wish herion addiction on noone.. even people i hate unless u been there u don't understand ....

A cellie I had in jail at 26th and California taught me the sharpening trick of gently squeezing the needle between two pennies and slowly pulling the needle out. This doesn't remove any metal (which can cause more jagged edges), but just straightens out bent over tips. This works on about 75% of used rigs. And if you're concerned over your rig picking up something off the pennies, suck up and squirt out some rubbing alcohol a couple times. The copper coating on the pennies severely retards the growth of any bacteria, though.

Again makes sense to some degree. It would work like a knife steel, not sharpening but, straightening the tip. It's also, true that copper does have antimicrobial properties but. it's also true that modern pennies contain very little copper. While copper may help prevent bacterial growth it will not prevent all kinds of unknown crap that is usually on a penny. TBH I usually throw out pennies because they are so filthy and useless and anything that isn't worthy of my cupholder certainly isn't worthy of fixing a needle.

I'm not going to lie and say that these tricks don't make sense because to some degree they do. That said neither one is safe on a microbial level or even to prevent excess tearing. These are obviously old school tricks that slick junkies came up with because they had no choice, because they didn't have the resources of the modern user. Today it's much easier to get brand new clean rigs. Whether through a pharmacy or a needle exchange. I hope that you guys always seek new rigs if not for your overall health then for the health of your veins and the ability to keep using them.

Quick fact JB, pennies 1982 and later are worth more than a cent because they have a lot of copper in them. Might want to rethink throwing them out, or you could mail all your pennies to me.

Well what are they worth? On average anyway. I hate pennies. I'm pretty sure that even the modern penny cost more than a penny to make. It's just a stupid form of currency if you ask me.

I think they are worth 3 cents if I remember corectly. Pennies now a days are zinc with a copper clad. I have melted manny of them with my torch. As much as a pain in the ass that they are I don't really mind them too much. If they did away with them then everybody would round up to the nearest nickle. I still pick penny's up off the ground I ain't too proud.

This is probably a dumb question but I'm going to ask it anyway becasue I'm new to the scene. Is it anybodys experience that you are going to the same sopt for a while and the bags are good and a certain size and the one day the bags seem about half the size?

I've welded plenty of pennies too man. Nice green smokey zinc. Definitely not the healthiest thing though as it's pretty much everything bad about welding galvy.

Anyways I'd be happy to mail you my pennies. Just hook me up with some 49 cent stamps or however much they are now. The rest of my change will go in the vending machine where it belongs.

A box of pennies would probably cost me more for shipping then the value of it. Tell you what save them up and if I ever make it to your town I'll pick them up and well take them to the bar to pay for drinks. Lol

HOLY SHIT, THIS IS IDIOTIC. THIS WILL NOT SHARPEN YOUR RIGS. Syringe needles are machine sharpened to surgical edges as humans can not match the precision that machines have to give the sharpness required. You are actually making your rigs less sharp by doing this. Spend 2 freaking dollars at walmart and buy new syringes for fucks sakes.

There is no method to magically make your syringes sharper. Don't rub them on leather (or fake leather), don't rub them on a sharpening stone. BUY NEW ONES

^ sometimes you don't have a new one or cannot afford one because you counted pennies to the dope man for a small bag of dope because your sick and need a fix. Would it be better to reuse your old rig that was used for the last 10 shots or do you sharpen it on a matchbook? This is a hypothetical question not directed at anyone in particular.
