I'm starting to get fucked off about this thing tomorrow. Turns out the room we've got in this club only has speakers. I have no idea what type of speakers, or what is required to run them. The other two guys playing are semi-pro so I'd just assumed they were bringing everything with them (at least a fucking mixer & whatever else would be required to hook up to a club's speakers) but nope, one guy isn't prepared to bring his DJM & the other guy usually DJs with other other people & the mixer etc belongs to one of them who apparently "won't let it out of his sight". If this club just has passive speakers we're gubbed. All I have is a Traktor S4 which runs off RCA cables direct to a mixer or powered speakers. *angry-face*
 
Can you borrow an amp? You'd get away with it with an amp. Otherwise you're fucked...

I'd have assumed the same too, looks like they're not playing anyway, get hold of someone with a decent amp and play all night.

it is a nightmare when you turn up on the night and stuff doesnt work, make sure you have the kit you need etc.

been working with this new bloke for a few weeks, never met anybody so anxious, ive seen people anxious after stim binges but this dude is on another level

My mate's got a belter of an amp for a stereo, would that do? RCA cables from the S4 to the amp then what? I've not got a fucking clue what these speakers are like in the club or what cables would run from the amp to them. I've got spare RCA cables with adapters to take them up to something like a phono connection (can't remember the exact name, like a big headphone jack).

If it ends up being like that & I'm carting over 2k worth of stuff on the train (& sorting out this last minute nightmare) just so two other cunts can use it they can fuck right off. Once I've finished my set I'll just start unplugging everything like "There you go mate, there's plenty space for you to set your stuff up now. Oh that's right... you didn't bring any."

To be fair to one of the guys the mixer he normally uses doesn't belong to him, so can't blame him for not being able to use it, but I thought they'd have sorted this out long ago. Plus, he is trying to get in contact with the club to find out exactly what the score is with the speakers, but I now can't get in contact with the bird whose party it is lol.

You won't need a mixer with your s4, should all be ready to go, just boost the RCA's into the amp....

hmm some 6-APB arrived today and its pretty much white, should be beige... weird
 
may not be 6-apb at all, read somewhere the white stuff is rubbish and it should be tanned. all the previous stuff has been tanned and really nice, clean feeling

or perhaps its purer 6-apb... fuck knows. will be testing a small amount either way, not bombing any dodgy shit
 
Watching the new Red Dwarf for the first time, seems fairly similar to the old ones so far so should be good

Pretty high on marijuana too 8o

I'd love to, not my call though. Fuck knows what they were originally planning on doing. It was me that brought up the subject purely because I was asking something along the lines of "Will my S4 plug into your mixer no bother?" (obviously assuming that one of them was bringing full DJ gear, expecting CDJs etc as well). I was well prepared, got spare everything & adapters that I don't even know what they're for lol.

The club's got an amp & my pal whose party it is said she'd hire a mixer if she has to (I know a few places that'll hire out a mixer late & at short notice). She shouldn't need one though.
