I totally am. I have sound up I'll throw it on here. The touch of vinyl and mixing again felt like the touch of an old lover i fell right back into it like riding a bike. I live and breath music and have since I was a baby.
I posted in another thread I changed my user name I've been on here for a minute. I don't want to post it I dunno if my IP shows my other User name to you mods but either way thank you herbavore you have helped me along my path I really like TDS you guys are so supportive.

Nothing better than having a crowd at your fingertips. And on vinyl no sync button lol, its all on you I eat that shit up. I love to dance to I was getting down the whole time I wasn't spinning.
Its my church, so so good for my soul.

I will absolutely keep you guys updated. I'm so glad theres a healthy community of EDM heads here. Its awesome <3

Straight drum n bass tonight. All across the spectrum from old skool to liquid funk, neuro, jump up...
I've been mixing for about 9 years now. And with our new serato setup I'll delve off into all types at some points I'm sure. I produce drum n bass among other things. Some dubstep and minimal techno and whatever strikes me. I have a couple tracks up on my soundcloud I'll post the link up sometime here I need to add to it.
Thats traktor we're using but we have serato here that was my boys.

Only way to be Herby, only way to be. It's important we continue to nurture our inner Peter ( and Petra ) Pans as much as possible, don't matter how old we are, always being sure they're accompanied by a responsible adult, of course! ;)

Glad to see you're properly old school with the vinyl there SWS. None of that Pioneer Nexus nonsense going on. That's not DJing, it's working a computer FFS! ;) Vinyl = real, hands on feel for the music. :)

Amen I hear ya. If beatmatching, phrasing, Track selection and reading a crowd aren't in your repoitoire, you are not a dj. Not in my book. We made our bones and earned our frikkin stripes where I come from :D

You hang up your headphones for a bit? I really focus a lot on production now. I will spend hours just jamming in ableton. All of this is my lifelong passion and it is what i was meant to focus on. I have much to offer that chemicals almost took me away. Almost took me out.
Us addicts are such a talented bunch. Our tormented souls and battered minds can be counterproductive and deadly.
Its sad I've lost so many good fucking people... But we needn't go there do we?

Downloaded Reason, Ableton etc again for probably the fourth time just last week SWS. Dunno where to start with it. Used to play guitar ( badly ) and an old housemate had decks, 4-track, every kind of instrument back around '91, could make a tune with a garden sprinkler that guy, phenomenal talent. Always loved making music but just very, very bad at it! LOL. Looking to get a guitar ( electric ) again soon I can put through the Reason type stuff or alongside, see if I can pick it back up. Last acoustic kind of ended up in small bits and pieces the size of a match a coupla years ago. Few drunken anger issues at the time! I blame Foo Fighters for a chord change I just could not for the life of me get right. Ha! 8)

Yeah I've rewired reason through ableton, I'm much better at using live so thats all I need for most stuff. Although reason is very nice. You can't beat the effects and user friendliness of Live. Not to mention the endless amounts of Vsts and vsti's along with abletons sound engine. Eq'ing and mastering are what I've been focusing my attention on as that shit is so important to get a proper sounding tune (obviously). Its the hardest skill to really aquire for a reason i guess too.
Lives just so much fun. Once you start to get a handle on it its so intuitive that you pick techniques up faster and faster as you go along and put some brain power into it.

I must admit that I've neglected EDM for most of this year but DAMN IT I love it so much. I've been really struggling the last couple of days, and I just put on a beautiful goa trance mix recorded from 5 years ago, and it has instantly put a smile on my face and made my troubles seem less so <3 So uplifting and energising and beautiful.

I think last year it was Tales of Beatrix Potter by the first grade. They always make me so happy when it all gets put up and becomes a magical little world and the kids feel so proud that they made the set themselves.

Hahaha. I'm intrigued by your imaginings now n3o wondering what sort of mental image you got going on there but no, I don't think so? I may one day post a picture of me doing exactly that and we can see how the imagination compares with the reality! Chuckling away to meself as we speak. I like chuckling I do! =D Pfffft!

Oh, and hello lovely. Like the tat. Is there a special significance to the triangle, more than it being your current av I mean? Significant before you got a similar avatar?

Good mixes are like good movies, they bring such good memories with every beat, note, and mix. If that makes sense.

Dude I've been a mod on some nasty forums I'm not new at all.
