BBC News Tayside and Central Scotland ~ Stirling drug dealer called police to arrest him:

A drug dealer called the police and gave them his own description before handing himself in, a court has heard.

Alexander Lafferty, 19, rang Central Scotland Police and described a drug dealer operating near the Raploch Community Campus.

Stirling Sheriff Court heard that when officers arrived Lafferty was there waiting for them. He later told police he wanted to be jailed due to stress.

Sheriff Wyllie Robertson remanded him in custody for reports.

. . . . .

The court was told that officers went to the campus on Drip Road in Stirling, and found Lafferty standing in a doorway, wearing a grey jumper and blue Adidas T-shirt and holding a bag containing 15 blue tablets.

Mrs Orr said he was searched and police found 33 smaller bags on his person, containing another 485 tablets.

The court heard the tablets were later tested and confirmed to be 500 Valium

. . . . .

He said he wanted to be jailed due to stress

Doh! Possibly one of those times when contrary to the B.I.G.'s advice you perhaps should get high on your own supply? What complete muppetry, first order stuff! If it's stressing you that much how about, and I know this requires an enormous mental leap here that would escape most people of average intelligence, you just stop dealing drugs round college? :\ Jesus, the yoof of today? 8)

The guilt was eating him up. Kind of stupid, "Please come get me! It's getting too stressful! arrgghhh!!"

Surely defies all logic Crankinit. Not the sharpest knife in the drawer, is he? Maybe his Playstation had broke and he's been reading one too many 'Prison's gone soft' type stories in the Daily Fail about all the mod cons lined up for him, or maybe it's some crazy escalation of the ASBO as badge of honour thing? Whatever it is the guy's a complete fuckwit, that much is clear! Hope he enjoys the YOI, he's gonna get ripped to bits for this.

What the fuck? Why not just tell them you're using drugs, I'm sure you could still get some jail time and you know.. not have a felony for distribution :|

Not in the UK. You can't get prison time for personal use afaik. Especially not a Class C.

The truth shall set you Free!.. to pick up the phone, dial 911, and say, "I'm free this afternoon, I sell drugs and I'm guilty, please come pick me up after this animated cartoon."

I dont get it at all. He had all 500 pills? I have to assume he ordered exactly 500 pills because it is pretty odd for him to call the cops when he has got down to a round number. I bet he didn't even sell any! What a shame.

It is probably best that this person is in the authorities hands though, he is clearly a danger to himself and others.

I feel like I've seen something like this happen before on TV. Only the guy was basically pressured/forced/blackmailed into turning himself in for a crime as the lesser of two evils ("I'm going after those you love if you....don't call the police on yourself..."). Can't remember if what I saw was fact or fiction, though. But there has to be more to this.

Hmm, if I was a dealer, and stressed the fuck out, then I would stop dealing... Common sense has hit a new low.
