Heroin How long is a shot good in a needle?

I just prepped a shot with two bags in it. I decided i wanted to save it for later. I put the cap on and put it in my closet. How long will it last? Does it metabolize into morphine as soon as it hits the water or does it take a few hours?

Obviously you should use the shot as soon as possible. As keeping it in a syringe, clean and unused or not, bacteria will start growing almost immediately. I'm sure a day or two won't hurt, but when I've been caught in a similar situation, I do a simple trick that helps preserve the shot a bit better than keeping it out at room temp.

Take the shot in the needle, cap it (Obviously) and throw it in the freezer. This will help to keep the bacteria from growing and slow down any deterioration of the drug temporarily. Then when you are ready to use, let it thaw out by sitting at room temperature for an hour or so.

If you do not have access to a freezer for what ever reason... your second best bet would be to store it in as cool a place as possible away from direct sunlight (In a dark room/drawer if possible). Then obviously use it within a day or two for best results. In a freezer, it should last much longer, but you're better off doing it sooner if you can...

It does not stay good for long. There are other risks involved, more than just worrying about the heroin --> morphine.

Don't store shots prepped in syringes. Prep them when your about to do them.
