daily 40-60mg oxy, split 4-5 doses day....never can tolerate single dose >15mg....taken normal digestive route.....

by accident discovered that even quittin the oxy cold turkey while switching from Lexapro to Effexor literally made the withdrawal a non-issue at all....about 1 day i felt like crap....but the rest was a cruise.....stayed off for week or so then just got back on.....have been able to repeat the WD's very easily so long as I change the AD at the same time...(also done lexapro to zoloft, and effexor back to lexapro...)

is this just me an isolated thing or should be expected?? i was always crappin my pants about the horror stories of oxy wd's but i was shock to find that it was really a non-event for me.......if i quit an AD cold turkey all hell breaks loose and am a total wreck thou...but I know ADs arent meant to stop cold turkey

whats going on chemically here that the AD switch is doing or helping with?

Sounds like a strange occurence but I sincerely doubt that anti depressants have any effect whatsoever on opioids and the withdrawal symptoms. $0.02

not oxy....but perc yes but also much less dose, like half.....dont recall if it was that bad, if I dont remember then it most not have been.....i suffer from severe depression, the ADs just make me flat...the oxy lifts mood pretty well, althou its becoming lame after a year now due to tolerance or whatever, the euphoria is been long gone, but the energy and motivation still work decently..... i am not willing to increase dose cause i know that just leads nowhere good.....

i think that you haven't been abusing oxy at such a high level for long enough to experience real w/d symptoms yet..

i found that the first time i abused opiates for about a year, which was codeine at doses close to 600mg, i felt 0 w/d symptoms when i stopped. every time i start using opiates and withdraw it progressively gets worse though.

wow the NE overload from stopping opiates while going on venlafexamine should've made it painful

i didnt take more than 150mg effexor, i believe the NE doesnt kick in until like 225mg doses, below that its still largely SET at work, i transition smoothly thou...over like 10 days or so...so that there are both ADs during the transition (weaning dose of one while slowly introducing new one....)

why is it that i cant tolerate >15mg oxy at once?? if I take higher i get severe nausea, slugglish.....no fun....

Well, it sounds like your body can not handle that much opiate at a time. I would consider it a blessing. The side effects your experiencing will keep your tolerance down. When I first started taking hydrocodone/ APAP I could only handle 2.5mg at a time. It wd very effective at relieving my pain.

Some people are more sensitive to pain medications than others.

Some people can not take one pain medication due to chemical structure sensitivity, but can take another.

If you can take 15mg or less of oxy then stick with that. There is really no. Since in pushing your tolerance up unless your pain is not relieved. I would talk to your dr about these symptoms if he has you prescribed more than that.
