EADD 2012 Official UK Mushroom Thread

I cannot stress how important this is, so I'll use bold and underlining:

TAKE SOMEONE WITH YOU THE FIRST FEW TIMES YOU GO PICKING WHO KNOW WHAT THEY'RE LOOKING FOR!!!!

A LOT of those in those pics are not Liberty Caps, New Fang.

If you are at a loss for someone to go picking with then those new-fangled smart phones with tinterweb access will be good for checking websites and pictures.
If you're not 100% sure on a singular shroom then chuck it - Better safe than sorry innit.

I may go have a look soon. When I've any energy at all...

I bet he wouldn't! But yeah, quite a lot of the mushies in you "definites" pile aren't libs. For a start, you can chuck all the brownish ones without a nipple on top and the pale little round smooth ones with that don't have dark gills.

Went looking again and found fuckall resembling libs so had a look in a wooded area and found these can anyone identify them they look kind of funky:

you should get up on the moor and pick some shrooms for that, shrooms and speed were always my preferred party drugs at this time of year, though no doubt you've got some far more exotically named compounds for the occasion :D
 
I've got some shrooms from last year, a choice of 2C- C, D or E, some DMT and some DOC if I'm feeling brave. I'm doing OK :)
 
Unfortunately not, and when I went for a walk earlier, neither mushrooms nor amphetamines were bursting from the grass as I had hoped they might be.

look, we're not idiots munching on every thing we find. we don't have that one knowledgeable friend and while we do have smartphones and the like, the cowfields of rural ireland are not exactly crawling with wifi hotspots (you can barely text with the level or reception in the bogs). this is why i'm here posting pics and asking which ones to throw out. sorry but this post seems particularly unhelpful and condescending.

so is it safe to assume in future to only collect ones with nipples on top and dark gills? these are in the process of drying right now so it will be harder to tell once i get home again as i remember it all of them had dark gills.. will i just throw away everything without a nipple?

Like you, I spent a couple of seasons picking the wrong things, looking in the wrong places, probably walking over real libs...

Then I went picking with someone knowledgeable, and everything clicked.
 
I was washing the car yesterday when I found a few libs growing on my lawn. All picked, but does anybody know if they'll grow back again this season?

Basically new fang, your looking for the ones with a gnomes hat type shape with a nipple on the top and a darker underside. Study some images of libs, you should be able to seperate them. There's a good few libs in amongst them
 
Quick question: what's the legality of truffles in the UK? If one were to get a shipment in from abroad, and they were to be found en route, what would be the consequences for the person who's address is on the package?

Yeah, I smoked DMT on dancefloors at a few festivals this year, and I was definitely not the only one. It's not a club drug obviously, but it's nice to blast off with a few mates when you get home.

I know some people who find it easier to identify them after they've dried, I always have another look at them. It's just a matter of you not having your eye in yet, the first time I went picking I was hopeless, reckon about 2/3 of the shrooms I picked weren't libs, but after a couple of outings I could spot them pretty well. Practice makes perfect. Obviously, though, you should err on the side of caution, if in doubt, chuck it out.

ricardo, any fungus with psilocin is class A. I imagine the consequences would be letter telling you it had been confiscated, and telling you how to get in touch if you want to try and claim it, but there could be a knock on the door.

I don't know about legality but provided there isn't an obvious link to you, eg a receipt or similar, it'd be the same as most things getting intercepted, ie you'll get a letter from customs asking you if you want to pick up said contraband, which should obviously be ignored.
