From what I understand, most ketamine you'll find in the United States will be pretty close to pure. As pure as it was when it left India, China, or whatever Asian factory it came from (this is common information, found even on national geographic documentaries, not close to the sourcing rules imo). It's produced in such abundance and accessible internationally by the average joe, and then resold with such a mark up that cutting the product doesn't prove to be a very profitable business decision. Not saying cutting ketamine isn't seen, as it is, but not in the way cocaine, heroin, or methamphetamine is. When you are seeing 40+ usd markup on a single gram (probably for some with very solid bulk sources, 60-80 usd mark up [I've only seen it sold IRL twice, both times the cost per gram where definitely higher per gram than what is usually nationally sold at, but not so ridiculous that people wont take it, at this sort of markup]), cutting seems like a waste of time and money with potential loss of customers. If I ever bothered to sell ketamine I'd get, due to my source, I'd probably only mark it up 20-25 USD per gram and not be selling it at a ridiculous price in the US.
Oh yeah, the times I actually ran into ketamine IRL, I was located in NC. Going back to the fact that it is easily sourced by average joes internationally, the boarders of sale break down in the US. It can be gathered in bulk in any state, in any city, by anyone, unlike other street drugs. It turns very much into who you know. It'll be able to be gathered by someone in NYC, as easily as someone in bumfuck NC. Now of course its use in certain environments like electronic music events (low dose ketamine primarily in these situations, though you'll see the occasional person stumbling in high dose state), will result in a higher abundance of product solid by dealers, so certain areas of the country may see a larger amount use than other areas with out some cultural draw to the drug.
In some ways its nice to not have the European market in US when it comes to ketamine, as there is so much less press when it comes to dissociative drug use than in Europe (minus DXM, but its not usually grouped in with ketamine or even PCP [or PCP analogs]). I personally rather see the articles on 2c-x's, beta-ketone phenethylamines, other RC stimulants, than dissociatives. Less attraction to authorities to crack down use. Sure higher price, but with such cheap prices in Europe the potential for the number of users using via various ROA to be consuming gram/s+ a day. Noone needs the price per g to be so cheap that it cost the price per bag of heroin in the North East of the US. Even at 3-4 times price of a bag of heroin in the NE US, the cost per g often seen in US still is cheap enough to promote the use/addictiveness to sad levels. Though, who doesn't like saving money by potentially spending a lot less if they can hold the psychological addiction away to prevent themselves from becoming gram+/day users. I had to set up some rules with my k use to limit the hold it had on me, and the negative effects it can have on life (only purchase the kinda sizeable amount I did only twice a year. Once I was done with the ketamine, I was done - no purchasing more to help carry a binge, or allowing the ketamine to make a noticeable negative effect on my brain/mind. I'd run through .6-1.0 g [usually closer to .6-.8] in a day for a less than 3 weeks then stop for half a year). I know that I'd probably end up a daily user, having psychologically as hard of a time stopping as I do with opioids, if I could purchase it as easily/cheapily as in Europe.
I've only ever bought it once IRL though. It was before I had a solid source, and basically just randomly ran into it (of course I had to do a little bit of work to find it in the situation I found it). Now, I can't verify whether or not my solid source has 98%+ pure ketamine, or that the first bit of ketamine I had was 98%+ pure, I know, but based on consistency, dosing, and anecdotal evidence I'd wager it was. That first bag of ketamine I bought I came to the conclusion was probably non-racemic (probably s isomer or primarily s) based on the crystals (wasn't crushed ketamine or quick evap ketamine that is almost powdery), dosage (noticeable less ketamine used for the effects), duration, and effects compared to a lot of my other ketamine experiences. I got a product from the solid source that was in the same consistency of most of the other times I've gone through them, but had a different type of experience in the duration, dosage, and effects resembling the first few experiences from the first product bought IRL. Given that racemic is the most common product produced (particularly in illicit international factories) and certain effects have been describable to the human mind have shown in articles, I do feel that the times I felt I got s isomer ketamine (or primarily s isomer) were not a fabrication based on set and setting or any other potential experience altering influences. I've never ran into any of the common ketamine cuts either also pushing me towards viewing my ketamine pure enough where a few percentages difference possibly seen in illicitly produced ketamine wouldn't be noticeable.
Yes, I got my amphetamine script filled tonight and took 45mg around 9:30 est. I love ketamine and talking about it, so i let myself go.
