Only on psychedelics! Bizarre co-incidences whilst tripping

Hi All

One thing i've noticed about psychedlics, primarily acid and mushrooms, is that strange shit ALWAYS seems to happen whilst tripping. Its as if the planets align and the most unlikely events are materialised. Who has got any crazy stories?

I've got a few - probably strangest was about a year ago. I had a day off from work (a rostered day off, proper leave), so i decided to go up into the hills on the outskirts of the city - quite an isolated area - and take some mushrooms and walk around. So i made the long journey out there on the train, walked until i was well and truly in the bush, and dropped my shrooms. 45 odd minutes later i was feeling great, a light trip but still very much tripping. I walked around randomly for a while before coming to a road and a cafe. It was about lunch time so i thought i would grab a bite to eat and a drink, so i went into the cafe, ordered, and sat down. I had only been there for five minutes, when someone called out my name. I looked up, and it was my BOSS! He had taken the team to that particular cafe, at that particular time, on that particular day, for a team meeting! Bearing in mind the cafe was at least 35kms from the office, all the way accross town, for a team meeting. What are the odds? The cafe was NOWHERE NEAR the office. Of all the restaurants in the entire city, it was where i was at that exact time. Luckily the trip was light enough that i kept my shit together and calmly said my pleasantries to him, quickly ate my lunch and got the hell outta there. I got away with it in the end. I was glad it wasn't a big dose of mushies, or even worse acid, which would've been far more obvious.

Anyone else had this phenomenon?

I was tripping on ~75-80 mg 2C-C last school year with a friend J, another friend A was also chilling with us.

We were near the end of the trip and went to a grocery store to get an apple or two or something like that. We noticed a police car with it's lights outside of a building nearby but thought nothing of it. We got some food, came back out, saw the police car was still out and started walking across the parking lot back to campus. Then we see this street cleaner doing donuts in the parking lot, driving recklessly enough that we skedaddle out of there. We turn around a corner, pass a private neighborhood and walk maybe a minute more before we see another cop car zoom down this street pushing 80 mph (35 is the speed limit), he pulls up to the entrance to the private neighborhood and we see a man illuminated in the headlights. Within 15 seconds 4 more cops come from every direction, blocking the four lane major street. We still couldn't figure out was up but we were significantly confused for the rest of the night.

I was tripping on LSD in my hometown one night with some high school friends. That night I happened to run into a friend I hadn't seen in a year or two. Fast forward a couple years. I hadn't talked to my friend I ran into tripping, but happened to get his phone number through a mutual friend. I called my old friend out of the blue one night, and he lets me know that he is tripping on LSD. Weird coincidence.

What else the purpose of noting these random variables temporally occurring while under the dose response curve of a psychedelic, on a drug website, with no other evident discussion like "tips for dealing with old acquaintences while tripping 6-spheres" then?

not really a coincidence, but a few weeks ago, i was on a walk with my sister thorugh the neighborhood, i was on a low dose of 2C-E. on our way, all the cats, which would normally run away, just looked at us with curiosity or even approached us to get some stroking. it's weird how animals sense the state of mind, we humans have sometimes.

Op asked for crazy stories. What other purpose do you need?

And could you please point out where it was implied that coincidences only happen on psychedelics, or are caused by psychedelics, I must have missed that part of the thread.

About 10 years ago, I was experimenting with vaporized 5-meo...this chemical impressed me as being very sacred material..to be taken seriously..not for cheap kicks.

Anyways..once I vaporized a less than ego-destroying dose (alone, in my bedroom) and decided it might be cool to watch a porno tape while under the influence and..you know..masturbate..

So I grab my remote to turn on the porn, and zap! blow a fuse leading into my tv/vcr!!

No porn! I felt like I was bitch-slapped by the spirit world for trying to turn something sacred into something (for lack of a better word) cheesey! This fuse has never blown out before or after...and there was no special stress put on the line when this happened.

Here's another one..way way back in the mid-seventies, a college buddy of mine showed up at my dorm-room with the gift of a couple hits of blotter. So we both dropped one and had a nice day tripping around the campus-grounds. Later we returned to the dorm and my friend got a phone-call telling him that his dad had just had a heart-attack and that he had to get to Chicago (from Grand Rapids, MI)) So we got a ride with a friend with a car and arrived at the Chicago airport at the crack of dawn where he hooked up with his brother...Later, we found out that his dad had passed away...and we could not help but feel that our tripping had something to do with his father's heart-attack/passing.

Weird!!!

I could tell a couple of stories of wierd coincidences while tripping, i did have a dream literaly come true on one occasion, however i've typed that twice on here already and am bored of telling that story now.

I will instead share a minor anecdote that shows the other side of coincidence.

A friend of a friend, Toby once told my friend Lou about this 'magic dude' that always appeared at the train station and started rolling joints when he [ Toby ] was drunk or tripping and didnt have any weed.
Toby and this magic dude really hit it off, and had hours of fun smoking weed and talking about music but they nver exchanged names and the 'magic dude' would always disappear into the night, all mysterious like.

Thing is, the 'magic dude' was me, what Toby didnt realise is that I was only 15 so couldnt smoke at home, the train station provided a wind free place to roll joints and somewhere to sit, we did exchange names but Toby being drunk always forgot that part, and i was at that train station most weekday evenings.
Nothing magic about it.

I think what Rangrz is suggesting is [ if i may be so bold to elaborate on someone else's comments ] that that coincidence and / or synchronicity suggests a higher order, or a plan. Synchronicity and coincidence imply that the universe wants us to take a particular direction so gives us 'clues' or creates opportunities to enable us to take the 'correct' path of realise truths that are important to us.

I guess the scientific wiew of the world [ well...science as in chemistry, physics and biology ] is that this idea is bullshit, and that the universe is just random molecules bumping into each other and the 'higher order' is created by our monkey brains to make sense of it all.

I find frequent doses of psychedelics make the spiritual higher order theory seem more likely and at times tangible, but most days when i'm wieghed down by bills to pay, and the crushing normality of it all i lean more towards the latter.
Because, as my crappy story shows, there is usually a mundane reason behind coincidences, and we could all tell a wierd coincidence while tripping story, but for every wierd story i bet we all have 99 other stories of taking drugs and nothing strange happening outside our heads =-]
