I need to go to the clinc because im tired of having no money no food and feeling like crap, How much does the first vist cost? How long is it? Do you have to be in withdrawals to be able to dose? Im nervouse about going

It really varies depending on where you live and what clinic you go to. If you are in North America there are free clinics, but they are often stricter than paid clinics (not that that is necessarily a bad thing) and can take longer to get accepted to. I would definitely consider detox or buprenorphine (Suboxone) before methadone, methadone should be an absolute last resort for when you have tried everything else and failed. It's very difficult to get off and the withdrawals are way worse and way longer-lasting than heroin. You don't have to be in withdrawal to take methadone, although some clinics may prefer it if you aren't noticeably high because they don't want you to overdose. You do have to be in withdrawal to go on Suboxone though. Suboxone you can get prescribed from a doctor (although not just any doctor, they have to be licensed to prescribe it) and you don't have to go to the clinic every day (or pharmacy every day in Canada) like with methadone.

There are a lot of threads on here about this topic already, please let me know if you need help finding any of them.

I was quitting suboxone and on my worse night i was having panic attacts kept crying because of em ugh my legs so after my boyfriend insisting i took a roxcie then decided to buy some "just in case" and i was fucked, I started because of back pain and boardum i quit cold turkey off domes and after months of being clean i was still just so board with everything anyways sorry about the tmi i've done subs and i don't want them, i live in utah i know ut cost 15$ a day but i the first vist more

So you have been on methadone before? How long were you on it and at what dose? Methadone withdrawals are usually much worse than Suboxone withdrawals. and it really doesn't get you high at all after the first couple months. It might be cheaper than Suboxone though.

So are you currently using Roxies?

Do you need any more info about methadone maintenance? I'm assuming you are wanting to go on maintenance and not just do a short-term taper/detox?

I was only on it for about a month at 50 yea the wd are way wose then subs just in utah it cost 700 for your first vist to see a sub doc, right now im on roxies and i hate em even if i get high off em its not a happy high i dont like anything about em I've blew thro all my savings and it didn't even feel good, yea i just want maintenance, i'm not really sure why but even if i'm not getting high at all i just need something ya know? Right now im just worried ab

about my first vist costing alot because i have just enough to pay the 15$ a day till payday also my boyfriend say fuck that to methadomes so hes goin to stay on roxies he says instead of swithching to something else he just needs to quit he can do it he was off subs a few weeks then i was quiting and someone gave him a roxie and then the spiral started

I recently started going to a clinic so feel free to PM me with any questions you have.
Do you have insurance? If you do, that could help cover it. I have MediCal, it's free insurance in California for low income people.
It covers everything at the clinic. However, even though my clinic also offers buprenorphine, my insurance won't cover it.
Bupe is a lot of money month at least, might be more.
You can pay daily or pay on the 1st of the month, it's up to you.

If you're with someone who uses you both need to get clean or he'll just cause you to relapse..

Guys, sorry but we're not supposed to discuss prices, even of legal prescription drugs. Prices and policies also vary greatly from place to place, and clinic to clinic - I don't think that Hop325 has even said their location?

I think she stated that she is living in Utah,

The 1st doctor visit is just money down, for a private clinic. Most of them work with addicts that are tight with money and some offer med-insurance.

I don't know much about the free clinics. I would try private though, they are still pretty cheap and the patient can freely regulate their dosage.

Okay, edited out prices from my post. Didn't realize that included legal, prescribed drugs.
No she didn't mention where she lived that's why I specified California in my post because it may be different where she lives.
But maybe her state has familiar programs.

I had a girlfriend who was on methadone for a little while til she got clean, and I remember she went to a private methadone clinic after scheduling an appointment like 2-3 days in advance, So I gave her a ride, and she had to show up at like 5am and wait about 2 hours before they saw her, then she went through a whole series of interviews with nurses, counselors, and finally their doctor. They wanted to make sure that she had tried other means of quitting before they allowed her to get addicted to methadone.

Then she had to give a urine test to prove she was using opiates, and if that urine test came back with no evidence of opiates, she wouldve been denied. Then it took a day or 2 for the urine tests to get back, and she tested positive for opiate use, so they admitted her that next day after the tests got back, and I dont remember how much she paid at that time, but it was only a few bucks a day. But I also remember she told me that there was another methadone clinic in another town that was easier to get on, <snip>.

if you have medicaid, the methadone clinic is absouletly free. i live in Buffalo, NY and am currently on methadone, i have independent health thru medicaid, which covers the clinic, if u dont have health insurancer its $37 every week to go to the clinic, i started at 30mg for 3 days, then 40mg 3 days, then 50mg 3 days, then 60mg 3 days, then 70mg for 3 days., thren 80mg for 3 days..then i had to see the doctor and got pushed to 100mg...its awesome i lost all cfravings for opiates, i dont even get high off methadone unless i take benzos...i tried shooting dope, nothing happen, just made me extra tired, waste of $$, no high...they say 80mg is the blockade dose....be careful not to take benzos, many peple die every month at my clinic by mixing benzos and methadone

I did a 21 day state ran outpatient methadone detox and it was covered 100% by medi-cal. So not sure of your specicifics as far as location and what not. But, if you are in California, I promise there is someone out tere that can help you in your area. May just need someone not so close to the situation to foucus in on some things that may get lost in the weeds for you during your troubled times.

Let me know if you need any help.

In Canada YOU do actually have to go to the pharmacy every day to dose Suboxone, at least for 3 months minimum before you can get any carries for Suboxone in Canada.

You guys in the U.S. and UK are so lucky to just get scripted a bunch of Suboxone at once... damn Health Canada always behind in Medication, and in equipment compared to the U.S. & UK.

Actually it's only for the first 2 months. And after that (depending on your doctor and your situation of course) you can start getting longer and longer carries, whereas compared to methadone many doctors like to keep you on daily witnessed ingestion for years and will never end up giving you more than a few days at a time. For example, I've been on methadone for 10 years and had clean urine tests for the majority of that time, and I've finally gotten to only have to pick up my methadone once a week. So Suboxone still offers far more flexibility than methadone, even in Canada. But yes, I should have been more specific, I was assuming the OP was in the US (which they are), and meant that they wouldn't have to do daily pick-ups for very long with Suboxone compared to methadone or go to the methadone clinic in the US to pick it up.

WOW! here in NY, atleast, u see a cash doctor, pay him $200, u walk out with a scrip fr #90 suboxone, see him every month for a refill, depending how many tabs per day u get RXed, or every 2 weeks u go
