2012 major league baseball thread v. Playoffs make baseball watchable

China are you referring to Dock Ellis? The pitcher who threw a no-hitter on LSD?

Phils lost to the Astros last night, if they dont take 3/4 from this team they deserve to be left out of the playoffs
 
Watching a Yankees game highlight on ESPN and the anchor said something like, "After the game Ichiro said through a translator he felt blah blah blah."

Dude has been in the majors for 10+ years and still uses an interpreter? WTF?

since the pirates ship has sunk more dramatically than the titanic i have to cheer for someone...

oakland, o's, giants, reds, tigers, braves, white sox and nationals are all teams i can get behind

that's a lot more than normal

ichiro is a professional baseball player, their lives cannot be compared to an average man

when you're committed to baseball excellence you don't have the time or desire to learn english well enough to confidently give an interview

i hate this whole wild card thing. braves record is like 6 games better than the cards. i think the team with the better record should get 1 wildcard spot and move directly into the playoffs.

if they don't do it like that, they should have a 3 game playoff between the two wildcard teams. the one game thing is pretty dumb, IMO.

either way, braves bitches. it's on tomorrow.
 
^ man i wish i lived 5 minutes away from my favorite team and could get into a home playoff game for 15 dollars
 
Rough way to end the season CS.... I bet they expand these WC spot playoffs to a 3 game series soon. One game just isnt enough for playoff baseball.

Im sure you would have donated your trash to the field if you were there.
 
Yea, I agree. What I really think needs to happen is that each division gets 1 wildcard, and the team with the better recOrd gets the spot. But yea, if not that, a 3 game playoff for sure.

Yea, that call was horrible, and I would've happily thrown shit all over the field if I was there. I was actually proud of braves fans last night, as they're typically a pretty subdued group with not much passion. But we didn't lose the game cuz of that call. We lost it because of the 3 stupid fucking errors.
 
you know, i hate baseball, and the suburban backwash that means i get treated like a second class citizen in my own neighborhood because those assholes from east cobb need somewhere 'safe' to park -- but last night seemed awesome. the city was an absolute disaster and once i heard some of the game on the radio, i assumed it was everyone going HAM about the bad call. i can appreciate fans going crazy about bullshit, no matter the sport.
 
I think the Yankees will win the WS if their starting pitchers dont have a seizure on the mound at the very least. Their lineup is just too loaded and they got veterans in like every position

Wow, giants decided to just not show up for the playoffs. I turned off the game in the 8th inning....... one hit all game? Really?
 
I cant believe the giants won that game. They had one hit until the 10th inning and they still managed to win.

From what I hear the reds are pretty much out of good pitchers now and the giants have been really good on the road this year.

God I hope they win tomorrow.

Buster posey is such a beast.

The Giants AAA team plays 15 minutes from where I live and I usually go to a few games a year. I remember in 2010 when posey and bumgarner were still in AAA. One game I went to Posey hit 2 home runs and Bumgarner pitched a shutout into the 7th.

Now theyre key players on a team thats won the world series and are on their way to another shot.
