Drug use by drug cartel members

it's getting worse. i live in the border and up until lately one of the top guys was arrest now it's literally a WARZONE over there, it's a free-for-all to decide which cartel takes control of the city. today they burned down the mexican flag (2nd biggest flag in the world, i believe), they went as far as to throw a bomb over to the US side to send a message out to the border patrol.

one thing i've noticed is that as the groups have gotten more violent and disorganized is that the number of members who use drugs has gotten higher. i'm not 100% anti-drug or anything, and believe education is the best way to prevent addiction and abuse, but i've come to a conclusion that people are literally losing their stability (referring to cartel members) all because they've been breaking the #1 drug dealing rule, don't get high on your own supply.

they've gone as far as drugging kids as young as 14 years old just to make a "soldier" out of them, i've seen it with my own eyes. it's corruption at its peak. i'm seriously so disgusted at the practice i'll never look at cocaine the same way again. i used to ask myself: "how do these 15, 16 year old kids manage to live with themselves after decapitating someone and watching them squirm as they give their death rattle?" the answer? they don't, they get paid in drugs and that's all they really care about.

i'll tell you what, it's sickening, and personally i support the war on drugs because of all this BS across the border, it just shows what america will be like if drugs (talking about cocaine and hard drugs, not marijuana) are legalized...

thanks for reading this, and i encourage all of you who live in these southern states around here to read up on all these recent events, stay smart and keep an eye out, because it's coming to the states...

This makes no sense at all. Cartels were brought on by drugs being illegal.

yeah and if it's legalized something like meth or cocaine we're going to have a bunch of violent junkies like them over here...

the war on drugs also applies to crushing said cartels

Have you looked at how Portugal has turned out after legalization?

I mean, those 'violent junkies' you are talking about are kids that were brainwashed and addicted to drugs by a Cartel. I doubt that American citizens would be brainwashed by Cartels if drugs were legalized.

i've seen them easily drugged and brainwashed by local gangs here in the states. talking about a few grams of cocaine too

We would still have those same junkies, but they wouldn't have to be violent if they could legally obtain drugs instead of having to rob people to get the money for drugs that are expensive due to being sold illegally by said cartels.

You do know that legalizing drugs doesn't increase the usage rates right? And guess what, we have tweakers/cokeheads/etc in the USA that do fucked up shit already, just like in mexico. In the USA we have drug distribution gangs just as fucked up as the cartels.

You are confusing the violence caused by abusing drugs, with the violence caused by governmental interference in the market, with prohibition making it highly profitable and competitive, and worth fighting (or covert lobbying for by banking institutions that launder trillions in your drug money) for.

You make drugs legal, cheap, and just like all other commodities, and that incentive to be violent to perpetuate your upperhand disappears. Budweizer/coors don't send suv's with RPG's and ak's at each other to protect their monopoly, because its not worth it. Make alcohol illegal, and you get factions fighting violently for sole distribution of a highly sought after and valuable commodity, per history.

I junkie is not going to be violent like cartel members/gangs because they aren't fighting for control of territory and huge profits. You get the shit we already have, tweakers/addicts jacking shit and selling it at flea markets/ebay to support their habit. The drugs don't inherently make a person more prone to violence, the reward of huge profits from controlling distribution top down is where the violence in Mexico/L/C/n-america stems from.

You do realize that when the government tells you "hard" drugs are going to make you a crazy, psychotic, violent person, they are lying out their ass? The incentive to get rich and well off makes them do horrible things, given the opportunity prohibition has provided. Its the power and money, not the drugs that allows cognitive dissonation of the death and violence required to get rich.

hi Lopez,
i am agree with you. if you think little more you will find south Asian countries like Pakistan and Afghanistan produces a lot of "Afeem" and now it is been spread to China and India too. they are smuggling a lot of drugs like these and overdose of this drugs resulting in massive violation. Specially young generation are destroying their lives with these drugs.
