quick question about oxycodone tolerance

Hello, i've been prescribed percocets 5/325 and been taking them everyday, just one used to make me feel amazing, now since my tolerance is increased im up to 4 at a time (20mg). Anyway i've been taking 4 at a time for only 3 days now, and I only have 4 more left.

My question was how long do I have to wait until my tolerance decreases so I can get a good high by taking 2 at a time, for 2 sessions rather then one, if possible.

OR if you have any suggestions/opinions you can share, i'd greatly appreciate it.

currently im taking them either on am empty stomach or eating a food high in fat after, with ice cold water. I found that eating a high fat food 30min-1hour before makes my high less, opposed to eating a high fat food ~5 minutes afterwards.

Thank you.

how long have you been taking them on a regular basis? you'll find you'll never reach that point where you were in the beginning because as you continue to use the quicker your tolerance rises right back to where it was, after breaks.

if you take a serious break, an extended time, say a few months, you'll be able to get those feelings from lighter doses for a while. though, it won't take too long for it to plateau or have you increasing your dose to experience the same effects.

you might like to delve into the area of potentiators.

The reversal of tolerance varies from person to person. I had been told by people that once you abuse oxy for an extended period your body will "pick up where you left off" But that wasn't the case with me as I had taken 30's for several years and weaned of with percs 10/325 then hydros 10/325 for the last year. I had stopped taking them altogether and about four months later my friend gave me a 30. I was wary and just took half but it didn't seem to do anything for me after more than an hour. So I took the other half and found myself vomiting for hours. :( I was so sick. Everybody's different.

i've been taking them since about the 5th of this month only,
you might like to delve into the area of potentiators.
ok, i heard both grapefruit juice and Benadryl are potentiators for oxy, but i haven't tried either.. about how much stronger does it make the high? I already get a decent high from 20 of oxy, don't wanna have a bad high, if thats possible lol..
any other potentiators? or ways to increase my high. thanks.

If you want to stay "well", then you shouldn't have any days without Oxycodone because of addiction since you already have built up tolerance (from 5 mg / day to 20 mg / day). My advice would be to take just one every day if your script is running out early because you will suffer some (mild) withdrawal symptoms when you don't take any.

Welcome to the world of Opiates, they are great for pain but are also excellent masters in destroying lives and futures. So be cautious with the Oxy, I started on 20 mg a day and and now on 50 mg Oxycodone and 25 mg Oxymorphone daily with the occasional Morphine or Codeine. (I began using Opiates with 75/325 mg Tramadol / APAP, tolerance is a bitch :\).

Stay safe bro ;)

I found that drinking "white" grapefruit juice (has to be white) didn't make Oxycodone stronger, but it made it stay in my system longer. I thought this was great because maybe I wouldn't run out of my script. My script lasted longer and I was only a day short before my next script. The down side, the WD's were 10 x's worse!!! With that, I stopped with the GF juice.

Not to judge or lecture, but it sounds like where you are going right now 120mg - 180mg a day is not going to be enough before you even know it!!! On top of that, no more high or killing pain, just taking it to be able to function and not be dope sick. Then wake up way before sunrise and start another fun filled day.

Look man, before you become one of us, stop while you still can. I mean if you have chronic pain and can't, then it is a different story. But by the sound of your post, you seem to be after the euphoric effects. When I say stop, I mean stop taking them everyday if you want the magic to stay. Some opiate users here will never be able to feel Euphoria from low oral doses ever again...you are still ahead...limit your usage to once a week/ every two weeks and you will laughing man.

I just came off a four month break (also made a thread similiar to yours). I had a big tolerance, took the break and dosed in the morning. Even though it was only Codeine (400mg), I got severe nausea, felt like vomitting the whole time so I couldn't move, and I nodded/slept the whole day....but EUPHORIA was missing. No rushes of goodness, or extreme heaviness of limbs....wasn't even that content.

You have gotten lots of good replies so far. I take oxycodone ir along with a fentanyl patch for chronic pain, have been for a couple of years. Naturally, I have slowly built up quite a tolerance.
This will happen to anyone who takes opioids on a regular basis for an extended period of time... regardless of their reasons for taking them. I have no problem admitting that I'm physically dependent upon these medications. I take them for legitimate pain, but that doesn't protect me from physical dependence.
I went through a time where I got into the habit of taking my break through meds upon awakening if I felt the slightest bit of discomfort. I was afraid if I didn't take it at the first sign of pain that it would not work as well. I noticed that it was becoming an everyday occurrence, and I was very troubled by it. Due to my increased intake, I also found it wasn't relieving my pain as well.
I made a conscious effort not to take any of my breakthrough meds unless I really needed them. I noticed that if I didn't take any until at least 5 or 6 hours after waking up, I got much better pain relief and I was able to wait even longer before taking the next dose ( If I needed to take one ).

Stop while you can. It happens in a blink of an eye. When i started on opiates i'd buy 50 pills of oxycodone (10/325 endos, didn't need them for pain, took purely for recreation) with the goal of having that supply last a month.
Then i was dosing 20 mg a day, then 50mg a day, then 150 mg a day. Chasing the high. Tolerance going through the roof. Aware it was happening, unaware of how to stop it.
After the first year i was up to about 300mg a day and still getting high. Then it gets dark. I needed 600mg a day (60 pillls) just to feel normal. This was about 18 months after becoming a daily user. By the end, the last four months, i was dosing over a gram (100 pills) a day. This was 30 months after i started. Completely insane. My whole life revolved around copping and hiding it from everyone.
Opiates are the devil. I've lived it. I know.

thanks for the replies, this is my 2nd day without taking any oxys and i dont seem to have any withdrawal symptoms, weed helps.. might just take the last 4 i have either tomorrow or something recreationally since i dont seem to have any withdrawal symptoms. So any other tips on how to increase my high? Planning on picking up some white grapefruit juice tomorrow before and just chilling. thanks.

ps, dumb question but, since its only been 2 days, my tolerance is gonna be the same right.

I agree with all the other people.. get out while you can.

My habit started with a pain going from my lower back down my leg.. turned out it was a pinched nerve. I was prescribed 10/325 Oxycodone for the pain since I am a big guy..

3 years and 2 failed back surgeries later I am taking 300 mg of MS Contin a day and 32mg of Dilaudid a day. I have to take pills just to get out of bed or I have horrible sickness within a couple hours.

Even worse.. The doctor had the great idea of switching me from Oxycodone to Dilaudid last month.. guess what.. Oxycodone has ~90% Oral Bioavailability.. Dilaudid has ~30%.. so in order to keep me out of withdrawals and to help keep the pain down I have tried everything from snorting them to rectal administration and nothing has worked.. so I decided to try IV'ing them. 38 years old and had never IV'd anything in my life.. and now I am a IV drug user..

If you can go 2 days without opiates and get no withdrawals then you are in good shape right now..

Opiates will take over your life if given the opportunity.. please listen to the people in this thread.. get out while you can.

As far as your question about the tolerance goes.. I would take them all together and call it a last hoorah if I were you. Enjoy the buzz and try to make it my last.. or at least the last time I do opiates more than once or twice a month.

Listen bro its like this. If you keep using that drug everyday your tolerance will keep growing and it will only be harder to get high and fel as good as you did before.
If you REALLY want your tolerance to stay steady/low you have to just use no at least no more than 1 time a week.
Its a hard choice right now but its your choice, do it alot and have less fun and spend more money or do it once a week and have a super nice high spending less money and doin less damage to your body. Just think about it like that....
