The Ibiza 2012 Thread.............(unofficial pirate copy!)

Are you English? I think it must be an English thing or something. Round here (Gasgow) all the wee kids are into dubstep or 'EDM' (LOL, hate that term - Electro De Merde!) or what could be called "dirty electro" (LOL again). Whereas in England it seems different. Same as gabba/hardstyle/hardcore etc - round here that is solely the music of the worst kind of manky wee bam (chav) but in England normal people seem to like it, it's weird. Crowds for techno/house here tend to be at least slightly older, mid twenties upwards. Folk would have grew out of trance at 16/17 & most likely got into techno.

Haha yea I'm from London. I never ever call it EDM mate I thought you were American thats why I said it haha !

Dirty electro I would consider this sort of tune mate http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gsOz8JwCtpg (Kicks in at 1:35) Havent really listened to any of it ina while so dunno what other examples I could think of.

I don't mind gabba but only in a barn rave setting, it isnt "home listenin music" if you see what I mean. For a lot of drum and bass I like the music but not the crowds it attracts... Like for example, I love UK Hip Hop, but the kind of people who go to those events are generally all wankers.

Theres different kinds of dubstep anyway. A fourteen year old prebuscent who "OMG LOVES DUBSTEP AND SKRILLEX" aint gonna heard of the best artists in the genre. I would like to think I'm well educated in that respect. Everyones a bit of a music snob secretely...

I like some dubstep. Early Skream, Phaleah (sp?) etc. The ones that ripped off Burial ;). The chilled out stuff without the chainsaw noises can be pretty good at times.

You can't claim to be any sort of music snob without ending that "I went to see Skrillex" tale with "I got throw out for throwing bottles at the stupid cunt".

Anyway, Ibiza eh?

not really, although not to my preference I took Skrillex over calvin Harris. like putting up with watching united play on a Wednesday night because it's better than watching masterchef... If you get me. I'd of loved to mong out to sukh knight or skanked to zeds dead but we can't have everything ;)

Midweek definitely. Friday & Saturday nights are the quietest. I'm not taking the piss lol. Friday & Saturday tend to be all the cheaper 'workers' parties, with no real big name DJs. Sundays are good though, you've got We Love at Space if you like real music or Judgement Sunday at Eden if you like trance shite.

Look at the Ibiza Spotlight calendar, that'll give you the best idea. Can't be arsed finding the link but you'll get it in 2 seconds on Google.

First thx for your reply ...

well yea I did found the calendar , and saw that midweeks are the best specially Monday Tuesday Thursday ... but I wanted to know is it always the case in Ibiza that midweeks are the best in recent years or just this year , I've never been to Ibiza though ,, so I want to attend the best times there which clubs are on fire..

thx bro

to be honest Ibiza is best beginning july to mid august.
In all respects
the beaches
the hook ups
the clubs, parties etc
did not like it in sep even at closing
nor opening

im going to an island to party at great expence, i want the whole beach and wicked weather experience alonside getting F'd up

Haha.

Na, best time for parties. The massive summer rush is over, not so many pissed up rockets chanting football songs but it's still really busy. Seems just slightly more chilled out, but then the last time I was there I wasn't anywhere near the dreaded 'West End' so it would seem like that. Weather's still been banging whenever I've been there in September. Last time it was clear blue skies, roasting every day. Right up until we were sitting outside the airport at 9am after Cocoon dreading that flight home, then it started raining slightly.

well Im planning to go to Ibiza next summer , even will book my hotel in the next few days from now lol ! ....

ill be there for 2 weeks in August , that means its best to attend two mid weeks ... from sunday till saturday most probably according to parttime creackhead advice for the midweeks .

Ive always thought september was the best, have done end of June before though that was kind of similar not as good. Its still like 26-30 degrees in september with the odd storm like once a month if your unlucky. We had just missed a 2 day storm though when we landed which was lucky said it had pissed it down for 2 days but fuck it, its not 100% about the weather but it does make it better, we then had 9 days of blazing sun.

The reason why midweek is always best in Ibiza is because all the DJs are elsewhere in different countries playing at the weekend, theres no weekend in ibiza its just nonstop so thats mainly why.

If you go in August its peak season, everywhere is fucking rammed, more expensive etc

Gt offered sm little blistered orange things which this welsh kid called triptamine any 1 no wat they will of been ?

In blister packs??? Get them to fuck. Tryptamines (sp?) are a type of drug, not 1 particular drug. They might be amitryptiline (sp again?), which are not recreational, they're a fucking painkiller or something. Don't buy something that comes in a blister pack off a cunt in Ibiza unless you're deliberately just trying to buy painkillers or benzos, even then I'd be very wary & I'd probably go to a chemist rather than a welsh kid lol.
