Amphetamine aggression

Sometimes after I take adderall for an extended period of time when I wake up after i decide to sleep, I have this random aggression out of no where. I wake up after about 8-12 hours of sleeping with a pulsing fast heart beat and shallow breathing. I snap on the first thing that is even slightly irritating. It's almost uncontrollable and it scares the fucking shit out of me. I've punched a hole in a door while yelling on the phone, treated my girlfriend like fucking shit for no reason, ive even got a felony after a 3 day bender on amphetamines.

Does anyone know why this is happening? I just got out of jail 2 months ago and this morning is the first time it's happened since before i got this new charge due to the same mindless aggression. I'm usually a pretty down to earth guy and never really get aggressive unless I'm drinking or something.

Some details:
I was up for a little over 60 hours
during that time i took about 250mg of Adderall IR
Before I decided to call it a night, i took 100mg of trazodone for sleep

Anything info would be very helpful

Yeah.. Amphetamine.. Lack of sleep and probable lack of nutrients..

Anything more then 60mg of Adderall is a complete waste and causing nothing but delirium, higher blood pressure etc....
You took around 50mg of levo-amphetamine (20% of what adderall is). HOLY CRAP. Don't ever do that again.
 
Amphetamines increase dopamine in your brain. Dopamine can be linked with feelings of aggression or at least feeling confrontational. Less problematically it can manifest as confidence.

Since you seem to often find it manifesting as aggression with this sometimes leading to violence you might want to look at cutting down your usage or even (I know it's shocking but) abstinence? Amphetamines can be very enjoyable but they're not worth treating your gf like shit or going to prison are they?
 
You don't need to be using amphetamines like this.

It's always recommended to take a single dose (as a tool) and get plenty of sleep the following night.
A multitude of hormonal/neurological things can lead to this aggression.

Lack of sleep and nutrition will be at the top of the list. If you want to fix the problem, learn to be a smart amp user.

250mg really isnt that much for my tolerance level. I take 45mg at a time and space it out 4 hours apart when the half life of the pill is starting to take hold.

I actually realized last night that I hadn't ate the entire time I was taking it so I ate two pieces of pizza and wham bam thank you ma'am - i was feeling great. I fucked my girl and was even in a okay mood when her son woke up screaming at 5am. I'm going to start taking magnesium and regulating my diet to at least 1200 calories through out the day.

As far as abstaining - not going to happen. I get prescribed 90 pills a month (2x a day plus 30 PRNs ((lolololol)) as needed), it's become a part of who I am. That's kind of self proclaiming my addiction to drugs but idc.

Thanks for the help, hopefully i can walk this probation while holding adderalls sweet orange hand.
 
If you are going to continue this dosing, drink plenty of fluids and keep yourself fed, I'd even consider some type of vitamin supplements. All of these things can impact how you feel.

A quick search shows that the common consensus on maximum dose is 60mg/day .

I take Amphetamines, not Methylphenidate.

Good call on the multivitamin idea though.
 
Sorry, tolerance is irrelevant here unless you are super human. Even if you were a methamphetamine addict, (dextro/levo)-amphetamine are different drugs. There is no benefit to what you are doing, nothing but harm to your body.
 
Your doctor must think your condition is quite severe if he indeed script you up to 90mg a day. Daily use of that high of a dose can cause damage to neurons in your brain. There is a reason why there is maximum daily dose.

For the aggression part I feel you, as I take Dexedrine ir and er and sometimes have anger outbursts(sometimes big ones even with close friends) and become very irritable, but I never let it take control over me.

Maybe you should take a tolerance break or lower your dose and see if your aggression diminishes, as this helped me overcome my anger.

Tolerance is irrelevant? That's fucking ridiculous. Adderall has a bell curve effect with tolerance. If i take 60mg in one dose then 30mg the next dose 4 hours later, the 30mg pill I took will have very little effect on me. I know this because I've done it. Sorry if I'm wrong but you come off as never having actually taken amphetamines.

As far as my condition - I pay good amounts of money to see my doctor and she basically prescribes me what I ask for. I told her I take 3 a day but my insurance wouldnt allow it so she put the extra 30 pills down as prn's.

I was wanting to try dexadrine. Do you take it for adult ADD? If so - how is it compared to adderall? I've taken Vyvance before and noticed it to be smoother but I refuse to use XR pills whenever possible.

Really? Hope it works out then.

No doctor in the US can prescribe more then 60mg's of Adderall/day according to the FDA and still have their license. Get a new doctor. This one is honestly ruining your life -- to cut straight to the chase. Take it or leave it but hey, ignorance is bliss.
 
Yes, I'm on dexedrine right now for adult add but I'm also having panic attacks and anger outbursts. I think its a more enhanced focus than adderall, but it had more side effects in my opinion.

Consider what people have said about taking more than 60mgs a day, as your body will thank you in the long run.

Just to help elaborate. This is the first I have seen of somebody possibly not liking Dexedrine (dextroamphetamine) as much as Adderall. Adderall is ~80% dextroamphetamine to begin with. The last 20%, levoamphetamine and it's isomers seem to add to the 'dirtiness' of the amphetamines, the psychosis and the whole shibang.

If you have more success with Adderall then you do Dexedrine, I would be quite surprised. If you are having issues on both, The only real consideration is lowering your amphetamine dosage in the first place.

Thanks for the comment. Mind over matter! Listen to your body, not your head telling you that what you are taking is not enough.
